GOP Hopefuls Stress Their ‘Family Values’

The Republican presidential candidates want you to look past the stiff suits and debate rhetoric and see that they’re good guys — husbands, fathers, Christians.

That’s why Newt Gingrich points to his religious conversion when asked about cheating on his wife. It’s why Mitt Romney highlights his 43-year marriage, and Rick Santorum is photographed with his seven smiling children.

Even long-shot candidate Ron Paul has released a “statement of faith” saying that Jesus is his savior.

Being seen as the family values candidate can go a long way toward winning the party’s nomination, but Republican voters remain undecided about who fits that bill before the Florida primary on Tuesday.

In recent political history, “family values” have been defined as opposing abortion and same-sex marriage and believing that Judeo-Christian principles should be reflected in the public square.

For all those people who object to Romney’s being a Mormon: he’s still had two less wives than Gingrich.

      for Jim Lettourneau:
During the Bush years the economy was booming. Employment was stable. People were spending money like crazy on newer and bigger homes, biggest televisions in history, home theaters and tons of new electronics and gadgets.
Rising fuel prices put pressure on the housing bubble and caused it to collapse sooner then it would have, but it was destined to collapse anyway. That’s what caused bankruptcies and lost jobs.
This all happened after the housing bubble crash and because of it. It was not the state of the way things were during his whole administration.
Bush was not a conservative President but he was also dealing with a very liberal Democratic controlled House and Senate. He was the man in charge but both parties were responsible for the economy.

We have some good people running for President this time all of which are going to be better than what we have rights now. I only wish they would beat on Barrack Husane Obama instead of each other, so that when the time comes the person elected to become President can take advantage of some of the other talent in the pool such as Ron Paul who sould made Secretary of the Treasury, and Sarah Palin should made Secretary of Interior, if she accept.
