Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney marked the first Saturday of college football season with a jab at President Obama’s economic record, telling voters it was time for America “to get a new coach”.
“One of the promises [Obama] made was he was going to create more jobs, and today, 23 million people are out of work or stopped looking for work or underemployed,” Romney said Saturday at a campaign stop in Cincinnati.
“Let me tell you, if you have a coach that’s 0-23 million, you say it’s time to get a new coach. It’s time for America to see a winning season again and we’re going to bring it to them,” he continued, citing the 23 million Romney says are unemployed or have stopped looking for work.
