Food Stamps Up 45%; Federal Handouts Up 32%

Is Obama turning the country into a welfare society and away from one focused on opportunity?

While it’s true that the country has been headed in this direction for many years — with the explosion in entitlements since the 1960s and the aging of the population — Obama has, in fact, greatly accelerated the trend. Examples:

Direct payments. The amount of money the federal government hands out in direct payments to individuals steadily increased over the past four decades, but shot up under Obama, climbing by almost $600 billion — a 32% increase — in his first three years. And Obama’s last budget called for these payments to climb another $500 billion by 2016, at which point they would account for fully two-thirds of all federal spending.

People getting benefits. According to the Census Bureau 49% now live in homes where at least one person gets a federal benefit — Social Security, workers comp, unemployment, subsidized housing, and the like. That’s up from 44% the year before Obama took office, and way up from 1983, when fewer than a third were government beneficiaries.

Misinformation or lack of knowledge in addition to denial, sometimes , lead to vacuous comments.

To critics of the Food Stamp program, I ask the following:

1 – How many people are presently receiving
food stamps?

2 – What is the racial,ethnic and ages
breakdown of recipients?

3 – How much money is spent on direct food
stamp benefits?
4 – How do food stamps impact on the
continued existance of food growers and
manufacturers?
5 – How do food stamps impact on the
continued employment of those in the
food and other related sectors ie: food
market?
6 – How does this continued employment
effect their buying power for other
goods and services?

Were it not for the food stamp program our economy would be in worst shape than it is now, and the rolls of the unemployed would be
much more than it is now.

I do not avail myself of food stamps, but, I do use coupons and keep tabs for those buy one and get one free deals.

You can answer your own questions with a little research on the Internet. However, your statement “Were it not for the food stamp program our economy would be in worst shape than it is now, and the rolls of the unemployed would be much more than it is now” is not only vacuous but wrong. Why then don’t we just put everybody on welfare (food stamps, subsidies etc.)? Then we would all be better off and the economy would be fine, wouldn’t it? When you “pay” people to do something, they get better at it. When you “pay” people not to be indolent, they become more unproductive and dependent on us “producers”. You are parroting Nan Pelosi’s comments about unemployment payments being good for the economy. Look what it’s done for California.

Hearmetalk,,– here’s how much of an Obama Boy I am but this would mean your dumbass would have to pay your fair share even if you were on welfare which I suspect is a fact. NO ONE would go without paying, period and falsifying your application would automatically get you 10 years in the federal penn where you’ll get all you need to survive and a cell mate you’ll get acquitted with real quick. To avoid having to house people like you ate MY expense here’s what I want to see done.

Step #1 = Abolish the IRS and all of its tax codes immediately.

Step #2 = Establish a flat 10% tax rate plus a 2% VAT tax where your annual tax obligation is automatically withdrawn from each paycheck. This 10% withdraw will cover the individuals state and federal obligation for the year with no need to ever file a 1040 form. There’s to be no other taxes of any kind for any reason. The 10% is distributed at 2% to the state and 8% the federal government and is to be frozen at 10% for eternity. A 2% VAT is to assure those that make the most and therefore spend the most will be the ones who pay the most because they buy the most.

Step # 3 = State, Federal and VAT taxes are to be frozen forever and will never be more than 10% of you earnings / profits and since all earnings and sales are electronically recorded you cannot hide / shelter them.

If the United States of America cannot run it’s government on 10% of everyone’s income then shut down all non essential programs and keep only those a 10% tax + 2% VAT will support. In conjunction with the fair taxation plan comes no borrowing to sustain or support any programs, period, and the books must be balanced on Dec 31st of each year with the results posted in real time; allowing the public to see where their money is being spent.

Only you the tax paying people of America can stop the insanity of being taxed into poverty and used as a never ending involuntary donor to support the parasite of this world. If you have no balls to abolish the IRS or to mandate the establishment of a fair tax policy, then just change your name to JB ( Johnny Bendover ) and smile as they molest you and your children relentlessly for eternity.

As it stands now and with the current IRS tax code this is exactly what they’re doing to you at this moment.

It’s time for a cashless society worldwide so we can get our financials in order and assure we are all sharing the tax load equally.

This fair tax described above would eliminate all taxes except for federal, states and the 2% VAT.

Where we are in America actually started in 1913 with the Unfederal Reserves and IRS. It took a big leap forward under FDR and the “New Deal System” and again under LBJ. Progressives are in both parties and several R have played a hand in Anti-American, Anti-Christ activities.The intent is to get a certain number of people on assistance,or control of the State.A serious concern of mine is Fan/Fred holding 90 plus% of the mortgages in America, which stinks.Our leaders have allowed the People to be set up.I pray that the traps that have been set for the People will snare those that set them.This is the push for a Dictatorship once all collapses.Their plot will fail and their wealth will be transferred to the righteous,in the name of Christ Jesus,Amen.

What I can’t figure out is if Obama succeeds in getting everyone on welfare or unemployment, food stamps, medicaid, who is going to be left to pay for all of this – who will be working to pay taxes to pay for this? Oh, right, the billionaires will just have to cough up more of there money to do this for Obama. And I totally realize that this is all Bush’s fault….. really? Give me a break. Nothing Obama has done in his 3 years has helped the problem. In fact, he has prolonged the problem with his idiotic policies and Obamacare and appeasing the unions, environmentalists, illegals and Democrats. I don’t know if this is repairable now but if Obama gets 4 more years, it won’t be. America as we knew it will be gone – permanently.

I, too, lament the trend to greater entitlements. (A word. By the way, I dislike.)

But to classify social security, title I, in that group is disengenius. It is an onsurance program funded by recipent. Albeit, it was never intended for life expectancies into the mid 80s as they are today. when social was “fixed” during Reagan’s administration, the life expectancy at retir
benefit should have indexed to it when the individual retires. Excluding the rise in title I payees, what it the rise in the entitlement? I am sure that it is still significant.

Obama is not going to stop until everyone is on the dole. When we can’t get a job and pay for our homes then we lose them. This is how he plans to do away with private property. Obama is a dirtbag commie and so are many of his administration. Some are just too stupid to realize it. Remember, communism is the tool of the devil. History proves it. Communism is basically atheism. I have read and researched heavily these last 5 years and this is the conclusion I have come to.

I read about chairman Mao’s “Great Leap Forward”, where he tried to prove to the world that communism works. After 4 years and 60 million deaths, he only proved that it does not work. The Ten Commandments were given to humanity to help us have the best life we possibly could. God knows we are not perfect and we need constant guidance. Communism works to get rid of God so how can it work? We must go back to God if we want to save America.
