President Obama called on Congress Saturday to drop worries about the coming election and work together to create jobs now.
Reprising an argument he has made many times before, Obama accused Republicans of blocking his jobs initiatives for political reasons — to “wait for reinforcements” in the next Congress that convenes in January.
“I think that’s wrong,” Obama said in his weekly address. “This isn’t about who wins or loses in Washington. This is about your jobs, your paychecks, your children’s future. There’s no excuse for Congress to stand by and do nothing while so many families are struggling. None.”
