Outrageous! Fed Goal: Devalue The Dollar 33%‎

Thursday, February 9, 2012

fed reserve board

The Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) has made it official:  After its latest two day meeting, it announced its goal to devalue the dollar by 33% over the next 20 years.  The debauch of the dollar will be even greater if the Fed exceeds its goal of a 2 percent per year increase in the price level.

An increase in the price level of 2% in any one year is barely noticeable.  Under a gold standard, such an increase was uncommon, but not unknown.  The difference is that when the dollar was as good as gold, the years of modest inflation would be followed, in time, by declining prices. As a consequence, over longer periods of time, the price level was unchanged.  A dollar 20 years hence was still worth a dollar.

But, an increase of 2% a year over a period of 20 years will lead to a 50% increase in the price level.  It will take 150 (2032) dollars to purchase the same basket of goods 100 (2012) dollars can buy today.  What will be called the “dollar” in 2032 will be worth one-third less (100/150) than what we call a dollar today.

The best the Fed can do — an average debauch in the dollar’s value of 2% a year while producing recurring financial crises and a more cyclical economy — is demonstrably inferior to the results produced by the classical gold standard.  Here’s just one example.   The largest gold discovery of modern times set off the 1849 California gold rush and increased the supply of gold in the world faster than the increase in the output of goods and services.  The price level in the U.S. did increase by12.4 percent over the next 8 years.  That translates into an average of just 1.5% a year.  The gold standard at its worst was better than the best the Fed now promises to do with the paper dollar.

The Fed’s best is hardly good enough.  The time has arrived for the American people to demand something far better — a dollar as good as gold.

33% , HHMMM??? that means goober-mint workers & politicians will get a 33% increase as COLA!!!!!

    • David

Another way to redistribute your money. Obama told us when he told Joe the plumber. It is a raid on your savings accounts, your property, everything you own. He warned you , but few are listening.

  • brunch20

This approach is ridicules. The devaluation of the dollar will effect every person in this country by 30% over the next 20 years. Our current government needs to cut their out of control spending, excessive budgets, unnecessary buearacricy and waste. They are the ones that spent us into this problem and they should be the ones that make the governmental adjustments. hey got us into this mess and government, not the people, shoud make the necessary sacrifices to get us out of their mess.

    • OneCitizenOfTheRepublic

Let’s be clear. They want to debase the USD over all other currencies in the world…that is to say, that virtually EVERY THING WE PURCHASE THAT IS MADE OVERSEAS WILL GO UP 50% vs our domestic value of today. That is a cut in the standard of living for all Americans vs. the rest of the world…

And…they have the gaul to say it in the open…lock and load my friends…it’s going to be a shooting war.

    • Randy131

I hate to tell you the bad news, but they’ve already devalued the US Dollar by at least 33%, by inflation that just hasn’t caught up to the present as of yet, but because of ‘Quantative Easing I & II’, it will be upon us as soon as the economy comes back to normal. Bernanke implemented ‘Quatitative Easing I & II’ to cover the record setting 1.5 trillion dollar yearly deficits of Obama’s, and if his last year turns out like his first 3, then there will have to be a ‘Quantative Easing III’, because as the first two were required to make up the difference the US Treasury had between revenue and what US Treasury Bonds they were able to sell, to the huge amount of Obama’s deficits, and since his last year is projected to also be more than the revenue and the sale of US Treasury Bonds, the 3rd ‘Quantitative Easing’ then needed will cause inflation to devalue the US Dollar by 50%, when the economy returns to normal.

Remember back to 1963 when a dollar in change was equal to the oz of silver that was in the coins,That same dollar in silver coins is now worth $33.77 in paper currency.Or better put your paper dollar today is only worth .03 cents of the 1964 dollar in change. Maybe it is time to go back to a real currency backed by Silver and Gold. I know I wouldn’t mind working for $100 a week if I could sill buy $3377 worth of stuff for it.

    • Jake

1963 was the last year we actually had “change” we could believe in! Might be a good time to start making our money out of lead so at least it keeps it’s trading value and the only inflation they will have to worry about then is when the powder ignites.

    • Cutlass1

True, I live and work in Japan. When I got here two years ago one dollar bought around 92 – 93 yen. Now one dollar buys 74 – 75 yen. The Japanese government tries to prop up the dollar over here by buying dollars, it’s a race to the bottom for both countries because the Japanese economy can not sustain that and Obama keeps printing more dollars to devalue it further. As an example, the rent for my house when I got here was around 1200 U.S. dollars, it now averages 1500.

      Lamentations 1

1 [a]How deserted lies the city,
      once so full of people!
How like a widow is she,
who once was great among the nations!
She who was queen among the provinces
      has now become a slave.

2 Bitterly she weeps at night,
      tears are on her cheeks.
      Among all her lovers
there is no one to comfort her.
      All her friends have betrayed her;
      they have become her enemies.

3 After affliction and harsh labor,
      Judah has gone into exile.
      She dwells among the nations;
      she finds no resting place.
All who pursue her have overtaken her
in the midst of her distress.

4 The roads to Zion mourn,
for no one comes to her appointed festivals.
      All her gateways are desolate,
      her priests groan,
      her young women grieve,
and she is in bitter anguish.

      5 Her foes have become her masters;
      her enemies are at ease.
The LORD has brought her grief
      because of her many sins.
Her children have gone into exile,
      captive before the foe.

6 All the splendor has departed
      from Daughter Zion.
      Her princes are like deer
      that find no pasture;
      in weakness they have fled
      before the pursuer.

7 In the days of her affliction and wandering
      Jerusalem remembers all the treasures
that were hers in days of old.
When her people fell into enemy hands,
there was no one to help her.
      Her enemies looked at her
      and laughed at her destruction.

      8 Jerusalem has sinned greatly
      and so has become unclean.
All who honored her despise her,
      for they have all seen her naked;
      she herself groans
      and turns away.

      9 Her filthiness clung to her skirts;
she did not consider her future.
      Her fall was astounding;
there was none to comfort her.
      “Look, LORD, on my affliction,
      for the enemy has triumphed.”

      10 The enemy laid hands
      on all her treasures;
      she saw pagan nations
      enter her sanctuary—
      those you had forbidden
      to enter your assembly.

      11 All her people groan
      as they search for bread;
they barter their treasures for food
      to keep themselves alive.
      “Look, LORD, and consider,
      for I am despised.”

12 “Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
      Look around and see.
Is any suffering like my suffering
      that was inflicted on me,
that the LORD brought on me
in the day of his fierce anger?

13 “From on high he sent fire,
sent it down into my bones.
He spread a net for my feet
      and turned me back.
      He made me desolate,
      faint all the day long.

      14 “My sins have been bound into a yoke[b];
by his hands they were woven together.
They have been hung on my neck,
and the Lord has sapped my strength.
He has given me into the hands
      of those I cannot withstand.

      15 “The Lord has rejected
      all the warriors in my midst;
he has summoned an army against me
      to[c] crush my young men.
In his winepress the Lord has trampled
      Virgin Daughter Judah.

16 “This is why I weep
and my eyes overflow with tears.
No one is near to comfort me,
no one to restore my spirit.
      My children are destitute
      because the enemy has prevailed.”

17 Zion stretches out her hands,
but there is no one to comfort her.
The LORD has decreed for Jacob
      that his neighbors become his foes;
      Jerusalem has become
      an unclean thing among them.

      18 “The LORD is righteous,
yet I rebelled against his command.
      Listen, all you peoples;
      look on my suffering.
My young men and young women
      have gone into exile.

19 “I called to my allies
      but they betrayed me.
      My priests and my elders
      perished in the city
      while they searched for food
      to keep themselves alive.

20 “See, LORD, how distressed I am!
      I am in torment within,
and in my heart I am disturbed,
for I have been most rebellious.
      Outside, the sword bereaves;
      inside, there is only death.

21 “People have heard my groaning,
but there is no one to comfort me.
      All my enemies have heard of my distress;
they rejoice at what you have done.
May you bring the day you have announced
so they may become like me.

      22 “Let all their wickedness come before you;
      deal with them
as you have dealt with me
      because of all my sins.
      My groans are many
      and my heart is faint.”

    • America 1

Sobering. With only a few word changes, this could be America, she having turned from God is becoming like Jerusalem in Lamentations. Very apt!

    • Dano in Texas

Reads like the Quatrains of Nostradamus!

Anyway, they are already more than halfway to their stated goal. I don’t think it will make much difference in 20 years because there will be no more US Dollars. We will be on the Chinese Yuan as the world’s reserve currency. Of course there will be much civil unrest first.

    • rotor 700

We all need to do our best to get Ron Paul elected. It is our last hope to restore this Republic to its greatness. Do not listen to the LAME MEDIA WHORES who are constantly trying to belittle, and discredit Paul. We really need to get this man elected, unless you do not give a damn about our constitution, and bill of rights.

    • d rash

THANKFULLY AND MERCIFULLY, RON PAUL IS TOAST! Thank the Lord! Praise GOD! And yes, I do care about the country, and that is exactly why oppose Ron Paul. Just because you have drank the kool-aid of la la land, doesn’y mean everyone has!!!

    • Julius Lohr

PLEASE!!!!! Ron Paul’s presidency would be the biggest disaster to ever befall America!! None of you narrow-minded loons seem to acknowledge his abominable foreign policy stance and his doctrine of military impotence!!!! His promises of fiscal responsibility are just regurgitated words coming from a different somewhat decrepit mouth!

    • Rick

Peace? How abominable. War is for the narrow minded like yourself. You should either be on the next ship to middle east or shut your mouth.

    • BigIron

Before you criticize Ron Paul’s foreign policy I suggest you would be well served to find out what that policy actually not just the ranting of a “statist” controlled media.
I agree with RP and I find it disgusting that our military is being abused by being the shills for the “power elite”. We have Marines in Afganistan who are set to guarding opium poppy fields for the “power elite”. Last I heard the opium pipeline was back up to 80% of pre-Taliban levels; they did not agree with opium production.
Understanding the world is not the simple sound-bites that the “power elite” controlled media (both “conservative” and “liberal”) espouses for “their” own devious purposes and which is NOT in any way intended to benefit the American people.

    • pikemaster

Sorry but the biggest mess is already in place in Washington. just behind the Billy Clinton mess a few years before that !

    • Wayne Peterkin

Your dedication to Mr. Paul is touching, but misguided. No matter how attractive his policies may sound, and some of them appear attractive, most of them have no chance whatsoever of becoming law. For example, no matter how well intended, the Federal Reserve is not going away nor will we see the gold standard re-implemented. The best we can hope for today is a dramatic reduction in federal spending and a strong balanced budget amendment and we need a large change in Congress to see that much. I will say that given the choice between Obama and Ron Paul, I would vote for Paul; but he is not my best choice at all. I read his book and he scares me.

    • Ladyliberty

Time to start buying gold and silver asap. These metals will go up up and away if they devalue the dollar by 33%. You have 20 years to get yourself in financial order.

This is very scary… Just buy up whatever you can and put it away..Especially high ticket items for you know the price will go sky high…. Tools to repair what ever you have. Looks like we may go back to the frontier days. I just hope that Pelosi’s stitches all fall out. That twit robbed us plenty…

    • del

So did old harry, dodd, frank, kerry, clintons, obozo, most of the 111th congress, waters, boxer, schumer, rangel, etc etc etc….all of them should be impeached and in prison for life!

    • Joe

  • Cincinnatus

Don’t devalue the dollar – just confiscate every dime the Fed Bankers, Buffett, Soros, those on Wall Street who support B. Insane Obama, and the DNC own and apply it to the national debt as a downpayment on the federal debt. Afterwards they can work the rest of it off by bread and water. These guys aren’t working for us as they are supposed to, they have raped and pilfered our coffers and now they are trying to bankrupt every American.

    • BigIron

Until the people realize that BOTH the Democrats and Republicans are products of and are controlled by the “power elite” nothing will or can change. The “power elite” are the international bankers and corporations including the military-industrial complex with the aid of the central banks via inflation, deflation and depression stolen the wealth, not only of OUR country but of ALL the world for their own SELFISH ends.
ALL the wars we have fought were for their benefit, the CROWN, the VATICAN, the ILLUMINATI, MONSANTO, etc.
They ARE the writers of the history in our schools so the real truth must be searched for outside the system and in the archives where those archives are still accessible.

  • CAllenDoudna

Odamna has already given us more inflation than that!

  • Sam Lasley

If only the dollar would decline by 33% over the next 20 years. In a matter of fact, we are on our way right now to a decline in the purchasing power of the dollar of 50% within the next two years, or sooner if the Marxist is re-elected.

  • MIKE

Ammunition will soon be the new currency.

    • seabee combat vet

Time to rid America of oblowhole, as he is the nemesis of all!

    • John

If that’s the case, I’m loaded for bear or coons for that matter.

    • BigIron

That is called investment in “negotiable, precious metals”.

  • Vandagriff

Isn’t this the same as stealing half of what we have if it takes $50 more to buy $100 worth of goods?

    • Stan

That is one of the things Ron Paul warned about, when he said we need to audit the fed then shut it down.If he is not elected, tax inflation wont matter, they will steal it thru the devalued currency.

  • luangtom

Well, folks, just remember that Obama is agreeing with the UN on a national-tax for the US to send to the UN for their ear-marks. When is the country going to wake-up and know it is being sold down the river by this administration? Why can’t the sheeple see past the MSM and know these things are happening as we write? I have little hope for this nation and its future. Scary…..

    • John

Why would anyone vote for Obama the fool. Are the citizens of this country that stupid? Don’t they see and understand what he’s doing and what the results will be if he’s re-elected? Any person with half a brain and one eye should be able to see it.

    • John Wayne

That’s the problem. The people voting for him are idiots!

    • Donna

No the dumb and dumber in our population cannot see past the freebies and entitlements that they receive. We have contributed to the “gimme generation” in every way and now this bunch calls us racists!
Well, then I am racist, as I believe in the Constitution and the rights of We The People! I am sick of giving my hard earned money to people who cannot see what marxist dumbo is doing to America! This illegal freak has the dumb and dumber groups eating our of his hand! He keeps promising them that he will take care of them!!! No he is not taking care of them now nor will he in the future! He has become a dictator…and then he will control these dumbo groups. They cannot read, they will not listen, they keep on with their way of life thinking that everything will be OK!
They are all wrong…..we are loosing our freedoms day by day and the people sit and say “it will be OK”……our country is rapidly becoming a third world country!
The FED is only ONE major issue we need to take control of ………

    • BigIron

Why someone will vote for OBAMA:
      1. They attended the government, socialist-controlled schools and therefor cannot think critically.
      2. They are dependent upon the taxpayer’s (OUR) money for their standard-of-living not their own productivity.
      3. They actually believe the stuff that the MSM and so-called “conservative” media feed the “sheeple” (liberal and conservative) as dictated by the “power elite” (look not only at what is said but what is NOT said”.
      4. The Republican party establishment (controlled by the “power elite” has pushed only the current lineup of “statist” candidates that are already “bought and paid for” by the “power elite”, none of whom I could vote for for “dog catcher”.
SO, who DO you vote for … OBAMA or OBAMA lite?
The “establishment has tried to totally discredit RON PAUL (with the willing aid of the “conservative” media) the ONLY true Constitutional conservative running and, probably, the only one who really understands the problems we are faced with and, definitely, the only one who WILL ACTUALLY make a difference if elected.
Ron Paul’s message about his intent for the security our nation and our military has been spun to discredit him as being weak but in reality he is for a STRONG security for our Country, much stronger than we currently have, BUT not involving ourselves in military/police actions that benefit the purposes of the “power elite” to which our politicians (both Republican and Democrat) have totally sold out our country and our military. Is it any wonder that Ron Paul receives very substantially more contributions from our ACTIVE military than ANY other candidate of either party?
And, Ron Paul is right: the Federal Reserve IS, indeed, EVIL. The Federal Reserve and IRS have stolen the wealth of the American people and given it to the international bankers and the Congress has sold out to the international corporations, the international bankers and are the minions of the “power elite”.

This is really sad to watch what our government and the president are doing to America and i advise others to buy other currencies like i have and also purchase silver and gold but silver may be more affordable for most like me
its sad to see what is happening ,im glad im 60 years old and saw some good days in America for im not a happy camper anymore

The way things are going, it appears that revolution is a real alternative. I doubt that the current process will provide a candidate that is acceptable to most of the republican voters.
If obomination is reelected, I see little chance that a revolution can be avoided.

  • Henry V. Lake

    Where are the true Americans?
Those that will finally take a stand and shut the country down if that is the only options.
The present unions are as self serving as the elected congress.

    • Dano in Texas

Personally, I do not believe there are many true Americans in the major metropolitan areas of the East Coast or the West Coast. The majority seem to exist everywhere in between.

150 years ago, my gg-grandfather was shot in the leg at the battle of Gaines Mill in Virginia. What he was fighting for then, I am still fighting for now.

  • patriot2

great,if obama wanted to start a revolution before he really want’s one now,Ann Rand you are correct, store up what you can now, along with plenty of ammo just in case obamas private police force comes to your door.they should be easy to spot, they look like the black panthers.

    • patriot2

that is,just like the black panthers at your local voting place, armed with weapons from whatever batfe gun running operation they come up with next.

It is gonna take a real revolt to get this country right again.!! Are you ready ?

  • 32eagle

I think we should volunteer Obama for a Mars Mission- only we won’t tell him he aint on airforce one- it will be more like airforce “clone”-rigged with rockets and no radio no computer nobody else-we will get our dollar situated as soon as Obama is wedged between a fuel crisis and a lack of air crisis way out in outer space

    • Capitalust

Now THERE’S a pair of crises even I wouldn’t want to waste. Ever read “The Marching Morons” – you just described their final solution to increasing population and decreasing IQs… only they did it on an industrial scale. I hear the hams and blankets grow on trees on Venus – I think the Obamas would really LOVE it there. Let’s send them IMMEDIATELY.

  • Jack

The plan since creation of the fed central bank has been to siphon off American wealth and resources. The fed central bank was formed by foreign elite and crooked US polticians (did someone say Jekyll Island?).

Now that the economy has been sufficiently weakened/allocated and our wealth used to build up other foreign governments overseas now they are looking for a new fat host…perhaps China, Brazil, or India.

So they plan to steal everything they can from the people of the US in this last phase until the US is reduced to a third world economy. They will keep sending money overseas while squeezing everything out of the US until economically completely collapsed.

I have been saying globalists are not our friends, now the proof is right before our eyes (for all that have their eyes open). We must purge our society at every level of globalists and fantics (local, county, state, fed, educational, media, etc.)….if it’s not already too late.

I’ve already been financially destroyed by the global agenda. For those yet untouched beware, prepare, and exercise caution.

  • Remington 870

Obama and his thugs are doing everything necessary to destroy this country. Meanwhile, back at the Congressional Ranch where the GOP cowboys praise themselves for wearing white hats, they continue to get out smarted by Black Bart Obama and his thugs. As a card carrying Republican, I can honestly say I despise the GOP and consider them as guilty as Obama. I am buying more ammo and getting a scoped rifle.

    • David

There is actually nothing the GOP can do right now but ride it out. Everything is going exactly as I expected it would after taking back the House. I knew and I hope everyone else who voted in 2010 also knew that this would happen. However, the idea or my thinking was to STOP Nobama’s spending, PERIOD. If nothing else, considering Obama’s first 2 year’s, I figure the GOP has saved our country at least 2.1 Trillion dollar’s by stopping his sending. He had spent 4 trillion in his first 2 year’s, in 13 month’s since the Republican’s took back the House, debt only went up 1.2 trillion more, so they (The GOP House)are doing their job…

    • guestresponder

Where did they stop his spending?

    • Rick

The Bernak was a GWB appointee. This bank has been screwing the citizenry for a decade and doesn’t give a damn about you.

    • Capitalust

I recommend an ACOG scope – bit pricy at $900 (that was back in 2008), but well worth it. Pride of ownership – higher body count. And even if it isn’t semi auto, it’s hard to beat a bolt action .303 for those long head shots. The combo is quite the ticket. Lock and load! And don’t forget quality ammo.

  • David

Does this IDIOT ever STOP ????? Can you imagine that he is so delusional that he think’s his presidency has been the fourth best of ALL President’s. So far, I have him at the TOP, The WORST, not first…
Folk’s, we have to get EVERYONE to the poll’s this year, even if we have to drag them. All family, even the newly 18 y/o’s that haven’t been BS’d by this idiot and hasn’t been affected by his promise of freebie’s…
If the Republican’s do not take it ALL back this time, we will be in a revolution or we’ll become the USSA, so it’s up to US ALL to get everypone we know Registered and to the poll’s, PLEASE

  • Andrea B

Ron Paul is the only guy talking about auditing and ending the Federal Reserve.

    Ron Paul 2012

    • Bacon

The last one who spoke seriously about ending the federal preserve is dead.. you know.. some unheard of lunatic made an impossible shot which the Zapruder absolutely proves can’t have actually happened, (to anyone who knows diddly about blowing holes in peoples’ heads). I doubt RP would live long if elected and kept up that anti-fed stuff.

  • Erskine

In 1913 when the fed was created in the dark of night, gold was about $20.00 and now it is about $1600.00
That is an 8000% devaluation of the dollar in 100 yrs.
I see no hope for this country without God’s intervention.
Many of the “dumb masses” (say that to yourself real fast) actually think that they want socialism.

    • David

That’s b/c as you stated, they are Dumb masses.. These kid’s think that Socialism is nothing but Freebies for all and think everything else continue’s as it does every other day. They don’t realize, that under Socialism, EVERYTHING stop’s, even those freebie’s as they know them now. Under a real Socialist/communist gov’t, no one has a reason to create or invent b/c the Gov’t get’s it, so the money goes away, therefore taxes go away, therefore FREEBIES go away. They must not know what happened to Russia. Russian’s before the fall in 91, would have to stand in line for HOUR’S waiting on the 100 loaves of bread the corner market had, NOTHING else, that’s ALL they had. Then they wait another week for a little rice, etc etc. Socialism isn’t as rosie as they all think.

Every branch of the goverment liars and cheet the American people every day of the week. As far and the dollar and its buying power goes our inflation is well over 2% per year. As an explane a loaf of reasonably quality bead three year ago was less than $1.00, but it is now around $4.00, is taht 2% inflation? Three years ago a gallon of regular gasoline was less than $2.00 and it now almost $4.00 per gallon, is this only 2% inflation? When you went the store and got a bag food that cost about $30 and today you get that same amount food it more like $130 for that same bag, is that 2% inflation.

If we are unlucky to get another four years of this Administration will the US Dollar have even the buy power of today’s Zimbabwe Dollar.

I’m surprised no one has yet mentioned imports and exports. A cheaper dollar means that imports to America become more expensive and exports from America become cheaper.

And when that happens, who gets jobs creation and who doesn’t? Jobs end up getting created in the United States, as more and more companies realize it’s cheaper to do manufacture in the US for goods that are to be sold in the US (and elsewhere).

China does this already, largely because they plan to export most of their goods.

At any rate, if you buy mostly American goods, you will not notice it too much. I lived in South Korea during the 1997-98 economic crisis, when the currency fell by 50% in just a few months: If you bought only South Korean goods, there was little change in your life (fuel was the one major exception).

    • niles

American goods only become cheaper to other countries, not to Americans. The dollar stills buys less. I live in S. Korea now. The $1400 per month my wife and I receive from SSI retirement is now worth $814 Thank you Obama. May the bird of paradise fly up your nose.

    • kushibo

98% of Americans live in America, where the price of goods will change little if the dollar becomes devalued. You feel the effect primarily because you are living abroad.

Meanwhile, the fact the dollar buys less foreign goods means fewer imports and more exports, which means more manufacturing jobs in America.

Anyway, stay warm, niles. I see it’s been mighty cold there the past week or so.

Our enemies are not leaving any stone unturned, in ther efforts to ruin our economy and bring us to our knees. They will never be content until they have absolute control over every aspect of our life. This attempt to devalue our currency goes along with their attempts to abolish our Christian religion, make a mockery of our education programs, control the labor force, take further control of our lives through the health program they have forced upon us. Little by little, they are taking control of every thing we do, and we have allowed them to do so. The very people we have elected (hired) to manage our government, and protect our Constitution, are part of the group that is out to destroy us. Each time Congress, and the Supreme Court, allows the Executive Brance to violate OUR CONSTITUTION emboldens them to go a little further. We the people have the God given and Constitutional right to control our own destiny, and we had better begin to demand that right or we will lose it.

  • Capitalust

There is no way they could keep the rate DOWN to 2% per year. From 1971 to present, gold went from $41 an ounce to $1700 (or so) an ounce. An increase of 4150% (a factor of 41.5). That is 41 years. The 41st root of 41.5 is 1.0951. That means there was an AVERAGE devaluation of the dollar of 9.51% per year the entire time (some years higher, some less). Try multiplying 41 by 1.095 41 times. You will get 1700. There have been VERY few years with ONLY 2% increase. This is total BS. In the last 3 years (since Obama took office, gold has gone from $1000 to $1700). That’s average growth in the price of gold (devaluation of the dollar) of 19.3% per year (some of the highest ever). Projecting forward that is 2028 per ounce in one year, 2419 in 2, 2886 in 3, 3443 in 4, 4108 in 5, 4901 in 6, 5846 in 7, 6975 in 8, 8321 in 9, and 9927 in 10. It will take $583 to buy what cost $100 today, and in 2022, NOT 2032. I was a math major. I don’t think there is a single math major in the entire Obama administration. And actually the devaluation has accelerated the entire time Obama has been in office (by intent), so the damage will be much worse than I just projected.

  • Capitalust

In 20 years, at current average rate since Obama took office, gold would cost $57,977 an ounce. he bundle of goods that costs $100 today will cost $3410 in 2032, assuming the rate stays ONLY what it is now. It will probably be much higher. Once hyper inflation starts, the rate grows exponentially. In reality, by 2032, that bundle of goods will probably cost several billion US$. The book “When Money Dies” covers the price of things during the collapse of the German Mark in the Weimar Republic (pre WW2). This led DIRECTLY to Hitler. This is almost certainly what Obama is hoping for. HEIL OBAMA! SIEG HEIL!

    • Capitalust

Mathematically, you guys are totally fucked. That’s why I fled the country in early 2009 and have no intention of ever returning. The U.S. has economic AIDS. There is no way to turn around the current devaluation. Paper money has never worked more than a short time. Governments can never resist inflating it into total collapse.

  • Capitalust

If there had only been an average of 2% per year since 1971, gold today would cost 92.34 an ounce. Somehow though, people are willing to pay $1700 for it. They don’t seem to believe the devalution has been ONLY 2% per year. Compound growth is an awesome thing, as Einstein once observerd.

“The largest gold discovery of modern times set off the 1849 California gold rush and increased the supply of gold in the world faster than the increase in the output of goods and services. The price level in the U.S. did increase by12.4 percent over the next 8 years. That translates into an average of just 1.5% a year. The gold standard at its worst was better than the best the Fed now promises to do with the paper dollar.”

This is misinformed as well. Increasing the gold supply actually increases TOTAL WEALTH. There is no devaluation of the dollar. Printing new unbacked dollars without increase REAL WEALTH is what causes devaluation. The price of gold per ounce remained almost unchanged at $20 per ounce (forget 1.5% per year, the real change during those 8 years was ZERO). This was true over most of the life of the gold standard, until FDR came along and gave the U.S. financial AIDS. That’s why our first communist president (FDR) had to destroy the gold standard. He could not debase the currency with it in place.

  • LDKennison

I must be missing something, but I am old enough to have experienced the deflation of the dollar at this approximate rate over EVERY 20 year period. The price level of the dollar has NEVER been unchanged over any 20 year period, as this writer says, unless possibly if you include the worst years of the depression. That’s what normal inflation does (generally 3-4% a year) – devalues the dollar.

America has stood strong for the last 234 years because we never deviated from the founding principles our forefathers set forth when they established this great nation from a tyrant and king in England that told the people what they could own , how much they could own of it and when they could have what was rightfully theirs !
Remember ? …I do not and will not succumb to this arrogant , Muslim loving , Israel hating individual that this country in one of it’s poorest hours in its history bite the forbidden apple much like Eve consumed in The Garden of Eden in the bible !
I will do everything legally in my power to help remove this socialist from our government on election day and hope that you will also do your part in removing him from office too , …as I’m not ready to give up the country I love to someone who hates it as badly as he does !!!

    • Texan living overseas (until Texas secedes)

They should be tried and executed for counterfeiting. That is the punishment in the time of our founders for printing fake money and the Fed is a private banking cartel in violation of the constitution’s requirement that ONLY silver or gold be used as legal tender.

The irony here is, if only the average worker knew this!! They only get a 2 or 3% raise every year if they are lucky, so that means with 2-3% inflation their salary would NEVER grow.

But the truth is REAL INFLATION is at 9%. Go to to find the REAL measure of inflation using the govt’s OLD ways of measuring it. They changed their methods to make it seem lower than it is!

Today’s inflation measurement basically just uses consumer goods like technology which have a NATURAL deflation because of technological efficiency lowering the cost to make them, but they DON’T count food/energy and the things needed to live which naturally go up in price when they print money!

It’s time to end the Fed and most federal agencies. This should be in the hands of the state or local governments as it was before the “New Deal” screwed it up. Shut it all down and you could cut taxes be over 50%.

At the rate the fed is printing money within the next four years if the Great Black Father in Washington is reelected we won’t have to woory about the value of the dollar it will be worthless!

    • JJM

      That’s no doubt.
From 2008 to today, our Monetary Base has increased from $851.4 Billion to $2647.7 Billion. That’s a 311% increase. That tells me that if and when all the new printed money hits the streets my $100 grocery bill will cost me #311. I don’t think my income is very likely to triple as quickly. Of course Bernanke says that if the new money becomes a problem they will merely recall it, if you can remotely believe that BS. The greatest hidden tax bill has already been sprung, high inflation due to excessive fiat money printing, and nobody can escape this tax bill.

    • MontanaMEL

      YOU GOT IT RIGHT…exactly!

It has already happened to us…think back, what did a NEW CAR cost in 1964?..Try $3,200, and that would do the 1/4 mile in about 11.51 seconds!…and, it wasn’t a Hemi!
What did a NEW CAR cost in 1985? Try about $15,000 or so…and, it did the 1/4 mile in about 15.11 seconds… What does a new car cost today?? Say $35,000 and it’s best in the 1/4 mile is about 14.22 seconds! Figure that one out…seems technology has cost us a “10 times” factor in the cost and slowed us down by about 20% while our GAS BILL is now more of our earned income as a percentage then it was back in 1964…

EVERYONE..READ: The Creature from Jekyll Island…get your eyes opened…Vote often, vote loudly…vote from your roof tops!

and that $35,000 car is built overseas for about $7,000…did one ever suspect that those US auto manufacturers would pass on the reduce cost-to-build savings to the US taxpayers that helped fund the ‘woe-is-me’ bail-out request some months ago? not likely. but the car maker resurgence posturing at the major city car shows this year has been sure entertaining…& sickening all at the same time.

Most people away from Wash. DC think our leaders love our country and our constitutuion and are patriots. The truth is they don’t. Most of them think the rest of us are stupid. this is a fantasy the fed is try to spread in the year 2000 gold was $340. per oz now its what $1,500 an oz that, 12 years and these clowns are trying to say the dollar will be worth 33% less in 20 years it wont even make good toilet paper in 20 years. buy gold and silver let the fed stick their worthless paper up their royal arses

  • Larry E

The Federal Reserve needs to be gone through with a fine tooth comb, anything and anyone who’s not up to snuff investigated, and all who are liable tried and sent off to the slammer. Then and only then it needs to be disbanded, no golden parachutes for any of them either. Fiat currency isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on, and the Fed isn’t worth that.

    • ekim

I am wondering if you know who the FED is !

    • RULKEN

The “FED”, is a privately owned bank that hold all the federal reserved gold for the USA.

    • JJM

I recently saw that the Dollar has lost 98% of its buying power in the past 100 yrears. When an ounce of Gold was worth $50 it therefore would now be worth 50 x 50 = $2500, which closely matches the Monetary Base vs Gold Price chart (past 10 years) I saw today which would indicate Gold should be $2300. 2008 average Gold price $871.96 x 311% = $2712.
And who wants to bet how much Gold is left in Ft Knox???

    • Sam

My friend, you have no earthly idea what you are talking about. Gold at Fort Knox? Not enough to write home about. Besides, we don’t back our currency with anything other than the full faith and trust of the government. You have watched too many James Bond movies

Everyone should read the book “The Creature from Jekyll Island” to get a true understanding of how corrupt and self-serving the large banks and banking families in this country are and the warnings from history of having a Central Bank (Fed. Reserve) and leaving the gold standard. We are destined to repeat history because we do not learn from it- sad!

  • Sam

Devaluation of their curreency is what all socialist governments do when they have buried themselves in withering, unpayable debt. It was never a question of would the U.S. devalue the dollar, it is only a question of when. After Obama is reelected, the slide into second rate nation status will increase and end in the total destruction of our government, just as he promised in 2008.

  • James

The ONLY way to stop the destruction of our economy is to shut down the Feds entirely. Ron Paul (and his son) is the ONLY one with backbone enough to do it. There is one problem looming in the background: The Feds are controlled by the most powerful criminal group in the history of planet earth, and they are NOT going to turn loose of their power without a life and death fight. Therefore, as with all cartels they will assasinate anyone who becomes a real threat… These are the facts of life. Pray for Ron Paul as he becomes viable in the eyes of more people, his life is in increasing danger from the men who control the Feds.

One of these days they are going to add the straw that breaks the camel’s back. If the next election doesn’t turn out favorably for the continued existence of the great experiment of freedom and justice for all, it could turn into a very noisy place.

  • James

The Feds are a totally illegal organization of the worst kind, and their primary goal is to destroy America as it has been so they can have a one world government which they control. They ONLY way to save the American economy is to eliminate the Feds entirely. Ron Paul (and son) is the ONLY man we have in D.C. who has the ability and backbone to do it. One major problem: as with all cartels, they are NOT going to turn loose of their power and will assasinate anyone who is a serious threat. Therefore, keep Ron Paul in prayer for his safety in his campaign.

news flash , now your gonna think I am crazy, but the truth is obommer, bernanke and china are behind the scenes in cahoots in the dollar devaluation. RON PAUL 2012

Gold @ $ 5,700 per oz. would get us back to
    1913……………so multiply by 1.333 to
    get us to 2032 ?

    $ 7,578 would be a Disaster.

  • BillF

Consider what this would do to the price of gas. I am sure the Dollar would cease to be the standard for the purchase of oil or trade items. The United States would be comsidefred a third world country. It is time to Nationalize the Fed. We must remember the Fed is not part of the American Government. More Socialist plans to destroy the United States! Wake up people. Obama and soros have to go or it is the end of the United States!

We need some different people running this country. Someone with some common sense and not looking to just getting reelected. Focus on the right things with a proper prospective. A real simple solution! Joseph Ray Connor Retired Army officer

    Year= 12/2008 one ounce of Gold= $640.00
    Year= Feb/2012 ” ” ” ” =$1,730.00
    1.730 divided 640 = 270 % devaluation….

That’s what the dollar was devalued since we have the government of “CHANGE”. Imagine what the dollar will be worth with 4 more years of CHANGE. I know the say: “Nothing,” NIENTE, NADA …..

WE need people that has common sense to run this country, not just looking to get reelected. Joseph Ray Connor Retired Army Officer.

  • Charles Hanna

The price of gold continues to be the best gauge of the value of the dollar. As Chito points out, our dollar has devalued 270% just since Obama has been in office; however, Bush and three of the Republican candidates were proponents of the bailouts as was Obama.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who even discusses the real problem … and he offers a solution. EVERYBODY else is just more of the same.

    • Willy Stubblefield

Let the boys with the big money & the flack make all their noise … THEN let Ron Paul win the next election via “write-in” vote.

  • Ruth

Shows the outrageous stupidity of those that sit where they do in WA!….folks it is way past time to DO something about the destruction of America and get with it and fight back!!!….They will not stop the assault on freedom and us, if we sit back and do nothing!!!!!!!! Get Obama out and get a patriot in that has the right outlook and reasosn for what he does and Romney if not the one who does…Newt can stop Obama but I want Santorum to win…jsut not sure he has the fire to take back what we have lost and stomp the corruption in the ground!

This is nonsense their plan to devalue the dollar 33%. With all the money they have printed it will devalue much more than 33%. Maybe that’s their plan but it may be more like 90 percent. Everyone knows inflation is coming and soon. Who ever the next president is will have all the obama screw ups to contend with. There are some really hard times ahead at best. At worst we will no longer be a Constitutional Republic but a fascist totalitarian dictatorship, which we were promised by obama with his fundamental transformation declaration.

The biggest question however, have we learned anything by installing this imbecile into the highest office of the land? Or will we repeat our mistake? When Ronald Reagan was elected over Jimmy Carter I was very proud of my country because Carter was taking us in the wrong direction and the people awakened and booted him out. But these are different times. Carter was just inapt, obama is not inapt he is destroying this country purposely. That is his goal! We can only work as hard as we can to remove him by electing someone else. Who, remains to be seen. But if we wish to continue living in the greatest country ever to have existed in the world obama must go. Besides four more years may very well be too late!

All the liberal progressives are crying about the banks and corporations hoarding trillions of dollars. However, as soon as they stop hoarding the money and start spending it inflation will begin. Perhaps at an unstoppable rate. It may take as many as eight years to begin but it is coming and soon. We are already three years into the eight and they (the Fed) are still making the same mistakes. The Weimar republic started their spiral out of control in the early twenties and it took nearly ten years for them to self-destruct, but they did. We have learned nothing from their experience. Wise men learn from the mistakes of others, because we cannot live long enough to make them all ourselves.

I’m not one who usually dwells on events which have not happened yet, but……

It is now Friday 2/10/2012 at 11:32:52 AM
Event: Time left until Comrade ØZebra is sacked………
    Scheduled For 1/20/2013 05:00 PM
    11 months 10 days 5 hours 27 minutes 8 seconds or
    49 weekends or
    345 days or
8,285 hours (5,523 waking hours) or
    497,127 minutes or
    29,827,627 seconds

    Are you counting?
    I surely am!

Regardless who the Republican candidate is, restoring the U.S. economy to the status of a “free” economy will require significant policy changes to reduce the size of government, overhaul the tax system, and transform costly entitlement programs while maintaining our military superiority. By boosting growth in the private sector, such freedom-enhancing policies are the best hope for bringing down high unemployment rates and reducing public debt to manageable levels.

In any case, the first step in the COUNTDOWN to recovery is to get to the polls in November and VOTE the communists, Comrade ØZebra and his entire cadre of “Fellow Travelers”, out of office.

  • .50BMG

If people quit repeating that RP can’t get elected and vote for him instead, he WILL get elected. Everyone keeps saying that he will splinter the vote, which may be true, but if ANY of the other candidates win, we are just as screwed as we are now, so we might as well vote for the champion of the Constitution. Otherwise it’s bummer or bummer lite, and we will end up a completely socialist nation anyway.
There probably won’t be an election anyhow, because all that has to be done is to cut off entitlements, and wallah! (or is it “allah”) -instant riots. Anyone want to be me on that one?

    • .50BMG

      Sorry, I meant “bet me”.

    • bob

Not sure we’ll get to vote this year.
Look at whats lingering on the horizon.
      Unrest in Egypt.
Syria on the verge of collapse.
Greek economy going down the tubes.
      and finally but not least
Iran and Israel at each others throats.
If the latter breaks out Iran vows to strike the USA also.
O Bummer will declare Marshal Law, and all elections canceled.
      Thus a dictatorship progresses.

    • ConstitutionalConservative

As a pragmatist, I believe in hoping for the best, preparing for the worst and always expect a miracle. Let’s register those 50 million voting age Americans and motivate those 36 million registered voters who didn’t vote in the 2008 election. Worst case condition is that our POTUS will find an excuse to declare martial law before November 6, 2012!

  • bob

George Soroes and the builderburg grp.
Turn the USA into a third would gov and implement a One World Gov.
    Rich and Poor, no middleclass.
    Wake up people!

  • Curtis

you all should know that this is an anti Ron Paul, pro establishment, media bought site!

  • Irosin

I wonder why my comment I made earlier on this topic vanished? It was about George Soros.

  • Irosin

We CAN NOT forget who helped put Obama in power and supports him.
I think if we want to have any chance in restoring this once great country and have a great leader; we must look beyond just Obama to what is behind all the chaos, corruption and media bias. That would be people like George Soros and the many others that hide in the shadows, who pull the strings and throw billions of dollars to those who are in the eye of the public to keep their agenda on track.

Mohammed Ali as a boxer use to say, “kill the head and the body will die”. Same thing in this case. Stop the money trail with Soros, and we will have a fair fight.

Soros has collapsed 5 other countries currency and has stated in no direct way that he would like that to happen to the U.S. dollar.

Soros and the others manipulate the entire media and political system to speed up their NEW WORLD ORDER agenda. They MUST BE CRUSHED and CONTAINED if we have any chance! Once contained the puppets like Obama will fall then there must be constant monitoring of them so this can not get out of hand again. This makes complete sense!

  • McClarinJ

We cannot afford to elect someone as president who has a big blind spot to the Fed’s parasitic role in America and the world. Since 1913 when the Fed was created the dollar has lost over 97% of its 1913 value.

  • Proud Patriot

I didn’t think our dollar was worth 33 cents anymore!

  • ConstitutionalConservative

This is precisely the reason we need to vote out the remainder of all progressive politicians by replacing them with Constitutional Conservatives in order to shrink the size of this federal government. that only infringes on American rights and freedoms. Let’s back freshman politicians who will get us out from under the influence of the Federal Reserve Bank on November 6, 2012!

  • ConstitutionalConservative

It just makes sense to do something to try to stop this madness. None of us can expect to get out of this life alive. Look on the bright side: Celebrate the 4th of July with patriotic pride, not tears. American exceptionalism and free-will dwelled on this earth for 232 years!
