Palin Gearing Up for a White House Run?

With the GOP 2012 pack losing several big names following no-go announcements for Mitch Daniels, Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a bold step toward a possible presidential bid this week.

Palin has sent out some 400,000 direct-mail fundraising letters targeting voters in several early primary states – a move sure to get pundits’ tongues wagging. Also, on Sunday news broke that she may have purchased a home in Arizona, which could provide her a “Lower 48” base not only for a presidential bid but also a possible Senate campaign in 2012, both Fox News and the Arizona Republic reported.

Palin has been rumored to be considering headquartering her 2012 White House campaign, if there is one, in Scottsdale. She also has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by the retiring Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.

Just last month, Palin launched a new website for her PAC with significantly ramped-up content and features, including the ability to capture email and other information so useful in political fundraising.

Because of the extraordinary appeal both Palin and Bachmann enjoy with grass-roots conservatives, some analysts have speculated that if one announces it could preclude the other from running. But Bachmann told Fox News on Tuesday that she will make her own decision, independently of whether the former Alaska governor opts to run.
Palin is a paid contributor for Fox News. Like Huckabee, she will eventually have to decide whether she wants to work for Fox, or run for office.

In her letter to potential donors — logoed “From the Desk of Gov. Sarah Palin” — the author, TV personality, and former vice-presidential candidate gives no hint she covets the highest office in the land.

The massive mailing by Palin, at the very least, will show whether she can use the vacuum generated by Huckabee’s exit to raise a blizzard of bucks on behalf of conservatives.

    If we end up with a Herman Cain and either Palin or Bachman, we’d then see REAL racism and sexism from Progressives. I believe this strategy would help to neutralize Obama’s advantages with certain voting blocks:
    
    1) It would force LP’s to demonize two minorities they allegedly support

    3) challenge women voters

        “Conservative” comes from “conserve,” which means to “maintain,” “retain” – “protect from change.” The original Conservatives were resistant to change. They wanted to maintain the status quo, keep things as they are (e.g., traditions). That’s what it truly means to be “Conservative.” The term has been bastardized to mean all sorts of other things that have nothing to do with the movements origins. But make no mistake, the last thing “Conservatives” want to do move forward (i.e., progress).
        
        The Conservatives 200+ years ago, particularly Conservatives from the South, argued against, not for, independence from England. The original Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson wrote spoke out against slavery, but Southern Conservatives would not sign it unless the section against slavery was removed. Northern Conservatives argued that those who wanted challenged the government were unpatriotic and would have nothing to fear from the government if they weren’t doing anything wrong (sound familiar? of course the “government” at the time was the King of England). But that’s the real history.
        
        We got our freedoms despite the Conservatives over 200 years ago, not because of them. As much as you people are unable to admit or accept it, this country broke away from the traditions of that time. There is nothing “conservative” about that. This country was founded by “progressive” principles of the time of self-governance. And as the country continued to make “progress,” it broke away from other traditions like slavery and denying women the right to vote. And at every step along the way, Conservatives of the time fought tooth-n-nail (until they ultimately lost and were dumped on the trash heap of history).

Risking a bunch of thumbs down I like Palin but not for president. I have kept up with Bachmann and she seems to know more about what’s going on and how it should be handled. We need to stand together with ONE VOICE and demand that ALL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES bring to the forefront of their platform the constitutionality of idiOt's right, or lack thereof, to run for the office of president. Personally I would love to hear all of the candidates that desire to step into the ring debate in the primaries. I don’t really care what the mainstream media says or other’s opinions, I want to hear what the candidates have to say.

If we are going to narrow the race down to pick a winner then it is necessary to hear each candidate and find out exactly what they have to offer. Relying on hearsay has gotten us into a lot of trouble along with having to vote for someone the party leaders have chosen. I am tired of holding my nose to vote for a candidate against the opposition.

A few good primary debates, properly run, should give us a good idea as to who will become the best GOP candidate to vote for.

Personally, Sarah Palin IS my favorite of all that wish the presidency so far. I have like her since day one. She is intelligent, she is charming, a good speaker {well maybe her pitch is a little high} but her message is true and clear and all AMERICAN. I do fear for her….. fear of what the media has in store for her. She savy and experienced with them now and maybe she can handle them and so could her candidicy attempt….
