NY Panel Wants Taxpayers to Foot Bill for Sex Change

A state panel advising Gov. Cuomo wants taxpayers to foot the bill for transgender residents to get “sexual-reassignment surgery,” allowing them to change their physical characteristics from a man to a woman or woman to man, The Post has learned.

“Provide Medicaid coverage for transgender surgery/hormone replace-ment therapy and treatment,” read the proposal submitted by the state “health disparities work group.’’

The panel is submitting recommendations to Cuomo’s Medicaid Redesign Team for possible inclusion in the governor’s budget plan.

“This is an outrageous abuse of taxpayer dollars,” said state Conservative Party chairman Mike Long

“This is an expensive mandate. We already live in the highest-taxed state in the nation.”

Long insisted sex-change procedures are cosmetic and encourage permissiveness, adding, “I hope the governor doesn’t push the envelope on this.’’

Well as far as I’m concerned these freaks of nature or anyone who thinks they want to be something other than they were born can pay for their own transformation from normal to freak of nature out of their pocket.

  Perhaps they should simply be told to purchase themselves a few injections of Testosterone or Estrogen and maintain the plumbing they were born with. Why must being gay be something I must know? Really, its none of my business and I’d prefer not to know. Many years ago I was told Eskimos excited one another by rubbing noses. Did that give them any special privileges? I don’t think so!         Second; there is a large difference between anatomical sex characteristics that is determined in the womb by a hormonal wash at one point and the Brain’s GENDER which is determined at a different point in the gestational period. One of the washes may not occur or the body or the brain may be immune to the hormone. DO keep in mind that ALL fetus start out as FEMALE.
        Now go learn some basic biology before making a donkey of yourself.

        Second, it is clear you know nothing about human biology, or how the reproductive systems works. The gender of the child is determined by the Father, not the Mother. Life begins at conception, when the sperm penetrates the egg. It is the male sperm that determines the sex of the child, not some wash as you put it. No, in humans not all conceived eggs begin as females (girls), about 48%-50% are males (boys).
        
        BTW, no one is born ‘gay’. It is a learned behavior. The natural link of human beings is to procreate. That means having more babies. You cannot do that with two men, or two women, or sex with someone who wants to be the opposite gender. It can only be done between a man and a woman.
        
        Those who want to become another gender are sick people who need serious mental help, not some horrible cosmetic mutalation of their bodies and hormone injections.

This is not a necessity regardless of what the person says. It is an elective procedure and is no more encessary than someone with a wart on their face and they want it removed.
Insurance won’t pay for cosmetic procedures so why would a city pay for sex change? If they want a sex xhange they can go to India where it is cheaper and pay for it themselves! Having their sex changed won’t solve their problems anyway.

A Transsexual has a FEMALE BRAIN structure ( proven by autopsy and other scientific tests) and a male body and desires to bring the two into congruence; The brain cannot be changed as that would alter the personality and the “person”, BUT the body can be surgically corrected to agree with the gender of the brain. Most go on in life as the women they should have been born; a doctor making an examination cannot tell the difference, but psychologically the person is now whole and complete and IS the sex/gender they should have been at birth.

You do realize that some people are born with genitals of both, don’t you? God made them this way. About 1 in 2000 births is intersex. obviously, our society necessitates choosing a gender, and if chosen at birth, this gender is sometimes wrong.

Let’s grow up and allow all humans the rights that God intended. We are all created equal. The only way to resolve the problem of us being forced to pay the medical bills of others is to have entirely private medical care. Disconnect insurance from employers. Have each family pay for its own insurance or expenses, or visit charity hospitals in time of need. We need to get government out of the charity business.

The parents, and society for that matter, may have over influenced the personality and the chosen emotional outcome may be totally wrong. Once changed, the chosen sex may not be right or appropriate for the individual and will be very difficult to reverse. Why are cosmetic changes being considered at all??? People were created in God’s image by God. Are some of those people now trying to improve on God’s plan. For the few born with both male and female organs, I think a lot more work needs to be done on: a) are both sets of organs FULLY functioning; b) who is making the decision(s) for this child; c) is it nature or nurture which determines the feelings or beliefs of children?

I do not think that taxpayer money should be used to fund any type of cosmetic surgery which is not necessary to the health of the patient ie. serious burn victims, cleft palataes to name 2.

This issue is not the taxpayers concern and since the taxpayer is footing most of the cost for the insurance that is already over subsidized as a benefit for a public employee, the answer is NO! We want affordable public servants in civil service not a bunch of niggling incessant whiners.

    Suppose you go and try to find a passage that says being TRANSSEXUAL is a sin or that correcting it anatomically is a sin. Actually the original language of the Bible says that God Separated Eve and Adam, NOT that he took a rib and “made” Eve. Remember that you had a bunch of male chauvinists that rewrote the Bible starting with the King James Version.
    It IS a Birth defect and like many birth defects is Correctable by surgery.

(No pun intended) God made us male and female for a very good reason, and that is to procreate. He did not make us male/male or female/female for any good reason.
