How The Left Hopes to Use Government to Control Every Aspect of Americans’ Lives

In Part 7 of this series, I explained how liberals use emotionalism to sell their socialist ideas to the American public. In this installment, I explain how the left hopes to use the government as their instrument of control over the lives of all Americans. Every American should understand that the statist mentality that prevails among liberals in Congress and the Obama administration is a seed that eventually blossoms into full-fledged socialism. Socialists have faith only in the state. In fact, to a socialist the state is god. This misguided faith in government is difficult to comprehend until one understands the ultimate goal of socialists—complete control.

Socialists seek to control every aspect of the individual’s life. To a socialist the state is the ultimate instrument of control. Mark Levin, author of Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto, explains how socialists seek to control America by building a “…culture of conformity and dependency, where the ideal citizen takes on drone-like qualities in service to the state, the individual must be drained of uniqueness and self-worth, and deterred from independent thought or behavior.” (Eli Lake, The Washington Times, March 30, 2009).

History and experience show that big government is inherently inefficient. The reason for this inefficiency goes beyond just size—although students of organizational behavior know that big is typically synonymous with inefficient. Even in the private sector, organizations tend to lose efficiency as they grow. However, the private sector at least has the marketplace to enforce a semblance of discipline. The government, on the other hand, is ruled by politics not markets, and politics is the least disciplined concept known to man.

As America continues its descent into insolvency, entitlement, and moral decay, the federal government continues to grow. As a result, the types of productivity-sapping inefficiencies associated with the former Soviet Union are beginning to be seen in the United States. This is how Mark Levin describes America’s rapidly-growing, increasingly-centralized government: “It churns out a mind-numbing number of rules that regulate energy, the environment, business, labor, employment, transportation, housing, agriculture, food, drugs, education, etc. Even the slightest human activity apparently requires its intervention: clothing labels on women’s dresses, cosmetic ingredients, and labeling. It even reaches into the bathroom, mandating showerhead flow rates and allowable gallons per flush for toilets. It sets flammability standards for beds.” (Eli Lake, The Washington Times, March 30, 2009).

This intrusive, oppressive approach to governing is what excites liberals. They see it as their most effective means of control, and it certainly is that. The type of oppressive government that socialists advocate undermines initiative, ambition, free-thought, the work ethic, freedom, liberty, and the entrepreneurial spirit. Among the many problems associated with big government, one stands out above the rest: it does not work. One of the main reasons it does not work is that it seeks to control people who eventually tire of being controlled and yearn for freedom and liberty.

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 was slipped thru congress during the Christmas break with the majority of it’s members absent.

The Federal Reserve is self serving and privately owned in violation to the Constitution, charging interest on illegally printed money. Money printed from nothing!
In America On June 4, 1963, a virtually unknown Presidential decree, Executive Order 11110, was signed with the authority to basically strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the United States Federal Government at interest. My new health care law. Get your grubby little pecker-skinning hands out of my pocket. Hospitals will be required to pay their own bills for accepting people without money or insurance. If you have a pregnancy without an ability to pay you get a hysterectomy and we save the baby who has committed no wrong, we find the father and he gets castrated. The kid that eats the most marbles doesn’t get saved and therefore doesn’t reproduce. Basically, the responsibility takes place before the behavior; and the poor personal decision is not socially subsidized nor is it rewarded by forcing others to pay for an even worse decision.
