Popular Detroit rocker Ted Nugent endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for president Friday, via his Twitter account.
“After a long heart & soul conversation with MittRomney today I concluded this goodman will properly represent we the people & I endorsed him,” tweeted Mr. Nugent Friday.
Mr. Nugent, also known as the Motor City madman, is well known for his conservative political views. He is a member of the National Rifle Association, and a noted gun enthusiast.
Mr. Romney and his campaign team have not commented on the endorsement from Mr. Nugent. The latest endorsement listed on his presidential campaign website is from Tennessee congressman Scott DesJarlais.
Mr. Romney’s son Tagg Romney offered praise for the endorsement from Mr. Nugent via his Twitter account.
“Ted Nugent endorsed my Dad today. Ted Nugent? How cool is that?! He joins Kid Rock as great Detroit musicians on team Mitt!” tweeted Mr. Romney’s son.
