Costs of the Occupiers

occupy wall street protest

The trash generated by the “Occupy Wall Street” protests keeps piling up. So do the bills. Liberal media outlets claim the anarchic, anti-capitalist movement is more popular than the tea party. But wait until Americans across the country get a full picture of the costs of the aimless occupiers.

In New York City, government officials estimate the month-long siege of Zuccotti Park has now imposed $3.2 million in overtime police costs on the public. On Thursday, as Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office pressured left-wing activists to vacate the park for cleaning, Occupy Wall Street urged sympathizers to flood the city’s customer services lines: “Call 311 and tell Bloomberg not to evict us!”

In Philadelphia, Mayor Michael Nutter told the press that demonstrators outside city hall have incurred $164,000 in overtime public employee costs and $237,000 in regular time. “At the current rate, if Occupy Philly continues to the end of the month, the city would spend another nearly $690,000 on police overtime alone,” the local NBC affiliate reported. “Besides the extra police presence being dedicated to the Occupy Philly protests, other city departments have also incurred costs.”

In Seattle, police have so far billed $30,000 in overtime, and the parks department racked up nearly $4,000 in additional costs related to the protests there. Occupiers have blocked traffic, assaulted an officer and pitched illegal tents. Merchants in the area have been hurt as the riff-raff deter customers. One business owner in Westlake Park, where hundreds of protesters remain camped out, told Seattle TV station KIRO: “There’s definitely fewer people you can identify as people out, just walking through the area.”

Seattle’s pushover mayor, Democrat Mike McGinn, now faces even greater demands from the insatiable mob — which wants a “guaranteed parking space near City Hall Plaza that allows for around-the-clock parking,” “24-hour access to the first floor of City Hall for restroom access, and a written statement from the mayor approving the protesters’ long-term occupancy of City Hall Plaza.”

In Boston, City Council President Stephen Murphy anticipates a $2 million hit to taxpayers if the protests refuse to disband by the end of October. The local Fox affiliate notes the tab represents 8 percent of the yearly budget for police overtime. “While we’re all sympathetic with our protesters down there,” Murphy said, “Wall Street isn’t picking up the tab on this thing. It’s the Boston taxpayers.”

When fiscally conservative tea party activists held protests over the past two years, they filed for all the required permits and paid for their own power. Occupy Boston, by contrast, neither sought nor obtained any proper permits at any level, according to the Boston Globe. Instead, city and park officials have been cowed into providing them gratis electricity and camp space lest there be “conflict.”

Many of these occupiers are primarily occupied as paid rent-a-mobsters for unions, left-wing think tanks and the radical Working Families Party. While one collective hand soaks the taxpayers, the other hand is busy soliciting free stuff. Occupy Los Angeles activists took to Skype on their laptops to solicit donations of iPhones and iPads.

Occupy Wall Street members on Twitter organized an ongoing “#needsoftheoccupiers” drive for everything from batteries and tarps to “gently used” coats and sweaters, wool socks, sleeping bags and energy bars. Occupy Austin organizers publicized their wish list, including a free barbecue grill, portable toilets, extension cords, a Bobcat forestry cutter for clearing brush and network cameras for a livestream.

These are not principled advocates of fiscal responsibility. They are professional freeloaders.

Unlike tea party activists who focused like a laser beam on politicians in both parties responsible for redistributing wealth to Big Business cronies by force, the Occupy Wall Street movement is everywhere and nowhere. The entitled Kamp Alinsky Kids are poaching WiFi and trespassing on private property under the guise of “social justice” but in plain service of themselves.

Their T-shirts and speeches glorify Marxist radicals Che Guevara, Emiliano Zapata and Chairman Mao. They lionize convicted death row cop killer Troy Davis and WikiLeaks collaborator Bradley Manning. They condemn “Nazi Bankers,” Jews, Fox News, the American Legislative Exchange Council, Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker, the Koch family and the New York Police Department (“Pigs!”). They promote the illegal alien DREAM Act and 9/11 Trutherism.

They spout bumper-sticker profanities and inanities: “F**k banks.” “Unf**k the world.” “Fuuuuu*k.” “Free education.” “Smash nationalism.” “People not profits.”

They flash peace signs while celebrity supporter Roseanne Barr calls for beheading financial industry workers and fellow marchers call explicitly for “violent revolution” or for Obama to “Send SEAL Team 6″ to Wall Street.

Then they huff and puff (preferably in a creepy uniform chant they call the “human microphone”) that we just haven’t taken the time to understand what they’re all about — as they hawk $20 “Eat the Rich” polo shirts and license their protest photos to Getty Images.

Viva la revolucion! Up with people! Stop the greed! (Cha-ching. Cha-ching.)

These people are no better than the long hairs dope smking hippy’s of the 1960 if not worse and we all see where that got is, “today”, where do you think this breed of animals is going to take the nation, “totally destroyed”. It is my hopes as it was in the 60’s that the military will be employed to control the animals and what ever they have to do to dispurse the crowds is done.

    • sid

if you don’t teach, responsibility, and the value of a dollar, this is what you get!!!

    • LadyLiberty

It is very hard to teach lazy good for nothings anything; when you have a Government that continues their support and even approval of them.

These are the useful idiots that have been spoiled so much; it would take a meltdown of the govenment for them to get off their A$$es. Then they would start all over again robbing, begging and destroying our country. These are the very people that need to be reprogrammed and retrained; if they want to eat!!!

    • Patriot41

Have you noticed that one of their leaders is the same Frances Fox Pivens that led the 60′ crowd in protesting? She is the famous communist professor who along with her husband, penned the marxist outline for overthrowing the govt.

    • johnk

too bad then-president carter in 1977 pardoned all the draft dodgers….. which probably included her husband.

    • June

Too bad then-president Carter in 1977 pardoned all the draft dodgers….. And now Obummer has a chance to pardon our present day trash for votes at the tax payer’s expense. Liberal never change they just rename the game, too bad the American Tax payer is unable to learn from experience.

    • marcel Duranleau

    • http://- bigjohn

Ford had already pardoned the draft dodgers after he took over for Nixon-before Carter’s awful administration!

Our schools don’t teach civics. Our parents don’t teach respect or patriotism. Our colleges glorify Socialism and Communism.

Our schools don’t teach American greatness. Our parents don’t teach morals. Our colleges teach revisionist history and “blame America first”.

Our schools are too busy passing out condoms to teach students to read and to think logically. Our parents are too busy to provide their children with a solid base to carry them through life. Our colleges are too busy indoctrinating students with left wing idiology to teach them something useful that might actually get them a job!

The result….. O W S Uneducated, out of control, anarchist children running loose in the streets.

Time to bring out the tanks. Bring out the machine guns and give these spoiled, self indulgent brats a first hand education on what REAL fascism looks like.

    • Ali

You are right on! Now we need to educate the public

    • Willowspring

They should make every last one of them stay there in the park until it is totally cleaned up and returned to its former state. That park is private property. If those miscreants are not made to clean it up, the owners of the property should sue the city of New York or the state of New York for restitution. They should NOT have to bare the cost of refurbishing. And by the way, the T.E.A. Party NEVER left any place they gathered as disgusting as these losers. OWS losers EXPECT to be cleaned up after. Doesn’t say much for their parents does it?

    • June

Or the mayor of New York can hold a Tea Party and get the trash cleaned up for free.

    • BJacobs

Actually, since SEIU is helping to sponsor this BS, they can clean it up. After all, they are a “SERVICE” union!!!

    • http://windowslive mary m

instead of charging all the tax payers they should get names and addresses of every person in that park andbill them personally.they are the ones causing all the cost.not us normal people.!!!

    • marcel Duranleau

Send the bills to those loonies parents.

    • Bucky

Send the clean up bills to these loonies parents…? Great idea! However, I don’t think most of the “protesters” even know who their parents are much less know where they live. (Unless they get a “handout check” from mommie or daddy.)

    • patriciatyson

Willowspring, I think a better solution would be to: take their phones, ipod, computers, designer clothing and etc, load them onto planes and drop them into a third world country with no water or food. Their stay would have to be at least two years. They might have a different view about life and living in the US then.

    • paul

I agree. Wonder if it could be “arraigned” quietly? I bet lots of people would chip in on the cost one way.

    • http://NA SPARKY SAYS

No the owner should not sue the city.He should sue every union in the city of New York
they are all involved in the corrupt actions of the low life worthless brats brought in to this world .they are the scum of the earth.

    • Guest

Bloomberg is as bad as Obama as in his TV appearances he sounds like he backs the Marxist hippy leftovers and children of some of the 60’s bunch of idiots, They are nothing new as they think they are, The average American sees them as mindless and wrong_way neo-Nazis. Their timie is waning and when they apply for a job I hope they never will be considered, Who will hire them ?? And the unions are 1/2 to blame for supporting them and the other 1/2??? Obama most likely

    • Jeff

Bloomberg, the gay mayor of NY blew his chance at getting rid of these markist pigs. on day 1 or 2, he should have took the NYPD and threw them all out! Now it’s too late, & their all over the world like annoying flys. he would have gotten some bad press but 3 days later, everyone would have forgotten it all. Now it’s the IN-Thing to do, the cool thing, but wait until they burn that 1st car!

    • Martha Benton

Don’t you realize this is what Obama is hoping for? He is just waiting for the first act of violence (and it is bound to happen) and he will declare martial law. Then he will not be voted out in 2012 because there will be no elections. That is why he is promoting this sh$$ these idiots are pulling.

    • Gary Emch

I hope the military is sent in and shoots everyone of these losers. If not the armed citizens of our country will do it. I’m ready and waiting!

    • Bud

Gary, now that was a very stupid thing to say. You are going to puff up your chest and go out a kill a bunch of children. All you’ve done is give the rest of us a bad name. when they come to take our guns now that’s the time to shoot,,,,,,,,,back. So cool it Gary, go back to your little sofa and cool it.

    • Dee

The stupid mayor of NYC should have kicked them out a long time ago and made them pick up their own trash.

  • The Enemy

Yep. We, the taxpayers, get to fund the cleanup of the mess these freeloading reprobates leave behind. After TEA rallies, no cleanup is needed because we clean-up after ourselves.

    • vietnamvet

TEA Party people also know what they are demonstration for, say their piece loudly and proudly to any who will listen, then go home to their jobs and family matters.

The OWS are the product of incompetent parents and left slanted schools.
They don’t know for sure what it is they don’t like, they just know it makes them mad.

It is probably guilt caused by their own absloute worthlessness.

They intend to demonstrate ‘permanently’ because it’s more fun than the total inactivity they are accustomed to.

They may even find it thrilling to talk face-to-face with others … rather than Facebook-to-Facebook.

    • June

With the coming of winter and Global warming maybe we will get a repeat of last years 20 below temperatures. We can only pray! Sorry my error we can only hope!

  • Furious in TX

A buddy of mine had some transients camping on his rural property. Cops did nothing, but move em around in circles. One day, there were a numerous amount of tents and trash, and he had enough. If you are aware, we have a lot of feral hogs here. He snuck up to their site in the wee hrs of the morning, and spread sow urine throughout their camp. The next day, all was gone and replaced by a trampling of wild boar tracks.. Just a thought… I wonder if skunk urine would lure in skunks?? I wonder if skunk spray smells worse than ows

    • JVB

I can tell you for a fact NOTHING smells worse that OWS who haven’t bathed or changed their ratty underwear for days. NOTHING.

    • Don39

I doub that the smell of skunk scent would prevail in that mob!

  • nvrpc

CS gas at the same strenght as that used to subdo prisoner in their cells will work too. We just need an arial attack and someone with balls to give the order. M79 launches work good too.

    • Bill

aw jeez, what if you made a mistake and used nerve gas or anthrax instead.

    • patriot2

Bill,I don’t think it would be a mistake.

  • Mutantone

bill their sponsors Van Jones and Soros and the Unions

    • June

Why do you think the tax payers should foot the bill?

  • No fool

Flushing more unnecessary money down the toilet. It’s no wonder social Democraps like Obama support “Occupy Wall Street”. The goal is to spend, spend, spend to destroy the economy. Other research proved that several were Illegals, getting paid to carry signs that couldn’t even read or understand.

  • JVB

I believe the celebrities who stepped up and openly supported redistribution of wealth should have to pay for the clean up. It might be the first time in their lives they actually put their money where their big fat mouths are.

  • stephen russell

I agree with Mutantone: Bill sponsors & all allies to OWS events nationwide.
Or bill the state Dem Party office.
But refer bill to the Dems.

U made this mess, Now clean it up.

  • Raymond

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
    ● Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
    ● Why the early bird gets the worm;
    ● Life isn’t always fair;
    ● and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies
(adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion..

Common Sense lost the will to live when criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

    He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
    ● I Know My Rights
    ● I Want It Now
    ● Someone Else Is To Blame
    ● I’m A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

    • Norman A. Schlosser

Another excellent piece of literature, Raymond!!! Keep up the great work!!

I’d like to know how many of these morons are collecting a government check each month, like SS disability, food stamps adn or unemployment checks and deduct a percentage from there checks to pay for the services there causing!

    • Horse Baron

do as fl does and require a drug test before receving your check

  • Kevlar Linc

Of course the taxpayers foot the bill for cleaning up after these crybabies. In fact, it is a windfall for the municipal public employee union members who are getting overtime pay to clean up the offal that these parasites leave in their wake.

    • AppraisHer

Wow Kevlar, you finally got the purpose of the “occupation”, overwhelm the cities with needed services. This way they depleat the city coffers to pay union workers to babysit and clean up after them. I’d fence them in and let them live in their own filth, nothing in, nothing out…and while they can live without food and water, they can’t exist without electricity, so when their Iphones and computers go dead they’d head back home to mom’s basement.

  • Bill

Why? Just send the bill for clean up to the DNC and George Soros.

    • http://n/a Lula, CA

Tet those who created the mess clean up after themselves, no matter where one is or who one is: The way of Justice.

    • BobM

RIGHT TF ON!!! If you looked at the grounds after the 9-12 March on the Capital when it was all over, THE GROUNDS WERE CLEAN! Not even a scrap of paper was left on the grounds. Yet the Tea Party and 9-12 Groups are maligned by the MSM. Where’s the “maligning” of the “Flea Baggers” by the same media? These people are the REFUSE of society. As a resident of New York State I’m pi$$ed beyond belief that MY tax dollars have to clean up after these SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST/UNION THUG wastes of skin!

Please don’t forget. The TEA Pary is “We The People” No expences are paid for from American Tax payers. The wall street protest is the inrelligence of the Obama administration and his cronie far left democrats “Libtards” The damage, clean up and unemployment extended cost will cost the American Tax Payers billions of $. WE are paying for them to shit their pants, wear the same clothes week after week, have sex on the sidewalks and run around bareass. This is Obama’s kind of life not the true Americans. Do U ever see this with the T E A Party?????
If U answer yes then U are a liar as your daddy Obanger.

  • dfrank

While living in Seattle during the Viet Nam War era I heard a local news report of an interesting occurrence:

It seems there was an anti-war protest in the area of the University of Washington, both on and off campus. Streets were clogged and the usual chaos and mayhem were pretty much the rule of the day.

Some enterprising people, apparently not sympathetic to the mob’s views or perhaps incensed by the obstruction of traffic, put a few hives of bees on a pick-up truck, drove it into the melee and tumbled the hives of angry bees onto the street. It was reported that the crowd dispersed on its own — hurriedly.

I’m told that bees are among nature’s most intelligent life forms: Perhaps they could clarify the thinking of some of those picketing on Wall Street. — just a thought.

    • Bill

Poor bees. Should use something worse like wasps and hornets.

    • paul

The big problem with that is that there is a great shortage of bees these days. Wasp’s might do it though?

  • Mark

      We The People sure will!

  • shell holston

These areas they are occupying are mostly liberal areas of the country, aren’t they? It’s time to fight for a solution instead of creating mountains of garbage and sludge. This is no answer for a major problem. I do agree Wall Street has bilked the country for years and years but so has the government as well as the FED! Clearly the solution is to vote these people OUT and get rid of the UN, FED, most of Congress, all of the WH and place term limits on the Courts, coupled with, close the borders and do not allow companies to outsource by taxing them out of business if they do go offshore. We can always create more businesses to replace them and put people here to work!

    • Jeff

Agree on all counts! don’t forget to close the borders and rules to getting elected like term limits, having no ties (stock, ect.) to ANY corp. within 1 year of election for canidate, direct family & grandchildren (yes grandchildren, so a congessman or president can’t pass a bill that helps the corp his 30 or 40 year old grandson has stock in), clear, full birth, legal Birth Certificates & college papers so we can see if this canidate is flaming Commie or Muslim sypatheiser!

  • Don39

Look folks, stop quivelling about who is paying the bills for thesze Demos and future RIOTS! There is only one source of money in this country, it is the productive citizen, the exception being FUTURE productive citizens, Since we are $10.4 trillion in debt already , it is clear that our productive heirs will foot the bill, or at least that part that we slaves to big goverenment do not pay in our life time. There may be some foreign funds involved here , but chances are we will pay that to . So set back and marvel at the waste of your money! Ooh and aw at the waste and hope someone takes care of it. Do not even think about getting involved and doing something about it. Marvel at the misguided nature of these poor misguided children ( as some of you ladies above seem to think ). Wake up America, get off your duffs and prepare for the future that is now or perhaps never! The powers behinsd thesae actions ois intent on one thing, using your money to take over this nation and force you under a tyranatical socialist regime before their leader is thrown out of office and they lose the momentum! The longer we wait the messier it is going to get.

  • http://PatriotUpdate Judith Meeks/sinking widow

Most of these occupiers are little more than mindless puppets being used to forward an agenda scripted by people whose intent is to bring this Country to it’s knees. Sometime close to the election, I predict that they will become more violent and destructive.
Then BO will be able to declare Martial Law, and suspend the election. I can only pray that I’m wrong.

  • lizaz

These misguided kids are nothing more than public leeches…taught to be so by our marxist universities and products of poor parenting. Little do they care how much their party is costing the taxpayer since they don’t pay taxes. It’s too bad the officials in the affected cities aren’t willing to protect the general public by removing this plague before we really do have a health problem. They’ve had enough time to “protest” and they obviously have no solutions for their “demands”. Remove capitalism and corporations and where would they get their cell phones, ipads, computers, tents, air mattresses, blue tarps, etc. They have no answers and undoubtedly haven’t even thought about what they are doing. Enough is enough!!! Pray for a early and very cold winter or a mayor with some intestinal fortitude to set an example!!!

Just look at what you have for mayors of the liberal cities the protests are taking place and you have the answer. They are more than likely in bed with them. Why haven’t they been vacated? Let the taxpayers of the cities the protests are in foot the bills and see how long the protests go on.

  • Ken Broadwater

Those freeloaders should not be allowed to pitch tents or lay around on the ground. As soon as they started setting up their tent I would put the handcuffs on them. And as for being like the Tea Party, not even close, but they do act like their liberal bone heads in Washington. Maybe they should send the bills for all these extra expenses to SEIU.

  • Not Impressed

I thought it significant that a business owner commented on the foot traffic. The smaller businesses are apparently taking it on the nose. I predict the small business owners will take a lesson from this and many will close up shop. The result will be further contraction of business and the economy. Follow the dots and be prepared.

    • Barbara Paolucci

You’re right and add to your statement the fact that they don’t have a permit to protest anything. But our mayor – Bloombergistan – is all for it, liberal bastard that he is. He will never hold public office again. Interesting connections though, Bloombergistan takes his marching orders from Obama and the company that owns Zuccotti Park has Bloomberg’s girlfriend on the Bd of Directors – what a coincidence eh.

I notice that the last item on their list of demands is FORGIVE STUDENT LOANS. How about DON’T TAKE OUT LOANS YOU CAN’T PAY FOR, guys???

    • dazeygrade

I agree that it’s crazy to think that debt can just disappear when you borrow more than you can afford to pay back. Student loan debt is a big lesson to a lot of young adults about how the real world works.

However, I am a little sympathetic.

I got my first job when I was 12 years old – a paper route that I delivered after school and in the early morning on weekends. Christmas was the one day that I got off each year. When I was 15 1/2, I traded this job in for part-time work at the local courthouse.

While my peers took part in after school clubs and activities, I worked. And while they eventually got jobs to buy clothes, computers, and cars, I wore hand-me-downs, used an old computer with Windows 3.1, and didn’t have a car, because my earnings went directly into a savings account for college.

I thought with that and my good grades, I would have no trouble affording college.

I went to a state college, and my savings did pay for a year and a half. After that, I was out of luck. According to FAFSA, my father could pay my way through college, so I received no aid. My father was paying tuition for my four younger siblings to have a private education (as I did), so he didn’t have the funds to spare.

I took out loans under the assumption that when I graduated I would have a job. It didn’t need to be a great job to pay off the debt, just the level I could expect with my degree.

In my senior year, I was slapped with the reality of the job market. I was told by the career department that I could expect to search for at least 6 months, and they couldn’t assure me that I would end up with something. So, I searched. I handed out loads of resumes. I attended career fairs.

What I ended up with was choppy employment through a temp agency, doing work that I could have done without my degree. Even the courthouse that I used to work for turned me down for employment, because they had recently laid off about half of their employees due to funding cuts.

In the meantime, the interest rates on my loans have increased, some approaching 10%. I’ve had patches where I’ve had no income and couldn’t pay at all. I’m currently paying about $700 per month on them, and that doesn’t even cover the INTEREST. So, while I struggle to make ends meet as a warehouse worker, I’m watching my debt grow every month, knowing that this will be my life for the next 20-30 years, if I ever manage to pay it off.

I don’t think taxpayers should have to pay for my mistakes, and I’m sure if sanity prevails, no one is going to get all of their loans forgiven. I see where they’re coming from, though. It’s crippling. A lower interest rate at the very least would be nice. We can dream.

In Ashland, KY today a group of overweight fleabaggers were on the sidewalk screaming so loudly you couldn’t understand a word, but their signs said they wanted a “bright future”, funny, they didn’t take to my suggestion that they might get a job.

  • Rod H

One solution is obvious – sue the for the cleanup costs. With all their equipment and other resources there has to be money behind it somewhere.

From the San Jose Mercury News: “The Occupy Wall Street movement has close to $300000, as well as storage space loaded with donated supplies in lower Manhattan.”

Tie them up in court & that should reduce their impact.

Take God, morality and responsibity out of our schools. Teach them less like the dumbing down of our schools for the past 70 years. We end up with this. A whole lot of dummies and so called well educated idiots in our parks demanding socialiam which would turn to communism and dictiorship.
Well with nothing to do maybe they will read some good history etc, Learn something and become better citizens.

  • Barbara Paolucci

The owners of Zuccotti Park allowed The Flea Party to occupy – the costs for clean up, police, regular, overtime and benefits, and all damage done to local businesses plus shoplifting needs to be totaled and given to Bloomberg’s girlfriend who is on the board of directors of the corporation that owns the park for payment. And if Bloomberg doesn’t get total reimbursement for all of these costs – we the people just might take them to court. I’ve yet to see a notice about when this comes to an end – has anyone else?

Hey everyone there is no comparison of these mobs to the tea party. It is as clear as day. The obama started the class war fare and now it is out of control, and since there is no leadership in the government of these liberal cities it will go on until some major ugly thing happens and than we will scatch our heads and say what happen. You have college kids who ran up $130,000 in student loans and because obama has killed the econmy and there are no decent jobs, these student’s want the loans to be forgiven and the tax payer pick it up. Than you have groups that want to collapse our economic society, so that hard work, scarfices, and determination to achieve a better life is gone. Than you have people that are there just for the ride, have never worked a day in their life and do not care about the usa, and than there are groups that are being paid by the unions for a free vaction to take part in the protests. If these protesters would just look at them selves in the mirrow and instead of saying that society owes me a good paying job, free health care and etc and put their energies to work they you be working and not here. This is obama’s econmy, this is obama’s protests, and with no leadership he does know how to stop it because now it is out of control. The average american worker is out there working every day, remember 91% of the population is employed, and now they are going to being work extra harded and pay more taxes to clean up the messes that are made in each city. It is flirt and a disagrace but that is what you get with a president that has no leadership skills. Each none peaceful protester should be aresset have it put on their record and than let them try to go out and get a job.

Remember obama was very high up in ACORN, the muslim brotherhood, SEIU, UAW and the AFL-CIO. Obama is trying to buy the election by paying his protesters quite well for doing nothing but cause chaos, with your money. I do not think he can buy his way out of all the scandals he has on his plate now! Obama has proven he is no leader and if he is reelected head to Canada or Mexico, you would be freer!

  • Jerry

I still run into people, who I thought had brains, that blame everything on the Republicans, from Bush to Cheney, to Reagan, for our nation’s problems. They supposedly have facts to back up everything they say, and there is no convincing them otherwise. I still wonder why this party (Rep.) does not stand up to the socialists, it’s still seems like the old “country-club” Republicans, just trying to get along. How can we ever straighten this country out, if our leaders are wimps? Even the newly elected seem to lose their balls as soon as they get in office. I almost think they are afraid for their lives if they try to buck the BO steam roller. Does anyone think maybe they are being threatened with death or dismemberment to themselves or their families if they fight against this socialist takeover too vociferously? Just wondering what we are really up against. Does any body have an answer?

  • Allan

The least the protesters should do is PAY for their mess and any unauthorized use of private property. Police should start issuing tickets for failure to comply, especially since NY government is operating in the red financially.

I blame the voters for allowing this President to instigate this Communism,Socialism protest. See everyone! Obama has these young fools and NIAVE morons to do his dirty work for him.

    • BobM

Obama even stated in his books, he learned from marxists, he leans towards marxism. The media gave him a pass last election cycle, we therefor had a revolution already and as Gil Scott Heron would say “the revolution will not be televised” and it wasn’t by our state run media. But as he picks up momentum here they are.

  • tweety

Look at those who support these protesters: The Communist Party, the Nazi Party, Bill Ayers (a known terrorist) and President Obama. Duh!

  • patriciatyson

Okay, that does it. I’ve received this site for over two years. Seems everytime I post a blog it is refused. Why? There seems to be someone sitting on a computer hitting delete to anything I say. Sooooooooo Goodby Patriot Update!

  • David B.

These idiots just don’t get it! Say that they’re successful in tearing the rest of the country down with Oblama, where does that put them? Out of work,no home or food and or start stealing it from others because they’re to stupid to know any better. People will do anything to keep themselves alive then you have it and marshall law is implemented by King Oblama.I bet the majority of you have never experienced life under marshall law but I can assure you it’s no picnic. These libs need to pay the bill on this. You start fining them a percentage of the total cost of this and you’ll see this B.S. stop.

  • tweety

I heard a protester say on the news that even if they are arrested it is not their fault, since free speech comes first (before public safety, I guess)

  • RJJ

The city mayors that allow the Wall St. demonstrations to continue, allowing the city parks to be desecrated are cooperating with Obama’s foolish creation and attachment to this ACORN managed movement. It gives the city police tons of overtime for doing nothing but making sure there are no riots, who cares about the cost to the tax payer, it’s Wall St.’s fault. El Blamo blaming somebody else, as usual, for his failures.

  • John

A small correction we are almost 16 trillion dollars in debt much of it thanks to the clown in the white house

  • marc

maybe its time we bring in the military and clear out the protesters

  • Howard-the Banger Club

Here is another one to think about my dear tax payer: The Tomopah Solar Co. in Harry Reid’s Nevada is getting $737 mill from Obama’s DOE. Project to produce 110 Mega watt power system employ 46 permanent workers. That’s costing us 16 million per job. One of the investment partners is Pacific Corporate Group (PCG) PCG executive director is Ron Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi brotherin law. Email your senators/congress/Obama and ask if this project is being competative bid and if sole source why. Appears to be Obama’s Chicago style croney capitalism. Please, contact every one you can think of in our government to stop this project if not competative bid.

  • bruce

a small percent of this is true but most of it is respun truths to make it look bad.clearly the powers that be dont like the publicity .and they dont want people being in formed of real truth.theses events hav been well organized and mostly have helped small businesses in the areas and do not assault people but they have been assaulted repeatedly all over the united states and take care of their own needs and are helped by supporters ,the extra law enforcement is way over the top and not justified.way more hype than truth.tells me that they feel the sting are scared and dont like it.many of the so called incured expenses were caused or forced by the city’s themselves such as having police arrest over 700 in NYC and the n forcing bus drivers to work to haul all the victims when in reality they supported the people arrested. most of the time they will not show the real people that are there or report what they say,but only a few nut cases or any thing that makes it look bad.there are always the extreme fringes at any event or big public gatherings, but to label all that are there the same is just stupid if you believe far the vast majority of these people are keeping these areas clean and are taking care of themselves. dont believe the hype, better yet go see for yourself if you have doubts

    • Richard Holmes

Woodstock was a planed event that spiraled out of control due to unforseen circumstances, OWS is a socialist sham headed by the union and the liberal left. They don’t care that someone has to foot the bill for clean up. They won’t so the tax payers will. Throw all these worthless wastes of flesh to the hogs. Pigs have to eat too.

are these Idiots that are occupying new york suppose to be college educated people? if so our country is in trouble in the years ahead. They are the same dummies that elected Odumbo/Oblammer their Chief of Do Nothing.

What a president he goes after the Millionaires & Billionaires to Tax them and sends his Union Thugs and those Miserable little people in the park to do his Bidding.

I agree our country needs a Change but not the one Odumbo and those Radicals want. Modern day Robin Hoods steal from the Rich and give to themselves, how long do they think that will last? Like I said Idiots & Radicals with no common sense.

  • June

Get their names and give them a bill. If they don’t pay it sue them for it or throw them in jail. That’s what would happen to anyone else. It is time the politians make those responsible pay instead of the tax payers. We pay for enough garbage already. What gives them the right to make a mess and expect others to pay for it?

Can’t you guys see that you are falling into the trap set by Wall Street AND the Big Fed? Are you honestly decrying that you AGREE with the bailouts? You agree that Wall Street should be basically untouchable, that they will sell you a bad mortgage on purpose, and make you lose your home, knowing that the Feds will bail them out so they can jet off to Bermuda? You call that patriotism?? You call that capitalism??

There are a lot of free-loading hippies at these rallies. There is also this Libertarian that says enough is enough. You will not buy and sell my voice and my politicians any longer. I don’t care if you’re a tree-hugger or a gun-totin mama, you have the right to protect your property from thieves. These guys got away with murder and they’re laughing at the Tea Party, and they’re laughing at Occupy Wall Street, as both sides cause finger-pointing distraction from what is really going on. They’re laughing at you. They’re laughing at all of us, as they take our republic away from us, and sell it all off to China.

Surely a patriot can step back, wake up and see it.

      *And it’s spelled SYLLABLE.

    • Becca

I don’t agree with the bailouts…but who authorized those in the first place? And who has not followed up? Sure, the corporations are greedy and are misusing the funds given them, but what is the government’s role in that? And exactly who is being affected by OWS? NOT the corporations but the cities who have been overrun by them. Jesse Jackson was on the front page of our paper today, proudly being filmed by someone with an iPad (which I, a hard working, tax paying citizen cannot afford) as he worked to stop police from taking down tents that are there illegally. “you have the right to protect your property from thieves.” This is privately owned property. Do they have the right to protect their property? They have tried and the media crucifies them for it. How would you feel if a group decided to protest something in your area and chose your lawn to camp out in and leave trashed? And what about the hundreds of thousands of $$ OWS now has? Who is watching that? Will taxes be paid? Hmmm…maybe they could file as a corporation! Economic equality? Who ever guaranteed that? I don’t make as much as a lot of people, but I make more than a lot of people as well. Do I feel those who make more ought to give it to me so we are equal? No! This group is nothing but a bunch of THUGS, spurred on by the liberal left.

    • Rachel

Who authorized the bailouts?? The corporations! If you don’t bail me out, I won’t allow you to be re-elected. It’s as simple as that. Our Congress is OWNED. Your vote does not matter. They will eliminate anyone from Congress that doesn’t give them what they want, no matter who you elect.

    • John

tea Party Has rallies, this is a mob with a mob mentality so there is no reasoning with them. Why is the city governments so afraid to clear them out? Do you think obama has anything to do with this mob because he approves of what they are doing it fills his socialist agenda to take over America (for the good of the party?)

  • Yellow Horse

America paying for protesters?? Why the hell knot??? We pay for everything else!!!

I think they should charge each person there a fee for the cleanup etc. If I was to rent a place for a few a month some where they would require a downpayment to clean up the room if it was not cleaned up when I left.

  • grayfox

Simple answer. They should be made to clean up the area before anyone leaves. Evidently their parents didn’t teach them how to clean up after themselves. Maybe a little time in a orange jump suit will teach them a valuable lesson.

  • Co-opted Confederate

Of Cours the Tax payers are footing the bill. BECAUSE No one in Any Government will send the bill to the Communist party of the U.S. , But if you or I litter or damage any public property we gert fined , jailed or both. What sucks about that folks.More over what does it tell us about: “the way our Governments work.” Where are the Washingtons, Franklins , Jeffersons, Adams’s, Madisons and Monroes, the Nathan HAles, the Paul Reveres of the 21st Centurey??
Where are the Grants, Shermans, the Jacksons, and the Lees, where ar the Pershings and the McArthura, where are the Eienhowers, the Bradlys the Pattons , the West morland, the Abrahms WHEN WE KNEED MEN LIKE THEM RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!!!
I’ll tell you if you haven’t figured it out yet, they all were killed in mid step by “political correctness.” I WEEP FOR MY NATION, and I pray.
