Obama Sharpens Rhetoric on Iran

President Barack Obama sharpened his statements about the U.S.’s willingness to use military action against Iran, previewing the message he will deliver to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington on Monday amid rising tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program.

“As president of the United States, I don’t bluff,” Mr. Obama said this week in an interview with The Atlantic magazine.

Mr. Obama has been under pressure from Israeli officials to clarify and sharpen his stance about using force to keep Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The White House is looking to use Mr. Obama’s speech Sunday at the annual conference of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC and a subsequent White House meeting with Mr. Netanyahu to respond to that pressure.
