Sandra Fluke, President Obama’s Democratic National Convention spokeswoman for Obamacare-supplied birth control, has joined with Planned Parenthood to urge Americans to speak out in support of no co-pay birth control.
In an email to supporters, Fluke, who in February 2012 was blocked from testifying before Congress and later hit by Rush Limbaugh on his radio show, wrote: “I’m proud to stand with Planned Parenthood and President Obama as we work to expand access to affordable birth control. And I’m proud to stand with millions of women and men — including you — who are fighting for women’s health every single day.”
Planned Parenthood said that there are 48 days left to comment on the plan to have the Affordable Care Act offer a no-copay birth control benefit. In her email, Fluke called the benefit “essential health care.”
