Christie, Palin, Ryan: the New Candidates?

Three new candidates are slowly circling above the GOP presidential race. Will they land or fly on by? New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan are in various stages of contemplating possible candidacies.

Let’s start with Palin. A good Iowa source tells me that she is preparing a massive event in his state on Sept. 3rd, very possibly to announce her presidential candidacy. It would be a huge mistake, but it would help the Republicans defeat President Obama!

It would be a mistake because she’d get slaughtered. Michele Bachmann — more credentialed, accomplished, and informed — has breathed all the oxygen Palin would need for her candidacy. Before she could compete in the primaries, Palin would need to defeat Bachmann in the “woman’s primary.” But the Congresswoman is vastly better equipped to discuss budget, deficit, foreign affairs and virtually any other issue. She has stirred the same kind of enthusiasm as the former Alaska governor, but with much more substance behind it. If Palin ran, it would end up trivializing her and showing feet of clay.

But, it wouldn’t be bad for the party. Sarah Palin is the same kind of lightening rod in the Republican Party that Hillary Clinton is in the Democratic. (Doesn’t that reflect the sexism of our politics?) If Palin entered the race, the entire political establishment would descend on her in a chorus of criticism and undeserved mockery. She would deflect attention — and therefore negative attacks — from the likely front-runners.

The entire Republican primary has been waged in the shadows of those who will not be nominees — Trump, Daniels and Huckabee. For the past three months, we have been rid of these phantoms and focused on the real candidates. Now, if Palin runs, she will be the object of media scrutiny, permitting Bachmann, Romney and Perry to advance their campaigns without negative media scrutiny and Democratic attacks.

Can Palin win the nomination? Not a chance. Not while Bachmann is viable. Can she defeat Obama? She’s probably the only Republican candidate that can’t. Even these days, Obama gets more than 50 percent of the vote in match-ups with her, more than he draws against any other candidate.

Then there’s Paul Ryan — another bad idea. If he ran and got the nomination, the Democrats would hang his proposed Medicare cuts around his neck. Again, this is one of the few events that could spell doom for Republican chances in November and re-elect Obama.

Ryan, a compelling and articulate figure — who I urged to run for president before he came up with his Medicare plan — is being pushed by many of the operatives associated with former President George W. Bush. There was never a lot of love between Gov. Bush and his then Lt. Gov. Rick Perry and now, many of the Bush people are pushing Ryan to get in as an antidote to the Texas governor. Originally, they had pinned their hopes on Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, who would have been a great candidate, but when that soured, they cast their lonely eyes to Wisconsin’s Congressman Ryan.

In any event, Paul Ryan repeatedly threw cold water on my entreaties to run for president, speaking movingly and vividly of his determination to “be there for my kids” while they are growing up. After his splendid reply to Obama’s State of the Union speech, I texted him that his eloquence would spark demands for his candidacy. “Thanks, but no thanks” was his answer.

Chris Christie, on the other hand, is the real deal. His record in New Jersey is awesome, a real testament to conservative values amid a liberal environment. His courage, clarity and wisdom are very impressive. He’d make a great candidate and a great president. We hope he runs!

But its hard to see how someone can run after saying that they are “not ready” to be president. If he had demurred using other language, he could now reverse field and run. Though if he wasn’t “ready” to be president — by his own admission — in the spring, how could he be suddenly ready by the fall?

Still, Christie could get over that hurdle citing the manifest incompetence of the current president. He should run. He probably won’t get re-elected governor of liberal New Jersey in 2013 — he’s been too faithful to his conservative agenda.

In the meantime, we have a field of very good candidates. Romney, Perry or Bachmann could all beat Obama and as noted before, don’t count out Cain, Santorum or even Newt.

Are we having fun yet?

    Palin maybe that’s it,

no way no how Christie or Ryan, maybe someday I hope but not now.

I just don’t like the ex-dem Dick Morris, he even wrote a book saying the 2008 Election would be between Condi and Hillary.

    • John

I have personally had a problem with Dick Morris always, but more espesially during the 2010 mid-term elections. I believe that he alone was largely responsible for us conservatives not getting more Republicans in the house and, for sure responsible for us not gaining a majority in the Senate. Remember, it was he who predicted over a 100 Republican gain in the House and 13 to 14 Republican gain in the Senate. Sad to say, but otherwise good people listen to that kind of crap and stay home from the polls thinking that ‘we got it made, no need for me to go and vote’. My personnal belief is that he’s a ‘closet democrat’, just trying to lull us into not participating in the process. Just my thoughts. I welcome yours. GO SARAH PALIN. You get into the race and we’ll do our damnest to get you elected.

    • dfrank

But, didn’t we do that last time, John? Obama might be an easier target this time around; but, is that enough — pin our hopes on him losing? Frankly, I don’t like the idea of just hoping the other guy will lose for me.

    • Maria

I diagree with you Dick. You have unestimated the sentiment in the Country and Sarah Palin. I guess we will have to wait and see.

    • http://www.blackindependent.wordpress.com Stephen Frazier

How did Morris’ predictions cost us Senate and House seats? I think he is off base a lot of times but his analysis is uusally pretty good but he, like most of the lamestram media and ALL of the blue haired senior citizens, he completely ignores or just is too uniformed to know that Ryan’s Medicare plan does not affect anyone under the age of FIFTY, so seniors would not be affected and neither would anybody else for at least ten years!
Is it any wonder that politiciains take s so much advanage of us? We, the people are so damned stupid that it’s really like taking candy from an imbecile (IMBECILE: A person who is only vaguely more intelligent at adulthood than at birth).
Were it not for sound bite education most of these people would have nothing in the world to say and the rest of us would have nothing to listen to.

Right-On John The Tea Party Patriots Want Anybody But Obama (ABO) And Most Americans Veterans, Seniors And Christians Love Sarah Palin, She Tells It Like It Is. And George Soros Media And Colored Folks You Had Your Chance And Buckwheat Failed Now Sit Down And Watch Someone That Knows How To Run The USA. God Bless America And The Tea Party Patriots With Postive-ly Palin.

    • Kathy M

I agree with you John, I have never been a Dick Morris fan. I do not like his demeanor and I see him as more of a put down to the conservative movement than a help. I have watched him many times on FOX News and I get to the point that I turn volumn down when he is talking. Too many times ‘really good’ candidates get smashed by him and I wonder to my self at times….. Has he picked whom he wants or is being paid to promote someone that ‘The Party’ wants to win and therefore he is there to tear down the best that are going against ‘The Party’ choice? Just who is the head of ‘The Republican Party’ and why should it be their choice and not the choice of the people! I am a little sick of this happening! We need ‘change’ in the Party BIG TIME! Who the Hell are they to pick the candidate! i would love to see Palin and Bachmann on the same ticket from the get go together right now for the long haul! I bet they clean the HOUSE ( ALL HOUSES) and get the country back on track!
      GO PALIN and BACHMANN!

    • JOSEPH

The lock-step goose-step emotional hatred of Governor Sarah Palin is proof positive that liberals, media, and faux-Republicans fear her intelligence and her political power.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

I gave you a thumbs up for your stance against Dick the prick Morris.

I sure wouldn’t toss Ryan out, or Sarah or Michelle. Ron Paul is still the leader of the Tea Party, bring the troops home, audit the Fed and balance the budget.

Do you have that tricky Dick? Talk about issues jerk. No one is interested in your thoughts about who you think can win. You can’t split us up or influence us. Begone Dicky dog.

    • Agent Orange

Ron Paul is NOT the leader of the Tea Party and never was — he’s nothing but a crazy, anti-American, raghead-loving lunatic! The Tea Party doesn’t have a leader — it’s a grassroots movement and doesn’t really need a leader to function!

    • Ed

My my I believe the mil.ind. neocons have given you a little too much agent orange to sniff. Dr. Ron is the undisputed expert concerning the solutions to saving this nation; The constitution, free market principles, our unalienable rights and , dare I say it, foreign policy. Ron Paul is NO DOVE as they would love to have you believe. I have no doubt that a man of his integrity would never hesitate to champion the will of the people even if he disagreed with it.

    • Ed

      Dear agent orange,
It seems that my comments are being prevented from being transmitted. My e mail is egpcj@att.net and if you’re interested in what I have to say maybe we could accomplish that in this manner.

  • http://Christie Pat Betton

Ideal ticket Christie and Rubio of Florida, two very strong men.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

I have heard only good things about Ribero, Christy put a Muslim judge where he shouldn’t be, he’s out.

    • http://www.blackindependent.wordpress.com Stephen Frazier

Under certain condition I can see a Muslim judge (even a Muslim is better than an atheist like Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsberg). I just think Christie would be the kind of person who would make such appointments just to prove he is not biased.

You know, like those millions of white people who voted for Obama to prove to themselves they are not racist?

    • Agent Orange

A muslim judge better than an atheist?! What the hell are you talking about?! Muslim judges will use their position to replace our Constitution with islamic shariah law — gender and religious discrimination, forced marriage, legalized rape, “honor killings”, islamic indoctrination in public schools, etc., etc. ad nauseam! Remember Surah 3:85: “If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost.” Is that what we want our judges to base their rulings upon, instead of the Constitution and Bill of Rights?!

    • Ed

My my it seems to me that the military industrial neocons have given you a little too much agent orange to sniff. Dr. Ron is the undisputed expert on the issues that matter to this nation; the constitution, freedom, rights of the individual, the limited authority we should be allowing our government to have. Free market principles and, dare I say it, foreign policy. Dr. Paul is NO DOVE as they’d love to have you believe. And given his unquestionable integrity and adherence to our constitution , he would always champion the WILL of the People.

  • Patricia

Bachmann is NOT more credentialed than Palin. Bachmann also a gaffer which Palin is not. Bachmann has no executive experience and that is absolutely necessary for what the nation faces today. Bachmann repeats phrases like “tinanium spine” and “One term President” until I want to scream. She needs to remain in the House where she is a strong force but never as President. Palin has everything to get us out of this muck we’re sinking in and that’s why the Left fears her so much. Run, Sarah, Run.

    • John

You know..Palin was a governor and does have executive expertience (which Obama has neither)and sure, she’s got some baggage that the media wants to tie a tail on, BUT…and this is a big but. Where does she hauil from? ALASKA, the state that has has one of the biggest oil reserves in the world If she could override the environmental BS and harness tht energy source, it would completely eliminate our dependence on foreign oil and just think what that woukld do for our credit rating and debt recovery>>>>>>>>>>JUST THINK ABOUT IT! When push comes to shove, even the Demo’s will be looking at their purses and know they will have more money to save under this president.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

I’m for Palin but not for the oil reason. There should be other options beside petrol fuel for energy. They are there, this government just doesn’t want to look.

Drill for heat baby, not oil.

    • Agent Orange

      Can anyone say…”coal-to-liquids technology”?

    • dfrank

Alaska does have a lot of oil, John; and, we all know that every candidate in the field is going to be a drill baby drill president. Palin gives us no edge there, as the people of Alaska, to a person would probably be for it, whoever is the president.

But, those who have blocked that effort so far, have for the most part been those who hate Palin anyway. So, why would our chances of drilling not be better with someone less likely to be a target of the “get even crowd“? And, there will be such a crowd, alright, whoever wins; but, with Palin, the crowd is almost certain to be larger and more determined.

We like to talk about how much the other side dislikes her; but, is that always going to be a benefit? Clear headed thinking will indicate that just the opposite is more likely to be the case. So, what do we really want — to continue sticking our finger in people’s eye, just for the thrill of it:

Or do we want our country to prosper?

  • colorado art

Who has been more thoroughly vetted than Palin. No other candidate could stand what she has been through and still be standing. What we need is a thorough house cleaning on both sides of the aisle. Who has a better record of doing this than Palin? Her deep down passion is saving our country, not personal ego. Morris was around Clinton too long, he doesn’t understand these values.

    • dfrank

Come on Colorado, Sarah has indeed been vetted more than most; but, that “still standing” rings kind of hollow when you consider that she quit the job as chief executive of Alaska (governor). I believe the pressure got to her. And, if anybody thinks there will be less pressure if she were to become president, they’re dreaming.

I ‘m just not convinced she could handle the pressure that would surely come. I just don’t trust a quitter; and, like it or not, that is what she did in Alaska. I don’t even know if the people of Alaska would vote for her — surely not as another run as their governor. I think they would say, “Quit on me once, shame on you, quit on me twice … etc.“). I’m sorry, but, I’ve simply lost confidence in her.

Even now, she is still in hiding, assuming that she really does have an eye on a run this year. Why hasn’t she already gotten in and taken her shots like Bachmann, Romney, Paul and the others who got in right away? Looks a lot like somebody dodging the fight to me.

Now she loves the attention: And, I believe she will hold out as long as possible and try to jump on board with the most likely victor — probably Perry. She did campaign for him here in Texas in his last campaign against Kaye Bailey Hutchinson, helped him a lot, too.

  • James

EX-Dem? What are you talking about? He must be trying to get a job with CNN. Sarah has ten times the knowledge Obama has and he knows Bachmann has lost points in the last three weeks. Dick Morris sucks. Sarah WILL run.

    • Bree,

James, I agree with you and this is one time I disagree with this article. Dick Morris says it like a liberal and we don’t need such a liberal slant especially where Sarah Palin is concerned. He is not the expert here and I for one consider him way off base in all his so called analysis or liberal logic. I think he as well as the other media commentators are going to be surprised to no end when Sarah runs. This time ….undefeated! SARAH 2012

  • Richard Leggett

I think Obama fears Palin more than any other republican.Palin is the real deal, When sarah runs she will become the front runner

    • Agent Orange

      You mean, IF Sarah runs.

  • Ltjg

I really admire Palin. I hope whatever she decides, she continues applying as much pressure as she can. I also hope that my dear friends…Bree, Misty, Captain and Raymond stay on this site and not get discouraged over censureship. Hopefully everything will soon be corrected. Sincerely, Ltjg

    • Bree,

Yes Ltjg, I do too and I know Sarah will do a super job. There is no comparison to what we have now and Sarah LOVES America! God bless her so much!

    • Don Cartmill

I have read any number of post from these 5 persons ( Bree, Misty, Captain and Raymond and Ltjg,)I have never seen anything I would consider distasteful or inappropriate. I am appalled that we are getting what appears to be a biased monitoring of otherwise intelligent observations and opinions. My suggestion for the moment is that everyone reading said posts and the comments regarding the suspicions of said bias, should make a point to give each one of these a “thumbs up”. Additionally if someone can shed some light on how to approach the powers that be on the blog…Please share that info allowing us to all voice our displeasure with this biased monitoring. Vile ,nasty, profane, combative attacks are one thing…the projection of the monitoring individuals biases to establish inappropriate criteria is NOT appropriate or in the best interest of the blog and the free expression and discussion of issues.
Rather than monitoring as an oversite function ( You our monitor have imposed your own opinion and bias as the criteria of what should be allowed / censored ) Shame on you! ! !

Patriot Update suffers a problem that all websites that allow readers to comment encounter. We receive foul language as well as disgusting and inappropriate comments that would be more commonly found in a setting of an uneducated group of people. There is also the occasional violent comment that calls to kill or maim someone or a group of people. Most of our readers would agree that this type of language is morally out of bounds and does not further good discussion. It typically incites more inappropriate comments and name-calling. The topic under discussion gets lost and turns other readers off from even wanting to visit the website again. I know this because we get the complaints.
One way to counter this behavior is to moderate our comments. Patriot Update does not have a full-time staff, so we rely on an automated system to pull SPAM or foul comments for us. The system isn’t perfect but it works well enough for our purposes. There are legitimate comments that get pulled which we try to approve when we catch them. Blame the troublemakers for ruining the discussion for the rest of us.
We notice a unified theme across those who make these awful comments which is “your violating my First Amendment rights!!” Guess what. No, we are not. We are practicing our right to engage in as wholesome of a private business relationship with our readers as possible. You are guaranteed no right to say what you want, when you want it in a private setting that someone else is paying for, namely, Patriot Update.

Also, posting the same thing on the same story five times in a row does little to persuade the justness of your cause.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

I’m on your side Ltjg. I agree this moderating BS is just a bunch of crap, especially with a article writer like the dog Dick Morris.

patriotupdate is waiting for my approval on it’s next post. If the article is as bad as this one is, they are going the way of Dick Morris and won’t clutter my mailbox again.

    • Jennie Jones

You certainly have a right to your opinion, but I hope you will consider the following:

Ltjg, you are so kind…thank you. I get frustrated that my comments get moderated, whats the point like you said in just reading and never being able to post.Fortunately, Bree, and I have been able to become friends away from here..well, we email and I am so thankful for her she is Godly, and precious! Bree, if you read this don’t get the big head…lol

    • Ltjg

Thats great Misty. I wish we could all do this in a private setting. It would be nice to always be able to contact each other for no other reason than to say Hello, did you make it through the Hurricane OK? Keep in touch….OK?

    • Mistyinga.

Ltjg, thank you for your concern(hurricane), I live close to the Tn. border and was not affected in anyway by the hurricane, thank God! I am in a part of the country that doesn’t experience to much irratic weather. I hope all other east coast posters on here are ok though!

  • Ltjg

PS.If any of you do decide to leave, I hope we can find each other on another location and have a way to continue our relationship.

    • am2sweet

Am I missing something here? Why would anyone leave? It’s one place anyone conservative can say something without everyone jumping down their throat. I consider most of those on here as intellegent people that could be capable of running something in Washington much better than what we have in there now. Any like you it would be nice not to lose touch with those that we find things in common with.

    • Ltjg

Yes am2sweet, The issue you may have missed is how the group is being censured. Bree is thinking she may never return, I do not hear from Misty much any more, both the Captain and I have been experiencing trouble with our comments and Raymond seems to have information on this, but not able to tell us. We are all having trouble for some reason. I think you have too. Everyone posting is having a problem. I too do not wish to loose good people and friends. I have contacted this site regarding this.

    • am2sweet

I did have a problem a couple of times and found that if I spelled some words differently then they would clear. For a long time months ago they wouldn’t allow the word socialist. Anything I posted with that was censured. I got around that by using soci/alist. And it worked. I think their computer are set on certain things and will censure something automatically. I know that no one sits there 24/7 watching to what is being said. We all need to stay in touch with each other.

Your right Ltjg, the people here are good, the comments are good, this article was bad, the moderating is out of hand. If it doesn’t change after this thread I’m out-of-here too.

    • Ltjg

      My reply is Moderated.

    • Patti Patriot

I have had a moderated post also, have no clue why. I would like to know what the criteria are and who are the ones that are the moderators. This should be public information upfront. Can you say control?

    • Patti Patriot

being moderated again….no surprise there! And here I thought this was a place to simply express yourself!

    • R. Cook

join the club. I never use profanity and try to use intelligent arguements. Can’t see why I get moderated sometimes and not other times.

    • http://x Washington22

Sweet, I’m with you………Leave? Not necessary. We ALL get the same treatment. I think it is random BS and nothing more. Of course, we are monitored, but that’s no surprise. ALL sites do. Let’s carry on keeping in touch and figuring out what the dickens is going on with our government. We are a strong thread.

    • Bree,

Ltjg, although I know this comment of mine may not get to you, still I will stick it out to see if things improve here for another week then if not I may have to do something else but I will try to let you know that. Most of my comments are being moderated and I don’t fit the criteria for that, that I know of so hoping they get this right soon. Love you all

    • Ltjg

My Dear Bree, I am so happy to see you. Your criteria does fit and your views are extremely important. I for one (there are others) who wish to see you continue here. We all love you.

  • J.M.R.

i’m hoping for sarah to put her hat in the mix as she will have my vote

  • Carlos J. Negron

All the political sages and pundits keep throwing out names, but, no-one has yet deciphered what the winning Republican ticket will be for the 2012 election.

Based on facts, qualifications and experience all of which are to be left for the required research and understanding of same, I will give my nominating selections
Mitt Romney for PRESIDENT & Jeb Bush for VICE PRESIDENT.

    • don

Jeb bush is a rino and no better than huntsman on most conservative measuring categories. Romney is a human global warmer which takes him out of the “conservative” designation. The “Mormon” label, which is an improper nickname used by the old and new ignorant enemies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, will also be used to lay an incorrect label of “cultist” on him.

    • John

Two negatives don’ tmake one positive. I disagree. Jeb (because of Bush negaitivity – real or preceived))

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

They sure are negatives, this Carlos is in left field.

  • regina rhodes

I’m amazed at Karl Rove and Dick Morris lately for their out of touch comments. Michelle has put her foot in her mouth more times in the last few weeks than Sarah did in the last 3 years. Michelle may have east coast credentials but she does not have the charisma of Sarah. I think Michelle is not the candidate to beat Obama. I respect her and her views, but she has underwhelmed me so far every time she speaks.

  • Patti Patriot

what are the criteria for having your reply moderated?

    • Patti Patriot

Your headline says you are a “Free Press for the Conservative Revolution”.
Do you mean free as in no cost?….because free speech is not the order of the day here when your post is being moderated for some unknown reason.

    • Patti Patriot

being moderated again!!! still no surprise..

    • Jennie Jones

Why your comment may be “Awaiting Moderation”
      1. It was ALL CAPS. Having more than one or two sentences in ALL CAPS is difficult for most people to read and gives the appearance of shouting.
      2. It contained a link. Patriot Update could be held responsible for comments posted and our system flags anything with a link. As long as the link does not contain anything vulgar or a perceived threat, it will be approved.
      3. It contained vulgar language or a perceived threat.
      4. It contained what appeared to be an entire article. Patriot Update will not be held responsible for material that could be copyrighted. If you wish to post an article, please post a paragraph or two and then link to the article.

Patriot Update has only 1 person posting content, creating the daily emails and reviewing comments. A sincere effort is made to review and approve comments in a timely manner. Please be patient as changes are made to improve the process.

    • Patti Patriot

      1. my comments did not have all caps and never have…other peoples do as I have seen at times
      2. have never put a link…others have
      3. have never used profanity, vulgar language here or said anything that can be construed as a threat, but FYI… plenty of others do
      4. have never included content from another article
Jennie Jones, so these rules seem to not be for everyone and you just moderate whomever you choose. Whatever I post is my opinion and mine alone, sorry you do not agree with me…..so I really can not see just what your criteria are other than personal.
If this is in fact your job….don’t give up your day job.

    • Patti Patriot

geez…I am getting moderated once again

    • Uncle Bert

      Patti:

Perhaps a bit of understanding here: Jenny said there is only one person doing this and it could take time. I’ve been moderated too and, like you, never use caps (or at very rarely), absolutely never use profanity, etc. Give it a little time, it’ll be worth it just to clean some of the language, I’m sure.

    • Ltjg

OK Jennie, I saw this the other day. Many of us have conducted themselves honorably as Ladies and Gentlemen before and after this message. Still we have difficulty even with compliments. When will the system be fixed? Others seem to be getting by with no trouble and not following the suggestions you write. Are some of us simply singled out?

    • Uncle Bert

      Hi Jennie:

I’m assuming that this is a new policy (which I applaud as long as it does not get into censorship of valid intelligently argued positions that may not be quite aligned to the majority view of the owners). I’m assuming that this is a new policy because I note that a certain poster who seemed to have problems refraining from vulgarity and racial epithets is not in attendance. If this is the case, I applaud this change! Unfortunately with the current state of the culture, many do not understand the limits of responsibly exercised free speech.

    • Jennie Jones

Thank you! Unfortunately some people do not understand that Patriot Update suffers a problem that all websites that allow readers to comment encounter.

    • Bree,

Patti, it was just the “usual stuff” that you would expect as I was told it. Like anything with vulger speech, threatening, if you use all Caps, containing any thing with links which you have to do a certain way to go through, and just generally what you’d expect. But I don’t fit any of that and I have been moderated for several days. Also they said they have only one person doing all the comments so I know it must be a big job and I think they need more than one. Anyway, beyond that, I don’t understand it.

    • Patti Patriot

just trying to make sense out of the senseless….thanks for the moral support!

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

I think I figured out this moderation thingy, It has nothing to do with the contents of the post, it’s the quantity of posts in a row. The biggest problem for me and a good reason to leave is that the moderation notice stays for too long of a period of time, like they don’t have a monitor on hand. Couple that with the likes of tricky Dick’s articles and it’s not worth staying, except for the comments that mostly side step the article anyway. Ron Paul is still #1 and will kick the s.. out of s..head. I love Sarah too, and Ryan, and West, the rest can leave with Obama, Morris and Perry.

    • Jennie Jones

It sometimes does have to do with the quantity of posts in a row. With all due respect, no one else wants to read the same exact post more than once.

None of these three have any chance. If they were contenders, they would have entered the race by now. This is a non story. Anything the press can think of to continue to ignore Ron Paul is what this is about. He has a serious chance to win even with the lack of press coverage, but these three could not win if their lives depended on it. Palin is not that bright, Christie is New Jersey (enough said), and Ryan may be a contender in the future pretty well sums up what this article should have said.

    • colorado art

Proves the “unique character” of Ron Paul passionate suporters.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

If this bad mouthing Dick Morris would leave patriotupdate this blog might be worth reading. If he had any intention of helping the Tea Party he would mention Ron Paul, instead he is doing the same thing as the MSM and ignoring him.

I like Ron Paul because he believes in the Constitution, will audit the Fed and bring the troops home. Do you have that Dick Morris? Talk about issues Tricky Dick. Don’t try to split us up, you split, begone dog.

    • Agent Orange

Ron Paul is an America-hating, terrorist-loving fagot: just check out the video recordings of him in the debates and see for yourselves his support for Iran building nukes; for Muslim Brotherhood TERRORISTS building their brainwashing center at GROUND ZERO; for giving bin Laden (the worst SUBHUMAN MONSTER since Pol Pot) the same rights that Americans have; and last but not least, his coming out against the federal one man-one woman amendment! Not to mention that he also has the worst record of all the Republican candidates when it comes to securing the borders! Begone Ron Paul, you anti-American scumbag, we don’t want you in the White House! Go to Canada or something, and don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

  • Gene

    Dick,

I’m a long-time fan of yours and the TEA party. You have good analyses of political situations; keep up the good work. I think the best running mates would be Perry-Bachmann, Perry-Rubio, Christie-Bachmann, Christie-Rubio, or Bachmann-Rubio. Palin would make a great Secretary of the Interior.

    Erratum: [l. 1, p. 4: “…lightening…” should be “…lightning…”. Consider yourself electronically spanked.

Keep Obama away from his administration as much as possible–he’s done too much damage already. Alas….

    • Uncle Bert

Christie is the moral equivalent of Snookie in NJ politics. He simply has no chance due to his pugnacious, incendiary approach. And he is not fit to be president. I’ve got nothing against overweight people, but his illustrates that he just can’t control himself enough to keep fit for a physically taxing job like the presidency. As a private citizen, that’s an option, but as pres, no way. He also uses his power as weapon to destroy those who oppose on even tiny issues. BTW, I’m from NJ.

    • Gail H

      Uncle Bert
Just an FYI on Christie he appointed a Muslim to the State Supreme Court. Check it out.

    • Uncle Bert

Yes, Gail, I note this below in a longer note. As far as I’ve seen, to call him a RINO is a compliment, he’s really not up to even that level. Many here consider him the worst governor that we’ve ever had (which is saying something) in terms of personal integrity.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

Gene, the reason you are getting low marks is because of this, “I’m a long-time fan of yours and the TEA party.” Dick is no friend of the Tea Party as the comments reveal. He is out to hurt us, begone Dick Morris you dog.

    • Agent Orange

Bachmann-Rubio (with Sarah for SecInt and West for SecDef) would be a match made in heaven, both for the GOP and for the country as a whole. Perry and Christie are terrorist-coddling rhinos only marginally better than Obummer — God forbid that either of them ever sets foot into the White House!

  • Bree,

I Love Sarah Palin and this article does not do her justice so it will not deter any hope that America has a Champion in Sarah Palin and she is what America is all about. Let’s go Sarah! America needs you more than ever! SARAH 2012

    • Ltjg

Dear….Please do not give up hope. Yes we do need Sarah…We also need You!!! Stay with us please.

    • Teriqua Jones

I think Palin is a bad choice. It’s clear she has etched an image into many women’s hearts. She created this image as an “Average American Mom who is God-fearing”. I don’t buy it. I think she’s a retired beauty queen who wanted to get back in the limelight. So, go copy her look, buy her book, and watch her reality show. But please don’t support her as a candidate in 2012.
Remember, she will have to debate against Obama. We need a candidate that can keep us with that smooth-talking con-man. He will shred Sara Palin.

    • healthnut

Teriqua… Now that we all know the Scam in our White House, I believe strongly that Sarah Palin has a great chance in sending this Pretender-In-Chief back to Chicago. Someone has to teach him a lesson and to stop trying to make himself like a dictator and to destroy our country…AND Sarah Palin is the only one who is not afraid to say and do whatever irks him. Whatever…I think that it would be a roller coaster ride for Obama…I can’t wait to see MSNBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, squirm….Obama is NOT good for our country…he is quite destructive of our values and resources, and he should go. I pray every day for GOD to hear us and stay hopeful…

  • Dodi

I hope that the day will come when we will see all of them in the top spot. This time around I don’t know but in top cabinet spots I think if we can get rid of the muslim ass.

  • exclntman

Sarah Palin does not beleive in murdering the most precius gift God gives secondary to eternal salvation. What is more valuable in life if it is not the soul. Sarah is a patriot, and christian. Only Gods laws and rules work, and she respect that and so do I. She has my vote.

  • http://WRJohnson555@yahoo.com BigJohn555

There are great differences for the similar treatments of Hillary Clinton & Sarah Palin. Hillary Clinton rode to fame and fortune on her husband’s coattails, while being put forth as the Women’s Lib candidate and the World’s Smartest Woman.
Sarah Palin gained fame and fortune for her own actions, while being a Conservative woman, wife, and Mother. She has been vilified by the press because they fear her for her leadership abilities and populace appeal.
Hillary could never stand the background check, scrutiny, and media attacks that Gov. Palin has had to under.go

    • Teriqua Jones

“Women’s Lib”?? I haven’t heard that phrase since I was a young girl and unemployed men used it as they condemned women with jobs.
I guess a guy who would use that term would like Sara Palin.
She’s pretty, kinda dumb and is not threatening to anyone.

    • healthnut

Sarah Palin has earned the right to run for the Presidency…Look at what she has accomplished in the 2010 election. NO other…not Romney…not Bachman…not D. Morris, not Christie…not Ryan…helped new congressional seats than at any other time…So, if Sarah wants to run, it is up to her…AND may the best woman/man wins…Sarah Palin 2012

    • healthnut

      helped win…

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

Teriqua, I’ll bet your ugly, I know your real dumb and threatening only to your own safety.
Get out of politics girl, you don’t belong here.

    • Teriqua Jones

Your comment prompted me to do some brief research on Hillary. She actually has a solid record of education, experience and public service. Here is the link, nothing about Bill’s coat tails?
      http://www.firstladies.org/biographies/firstladies.aspx?biography=43

  • http://WRJohnson555@yahoo.com BigJohn555

Remember that “ABO” means Anybody But Obama. It does not necessarily mean a liberal Republican. In the face of a liberal Republican, I, and many that I know, would vote for a 3rd Party candidate or write-in a Conservative candidate. This may cause B H O to win, but his win would probably bring about the actions needed to win our country back, at least for the next couple generations. A liberal Republican would take us to the same place as B H O, but at a slower pace that’s not a “win” in my view.

    • colorado art

The result of your solution is faulty. We MUST have a conservative nomine, NO compromise. That’s what Sara is all about, no questions about conservatism.

    • dfrank

Then brace yourself for four more years of Obama, colorado. Even God allows for something less than perfection: Are you going to be more demanding? We need someone who can win and someone who can deal with the nation’s problems without a perpetual fight with everyone who disagrees with every thing he says or does.

    • Agent Orange

What makes you think a Palin nomination will inevitably bring an Obummer victory, dfrank? Cuz some stupid journalist told you so?

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

dfrank, your missing the boat. Anybody we put in will win, and we are not going to be lead by someone telling us who can win because they are electable. I like Ron Paul and Sarah. And I’m not listening to the likes of you who sounds like dog Dick Morris. Begone, the both of you.

  • Ada

    Palin and West for 2012

    • dfrank

I like Col. West too, Ada; but, Obama has shown us that we need someone with executive experience. West’s military experience might be massaged in a way to satisfy Republicans or Conservatives; but, not many others are going to be willing to take another chance on a president without executive experience — at least for a while.

Sarah does have some experience in that department; but, her resignation, walking out on the people of Alaska who elected her, looks worse than no experience at all — something she will have to run away from rather than campaign on.

Think on these things: What we’re facing is just too important to indulge our fancies of seeing our idols enthroned. It’s serious stuff.

    • Agent Orange

How about Bachmann/Palin and appoint West for SecDef?

  • mitchell

Lets get real for a min.To many more are jumping the race for Pres. You have to go with flow, and the flow is following Perry. But if they have money to burn,be my guest.

Perry is an open-borders, terrorist-coddling rhino — we don’t need him in the White House!

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

Do you see the way Perry is trying-lying to be TEA Party? I got your One World Order Perry.

  • R. Cook

I am beginning to think Morris is a shill for the Republican old guard elite. In the end he is going to be pushing Romney who is just a socialist RINO.

    • Agent Orange

He is, and has been for quite a while.

  • Janice Fortin

PAUL RYAN MIGHT MAKE A GREAT U.S.PRESIDENT.

ALLEN WEST COULD BE HIS VICE PRESIDENT.

    WHAT DO YOU THINK AMERICA?
    WE NEED TEN STOUT HEARTED.
AMERICA WILL FOLLOW A GREAT LEADER IF SHE SEES IT. GOD BLESS.

    • Agent Orange

Too bad that neither of them wants to run.

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

Agent Orange, what a handle, what ever, you talk good. “Too bad that neither of them wants to run.” That’s an over-statement IMO.

  • Uncle Bert

I’m not sure why anyone mentions Christie anymore. I live in NJ and if the election were held in NJ (alone) tomorrow, best guesses are that he would lose here by about 36% to Obama’s 54% last time I checked (about a month ago). His popularity is falling fast here as people realize that he didn’t reduce taxes, he shuffled them (off-loading services to the local governments). His reduction of services has caused cities like Newark to lay-off police, causing the murder rate in the cities to sky-rocket. It is an inside joke that the reason he’s “worked” with Dems here is because he’s got dossiers on most of them (and GOP as well) detailing their slimy deals, collected when he was state prosecutor and is now basically using them to blackmail them into cooperating. There’s the little problem of his nominating a Muslim lawyer who defended terrorists to a state bench and calling those who doubted the wisdom of doing this “idiots”. He was taking a state police chopper to his son’s high school baseball games and wasn’t sure whether he was going to reimburse the state for it (BTW, the choppers are used to patrol the coast for terrorists and drug runners, so he was hampering national security at the same time). He and the Lt. Governor both conveniently left the state during a huge blizzard this past winter, leaving no one officially in charge. This was particularly ripe as we never had a Lt. Gov before this past election and she’s already proven that she’s derelict and Christie’s neglectful in implementation of this post. And were going to have to see how his attack on public workers pensions plays out legally. He’s increased their contribution, but hasn’t yet put a dime into the pension. While some may think this is just fine, nothing’s gone into the teacher’s pension (for example) for 15 years and, get this: it’s contracted. If you or I don’t pay for our car, it gets repossessed. If we don’t make our mortgage, the bank takes it. But Christie (like a number of other govs before him, both Dems and GOP) has the gall to refuse to pay the state’s obligation. Unlike the other govs, however, he expects the middle class public workers to fix the problem the government caused themselves while continuing the same lame and illegal behavior. One can only speculate what the implications will be for similar private sector pension theft. More than that, he has said that he isn’t interested in running. If you want more, go to The Star-Ledger’s website and find the article in last Sunday’s paper by Keith Manahan, entitled, “10 Reasons Why Christie Won’t Run for President”, which should be entitled. “10 Reasons Why Christie Can’t Win”. Manahan is a Republican.

    • colorado art

Proves my point again. The liberal press screened the vetting process for BO and look what we ended up with. Do you think they will do the same for any Republican candidate ? It will be just the opposite. We the voters must vet every candidate-pre selection to make sure they can survive the process. YOU must do this process before making any final decision for the best candidate. Reagan remined steadfast with his values as a candidate after he became preisdent. When is the last time that happened ?

    • Agent Orange

Don’t forget about the Ground Zero mosque, Uncle Bert…

  • VTX1300

Im so sick and tired of you idiot journalists that think you know everything saying that Sarah Palin cant win. She can and she will win if she runs. why the hell do you think everyone is afraid and so fixated on her, because she is so anti politically correct. She goes straight for the jugular of all the liberal excriment that is out there. She says it like it is and doesnt apologise for it. You limp wristed journalists that that PC your way around everything and keep thinking and saying that she is unelectable. Your no better than the liberals themselves that spread the lies about her, or are you actualy one of them????

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

Dog Dick Morris is one of them all right. If he posts another article here it will be enough of a reason to black-ball patriotupdate.

Yea Ron Paul, and Sarah and West and Ryan. Support the Constitution and screw tricky Dick.

  • frank907

I don’t believe this article at all. All these taking heads should button their lip and allow the American people choose their candidate. Palin does not have “baggage” other than that which was fabicated by the liberal media. She scares them to death which, to me, is a good thing. I evaluate the same way I do the European perspective. If the French hate it, it must be good for Americans. I think Sarah would bring the jobs back from Bangladesh and put America and Americans first. At this time in our history that is exactly what we need. I believe that she would move toward all the things the TEA Party supports, which is also a good thing. Give her the Oval Office as a bully pulpit and she would be very hard to stop. She is all the things that liberals hate and fear. That is the best reason in the world to support her. Reagon admonished that thou shall speak no evil against your own party. Any who break that commandment break the faith and are not to be trusted.

  • Voice

Sarah frightens the liars and cheats, she will shine the light on them and let them try to lie their way out. She says what she means, and means what she says. She will go straight at obumble and call him on always using a teleprompter, without it obumble is not all that smart, his writers are. Sarah believes in God, and I believe in Sarah.

  • John D Hardman

The fraudulent Barry Soetoro (aka Obama)has established a prescedent that could be the biggest mistake (out of his many)that could be used to very great advantage by the 15 or 20 republican candidates; the Republican Party and our foundering Constitution.

Those 20 or so candidates represent a Brain Trust that could be a Godsend in these troubled times. Here is the essence of a huge step forward for Country and Republican Party…Choose the very best of the litter for Prez and Vice Prez…make all the rest czars (just like obama did). This would give us the keenest minds for Economy reform.. abolishing the Federal Reserve..getting rid of all ineffective or wasteful Federal Departments..shutting down the money pipeline of foreign aid to Nations that hate us..re-structure our 70 year old failed Welfare System and unending so called entitlements.. and on and on. We have a chance to restructure the Republican Party by voting the nucleus of Good ol’ Boys that have become deadwood or downright destructive elements within the Party.
Think about what can be done if we just do it.
    Jon Dee

    • http://www.realcolorwheel.com/ Don Jusko

Yes yes YES. John D Hardman has put it in “so many words”.

Note: Social Security does not need restructuring Jon, as it’s already structured correctly. President Johnson moved it from it’s privet trust fund into a general fund and started stealing the money for his other projects.

Return S.S. to it’s original form of taking a small percentage of earnings, having voluntary enrollment and contained in it’s own untouchable trust fund.

S.S. was designed to always make money and “we the people” own it.
They, the government, took it and we want it back in it’s own trust fund. Someday, I still expect our government to pay off the IOU Johnson gave me and put in his now famous Lock Box. That’s the legacy I want to give to our children.

To make this make sense I had to add the word “out”.
“We have a chance to restructure the Republican Party by voting [out] the nucleus of Good ol’ Boys that have become deadwood or downright destructive elements within the Party.
Think about what can be done if we just do it.
      Jon Dee”

Great idea BUT Let’s do it in a proper manner and pass legislation to prevent some future devious SOB from using this trick again.

  • Uncle Bill

I don’t know who this Palin clique is here in this commentary ’cause I never join cliques, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. The elite establishment and the elite media and terrified of her, what you hear are screams of terror that someone outside their selecdt group dare to interfere with their onward slithering toward complete domination ofthis nation. Check the roster of the most powerful clique in America, they are both there, left and right, check it out: Crawley, Krauthammer, Cheney, Brokow, Bolton, Carter,, drier, Finestein,Gingrich,Kerry, McCain, McCrystal, Patreus, Powell, Rice, Scarburough, Soros, Tyrell, Stephenopolus and on and on. They’re all there left and fight and they all disdain Sarah Palin. Remember when Babsy Baby shrilled from Hyannisport, “Go back to Alaska!” Afraid that one of her offspring might not make it to the throne of power. I do hope Palin runs and wins. she seems to our last great hope against these thieves of liberty. The next question is, Will this be posted?

  • Uncle Bill

I’ll be darned. It was. Did I forget to mention that the most powerful organization in America has the initials CFR?

Dear Bree, I did go back to the 24th. Thank you. I was able to type the entire letter in 2 parts on the gallup topic. I hope you see it. Very interesting letter. I have been reading the same letter 100′s of times since I was a young boy.

I think Morris is wrong on this one….Palin would be an outstanding canidate, and if she became the nominee, and if she didnt, it would only be because of Perry in it….I think either one would and could be Obama….Bachmann even though she is great, she has lost appeal along the way, and not sure on her Foreign Affairs stance when it comes to Natl Security…I want someone TOUGH!

  • gary sheldon

Palin remains my fave simply because the picture painted of her is faulty to the extreme. Christie….., NEVER. When he said NEBER to coal fired electricity I said NO to him as a candidate. I am tired of most demonRATS and republicRATS. They run in the same stable (McCain/ Hussein) with little difference between them and the “stable owner(s)” win(s) regardless if a demonRAT or republicRAT gets the vote. Cain Bachmann Palin West all dwarf the Commie in Chief’s B B’s and they are beholden to America and America IS the Tea Party. They put U.S. first above any commie or socialist agenda.
Whatever happened to the mandate to show the Constitutionality of any proposed legislation ???

  • Sandy

    DM,
You are so wrong about Christie. his positions on Obamacare (he refused to join 20 other states in challenging it), his opposition to the Arizona immigration law, his position on global warming, his refusal to comment on the ground zero mosque, and his active support for Castle. He also went to the communist dinner for Mao Zedong dinner given by Obama ‘this is a great day for America’, excuse me.
