Drug stores lack transparency; evidence-based medicine in doubt under Obamacare

Evidence-based medicine is a concept whereby medical decisions are made based on objective studies and outcomes. It makes sense. Treatments should work in the real work, improving and extending lives and the quality of life.

Obamacare, however, is anything but ‘evidence-based’.

In fact, the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) and the local Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) of the new healthcare law will make decisions based mostly (but not entirely) on politics, regional powerbrokers, and cost. If a drug or treatment ‘sort of’ works, and it costs a lot less, then peripheral issues of side effects, efficacy, and quality of care will take a back seat.

One of the most personal and important aspects of every patient’s life is his/her reliance on prescription drugs. Nowadays, the integrity of a medical doctor’s ability to maintain a faithful and private relationship with his patients is being compromised.

With little more than a phone call to an office nurse, prescriptions are being switched by pharmacists, who are rewarded financially for such behavior. New electronic platforms mandated under the new health care reform law also serve to coerce physicians away from certain medications in favor of less expensive (and often less effective) alternative generic drugs.

    Is abybody surprised??

Looks like your ability to get health care will depend upon your political beliefs soon.
It already has come that the pharmacist has more to say about what drugs you get than the doctor does. I was having side effects from a drug and the pharmacist faxed the doctor for another drug and I had the new drug.

haditinsd, your experience wasn’t as bad as you think. I’m a pharmacist, and a big part of our job is working with MD’s so that you, the patient, ends up with medication that not only will alleviate your condition, but not cause harm in and of itself. We’ve got the computer programs, training, knowledge, etc. to help your doctor deal with things like drug reactions. And, we generally are not as rushed for time. That being said, Obamacare is a disaster that must be derailed.

This is just another little surprise coming out from Obamacare. There is a new unwelcome surprise every day from this boondoggle of a plan he came up with and it is not good in almost anyway for the people of America. From a man who would rule by a Dictatorship and be a “King” in his own mind you that voted for him will pay dearly in money, loss of freedoms and rights and so much more. Thanks you idiots! You keep the change, I’ll take the past as bad as it got at times, but nothing like this administration and the actions of our Democratic Congress. The biggest rats in the pack are Obama, Reid, and Pelosi the crazy broad from California. Why is it that so many nuts land in that state?…What attracts them??. Lord help us all.

You can’t trust this Kenyan National with anything. Why would you trust anything he has to do with with your medications??

What difference does it make that this illegal negro is screwing America like a Rapist in a Virgin Dormitory? The American people have become so stupid and gullible that they will believe anything without questioning or researching the validity of any statement or promise made by this illegal immigrant negro.

HMMMMMM! “Very Interesting Bit Of Detective Work”
    1. Back in 1961 people of color were called ‘Negroes.’
So how can the Obama ‘birth certificate’ state he is
‘African-American’ when the term wasn’t even used at that time?
    2. The birth certificate that the White House released lists
Obama’s birth as August 4, 1961. It also lists Barack Hussein
Obama as his father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama’s
birth, it also shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that
Obama’s father was born in ” Kenya, East Africa “. This wouldn’t
seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not
even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama’s birth, and
27 years after his father’s birth. How could Obama’s father have
been born in a country that did not yet exist? Up and until Kenya
was formed in 1963, it was known then as the “British East Africa
    Protectorate”.
    3. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed
place of birth is “Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital”.
This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were
called “KauiKeolani Children’s Hospital” and “Kapi’olani Maternity
Home”, respectively. The name did not change to Kapi’olani
Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two
hospitals merged. How can this particular name of the hospital
be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been
    applied to it until 1978?
