Marine’s Scathing Letter to U.S. Senator over Proposed Ban on Assault Weapons Goes Viral

Friday, January 4, 2013

A letter written by a Marine veteran blasting a proposed ban on assault weapons has gone viral online.

Cpl. Joshua Boston wrote the letter to U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California, who proposed the ban.

‘I am a Marine Corps veteran of eight years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one,’ he writes in the letter. ‘I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.’

In the letter, he tells Feinstein, ‘You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain.’

‘I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public,’ he writes, adding, ‘We, the people, deserve better than you.’
