Well, President Obama — or an aide — tweeted out a musical response to Mitt Romney’s birth certificate joke.
The tweet from Obama’s Twitter account linked to a video of Bruce Springsteen singing — naturally — “Born in the U.S.A.”
It’s not the first time that tune has appeared in a presidential campaign; Ronald Reagan used it in 1984.
All of which is kind of odd because it’s an anti-war song in which the lyrics refer to a brother who died in Vietnam.
The tweet probably did not come from Obama himself, because it didn’t contain the tell-tale “bo” signature; it was probably an aide.
