Obama Wakes a Sleeping Nation?

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America’s future. He is the best thing ever.
Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America’s resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace.
That’s why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.
Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.
Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips — they’ve gotten off the fence. They’ve woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven’t seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.
Think of the crap we’ve slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and “disabilities.” Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts.
We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives.
But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest.
In the time of Barack Obama, Black Panther members stand outside polling places in black commando uniforms, slapping truncheons into their palms. ACORN — a taxpayer-supported organization — is given a role in taking the census, even after its members were caught on tape offering advice to set up child prostitution rings. A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers’ union — whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense — is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy.
I don’t know about you, but the other day I was at the courthouse doing some business, and I stepped into the court clerk’s office and changed my voter affiliation from “Independent” to “Republican.” I am under no illusion that the Republican party is perfect, but at least they’re starting to awaken to the fact that we cannot sustain massive levels of debt; we cannot afford to hand out billions of dollars in corporate subsidies; we have to somehow trim our massive entitlement programs; we can no longer be the world’s policeman and dole out billions in aid to countries whose citizens seek to harm us.
Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They’re organizing, they’re studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they’re reading history and case law, they’re showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 years — the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

The Constitution became a useless piece of paper when (if not before) a certain Oliver Wendell Holmes said “The Constitution is what we [meaning the Supreme Court) say it is.” It has now become an instrument in irresponsible hands to beat the honest, working citizen over the head. You are correct. The 16th ammendment to the Constitution pretty much destroyed what had been an excellent framework. That ammendment needs to be ammended or repealed.
The 16th ammendment was not an original part of the plan. It was snuck into the constitution durring cristmass recess (yes there where christisns in congress back then.) durring a closed session and it is strongly debateable as to weather or not it was ever really ratified.

The constitution Gave the governments laws that itself must abide by or become nothing more than another dictatorship, monarchy, aristrocracy or pick your poison.
The declaration of Independance, The Bill of Rights and the Preamble of the Constitution set forth limitations apon the government and placed the ultimate power to rule within the grasp of the public as a whole.

Obama is doing much of what President Roosevelt had done after the depression but he is doing it as on steriods and with a completely different motive. Roosevelt spent billions of dollars in cteating massive Government programs after the great depression, TVA,CCC, Dams and road projects, forest service and parks projects and many more in putting America back to work. He also raised taxes big time in paying for his programs and created Government health programs and social security & supported big labor. All socialistic…. Government since then stole billions of dollars from the Social security program and used it for continued social programs, foreign aid and ETC.
Obama has a different Agenda, his is a one world Government, One world Church, One world banking system. The trade agreements by Bush and further creation of them by Obmam is nothing more than reducing the power and enterprise of America in that of a world socialistic Government That controls all Transport, Taxes,Banking, regulations, Corporations, military, health care, homes and property and more. Through his finacial decisions he is implementing the intergration of America into a one world Government system. His socialistic model is that of taking wealth from one person or family and equaly sharing it with a less or poorer person or family. All earnings from the working masses are co-shared equally with your neighbor. Obmama does not support a private enterprise or capitalistic society. He supports a world intergarated Church of which the Moselems and the Sharia laws prevail and of coarse will include the protestant apostate churchs. Obama plan is finacialy breaking America so that he can completely intergrate America with Europe and the Middle east countries. I would like to know what things President Obama has done that you do like. And please don’t tell me he got Osama bin Laden. He took credit for that but in reality Pres. G. W. Bush deserves the credit. We need to take this country back and one of the things we can do is properly work with and educate our youth. In the state of Washington they have an area in the current voters manual where youth can cast a practice vote. What a perfect opportunity for us to teach our youth the history of our great country and the principles it was founded on. I have already started.

Back when I was a young boy, I became a member of the Young Democrats. At the age of 13, Iwas considered a conservative by those older young Dems, even though I wasn’t sure of what was meant, I felt proud to be singled out from the rest of the crowd….who were called liberals. That was 60 years ago. I quit the Democrats after having been a Democrat county chairman in one of the country’s major communities. By the time I was 37, I had had enough and became a Republican. Had it not been for my parents, I probably would have been a Young Republican. After 20 + years of fighting to moderate the Democrat Party in my state, I really gave up, and watched the country morph into what it is today: a Socialist, politcally correct pack of mamby pambies.The pain of seeing Obama in the White House is like watching a horror flick. Speaking of young people when I went to the UofH to sign up for classes at the very end were tables and wouldn’t you know the first one was to sign up as a Demo-rat. That was many years ago and even then I knew better since I was “born” a Republican. When my children went to sign up for their classes the same thing. Where are the Republicans with tables set up to sign to vote?
How about you go set them up? One needs to take action when one can, to help initiate change. Set up a booth/table, find supporters to help man it, and find a way to have this table available every time…the democrats have done it, how about you? Blogging about it won’t CHANGE anything.

Let me ask you, do you advocate social security? Do you advocate pensions? If you say yes to either you agree with a socialist paradigm. Do you agree with Medicare? Once again, a socialist paradigm. If you are advocating the opposite then you are in support of a major paradigm shift. Is this what you are suggesting? You see, this country has been moving from it’s libertarian roots for the better part of a century. Maybe, as with the articles main context, America, as a sleeping giant, has been awoken through the radical implementation of Obama’s socialist programs. My contention is thusly; that Obama is not Marxist, he is indeed a socialist democratic leader following along the lines of the leaders of the past century. Practically, since Lincoln, we’ve been moving away from libertarian ideals and towards a socialist democracy. While I see and understand the perceived lack of freedom or decision making inherent in such socialist programs as Obama’s health care reform, I must also contend that this country has been in need of health care reform for decades. Was it implemented the right way? Absolutely not! He ran it over us as if he were a freight train late for the next stop. That should have been halted early on. Are there ideas within the broader context of the healthcare plan that are worthy of keeping? Yes. Ultimately, we are already, unfortunately, living far removed from the libertarian ideals of our founding fathers. To take it back would mean abolishing social security, medicare, unemployment and all other socialist ideologies. How would that work. What are we as a nation to do and where do we go? Merely changing presidents will not effect the change we are so desirous of. It’s more difficult than we think. It’s concerning and baffling. I’m hoping we have a country to save in the next twenty years.

I’ve been out of my home visiting my Grandchildren for the past two weeks. We arrived home last night.
I had a “house sitter” in everyday to care for my dogs, bring in the mail, etc. He is the son of a good friend of mine.
He at some time used my computer, my fault for not pass-word protecting it. It’s very easy to get to Patriot Update and my previous posts because I “bookmark” them in my “Favorites” and have a desktop shortcut directly to the site.
I was utterly taken aback, today when I visited “Obama Wakes a Sleeping Nation?” and saw his posting, (the one you so most vehemently and rightfully objected to).
He posted several comments, both on this site, and on others that I frequent by using my “Screen names”. I have a couple of them. I didn’t realize how bitter of a young man he is, nor how very radical are his views. He is no longer welcome in my home.
You appear, to me, to be a stabilizing influence on this site. You are correct that many of the posters are either functionally illiterate, or just too lazy to check their spelling and grammar. Either way, they don’t present an example of wisdom or knowledge.
Sorry about those previous posts, the source of them has been “discouraged”.

What I find interesting is that for all of the same reasons the writer gave for changing his affiliation from Independent to Republican, are pretty much the same reasons (with modifications and different names) that I gave when I changed mine from Republican to Independent. Republicans are almost as deeply responsible for this garbage as are Democrats. We call them RINO’s and there way to many of them in the Senate, a still to many in the House.

My mother used to say “Both parties are crooked and self serving but at least the Democrats throw a fish to the poor every so often.” I don’t think things have changed. Seems the country needs a change of the party in power every few years – they check each other. If it were not for the Democrats, we wouldn’t have Social Security, and Medicare (Ronald Reagan, the Great as some think of him was categorically opposed to Medicare – well as a senior, I’m glad we HAVE Medicare!) and more. On the other hand, the health care “reform” seems nothing more than beefing up the insurance companies – it doesn’t reform anything and is of questionable constitutionality – if it were not for the GOP, we might have to suffer with that monstrosity. And neither party is doing anything about dis-allowing mass slaughter of unborn babies in our country although the GOP “mouths” pro life (talk is SO cheap) I’m not real happy with either the Democrats or the GOP but I agree that anyone who is President should be respected to respect the office. I would like to see less talk and more action from both sides and especially from those politicians who profess Judeo-Christian ethics. :/

All along, I’ve thought that the God, Who places whomever He wills, into whatever government office, He pleases, placed Obama in the White House for the express purpose to either wake America’s lazy, so-called, Christians and get them into a praying, steadfast group, or to causes America’s downfall and, thus, leave Israel wide open for an attack by Magog (Russia), which would usher in World War III, the Great Tribulation and the end of time.
When I was in college, we were told that (in 1982) Israel was the third strongest nation, on earth. She could hold her own against any other country, for 30 days, without failing and, because Israel and the United States were allied, Russia wouldn’t dare move aganist Israel, which is why America will have to fall, before Russia would make that move.
Now that Obama has taken over and his goal is to not only destroy the U.S. but also to cause the downfall of God’s chose people (Israel), it’s obvious that the end is nearer than ever before and anyone, who doesn’t agree, is either not well aware of the Word of God, or isn’t paying attention to what’s going on.
I pray that Mr. Hubbell is correct in stating that this will not be a violent revolution. Unfortunately, armed opposition may become necessary since this administration has no respect for the rule of law. They already know that those in a position to do so (Congress, the Supreme Court) won’t do anything to stop their tyranny.
