RUSH: Nina Totenberg. This was actually Sunday morning on the syndicated Inside Washington. I thought this program aired on Friday, but it doesn’t matter. It’s a local Washington, DC, show, and this is what she said…

TOTENBERG: These agencies, including the Defense Department, don’t know how much money they’ve got and for what. And I was at a (snickers) — you’ll forgive the expression — a Christmas party at the Department of Justice, and people were actually really worried about this.

RUSH: Forgive me. “I was at a — you’ll forgive the expression — a Christmas party at the Department of Justice…” So Nina Totenberg didn’t want anybody feeling bad about her for going to a “Christmas party,” so she says: Forgive me, I have to say this. She wants her buds in Washington to be down on her because she went to a Christmas party. Yeah. Yeah, I didn’t enjoy myself there! Well, would you? Would you enjoy yourself at a Christmas party at the Department of Justice (laughing), at this Department of Justice?

    Jan, this site – The Patriot Updte. They’re selling Christmas Cards excluding listing the holiday but they list Hanukkah, Kwanzaa AND Ramadan, but NO CHRISTMAS! It’s listed under “Parody Holiday Card”, you’ll find it.

      Maureen: Don’t you think it’s because the site is discussing parodies and doesn’t want Christmas to have any more base attacks against the tradition? I’m glad Christmas is not on the list since it is for parodies. It would be different if it were for the actual celebration of Christmas.

First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all. So toutenburg had to apologize and ask forgiveness for using the term Christmas; does she not understand that only God can dispense true forgiveness??? I have an ideal Christmas present for toutenburg: A one way ticket to the Middle East (preferably Iran) and a brand new burkkah for her to don once she arrives at her new home. She should be quite comfortable there; the only thing she will need to adjust to is keeping her mouth shut or she will be arrested, tried, convicted, and stoned to death for stepping out of line–women do not count in that area of the globe.

It’s amazing how the left has gotten away with using the tactic of the minority taking offense to attack and diminish the religious and cultural traditions of the vast majority.
All you need is just one ACLU supporter to challenge a school district which may be allowing some acknowledgment of the religious meaning Christmas to spoil it for the vast majority. And if the school district doesn’t kowtow to the ACLU, it may be coerced into paying the ACLU’s legal fees by some far-left judge. This could only be accomplished with the aid of the courts, which have succumbed to bankrupt theories like the extreme interpretation of the “separation of church and State” which is no where in the Constitution. It’s why Barack Obama must be defeated in 2012 or we will get more such judges appointed to the federal bench.
