The author of this quotation is unknown, but I think the sentiment could easily be applied to Republicans specifically and conservatives in general. Conservatism is gaining in popularity because it does offer real hope and more than change in our pockets. People are changing their minds and moving in the right direction.
Hopefully, we all know that there is no party or politican that is going to save us. But, the right people, doing the right things, can help fertilize the business environment. They can reduce regulations and the excessive control that currently pervades our lives.
In light of the current economic situation and a gloomy looking tomorrow, even some left-leaning people are beginning to lean to the right. This is really good news and ushers in even more hope for a Romney victory in November. I’m more and more convinced that we will see a Republican landslide. For more reasons why I think Romney will win see my previous article: http://patriotupdate.com/articles/forget-the-pollsters-ask-your-vegas-odds-maker-he-knows-who-will-win-the-white-house
The economic reality of today is impossible to deny or explain away. Americans are now ready for real hope and change. When voters cast their ballots for hope and change in 2008 they failed to ask the key question; what is the promised hope and change going to look like? Today, they know. The see it. They feel it.
Obama’s promised hope turned out to be only an empty word, not a reality. These same people who voted for him are sensing little hope and they find only change left in their pockets. When all the new taxes hit, they won’t even have that.
A good number of folks who previously voted for Obama are going to vote for Romney in November. A superb example of such a person is New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, who had been a democrat for many years. She is now supporting Governor Romney.
During her speech at the Republican National Convention she said,
“Before I ran for district attorney, two Republicans invited my husband and me to lunch, and I knew a party switch was exactly what they wanted. So, I told Chuck, “We’ll be polite, enjoy a free lunch, and then say good-bye.” But we talked about issues — they never used the words Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal. We talked about many issues, like welfare, is it the way of life or hand up? Talked about size of government, how much should it tax families and small businesses? And when we left that lunch, we got in the car and I looked over at Chuck and said, “I’ll be damned. We’re Republicans.”
People know that something just isn’t working. What isn’t working are twenty-three million Americans. They are not working because Obama’s policies are not working. They can’t. These same policies have been used throughout history and they have never worked. They won’t work in the future. How can people still chant “Four more years! Four more years! Do they actually want four more years of what we just had for the last four years?
The fact that the President and his liberal supporters want to continue down the same track is somewhere in the neighborhood of insanity. How many times does a child put his hand in a fire to learn that it burns? The answer is once. For liberals it takes a lifetime of putting their hands in the fire to reach the same conclusion.
The left is out of ammunition. They are terrified they will lose this election. They should be afraid, very afraid. They are going to lose.
One clear sign that the left is in panic mode is that they have resorted to outright lying, personal attacks and hate speech. They cannot argue the facts. The facts condemn them.
They realize that they cannot argue that the last four years have been successful. They can no longer get away with blaming Bush. They know that their promises have little value since they haven’t kept their promises of 2008. And, their base is not that energized. They have a serious problem.
I am well aware that both sides, or all sides, of the political spectrum have used hate speech. Hate speech is despicable regardless of its source. But, there is no doubt that we hear much more of it from the left.
One major reason this is so is because the left dominates almost everything in the culture. They control or heavily influence the federal government, media, education, Hollywood, the medical community, legal community, and many major corporations like Home Depot, Starbucks, and more.
I get tired of hearing that those who love God, country, self reliance, mom, and apple pie are the ones that are hateful and mean spirited. In most cases it is those who actually practice hate that make the accusations. While those accused have to go on the defensive, the accusers actually practice it.
These two quotations are fairly representative of the rhetoric of the left. What is scary, beyond what they say, is that they really mean it. These people are angry and full of venom. In many cases they endorse killing those who disagree with them. The two quotations I present do exactly this.
“I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay… back anything over 100 million in personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of 100 million dollars and if they’re unable to live on that amount then they should go to the reeducation camps, and if that doesn’t help, then be beheaded.” Rosanne Baar
“..And then there’s Rumsfeld who said of Iraq ‘We have our good days and our bad days.’ We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say ‘This is one of our bad days’ and pull the trigger.” St. Petersburg Democratic Club
In just the last week, we have heard some similar hateful rhetoric from Hollywood’s Ellen Barkin and Yahoo Journalist David Chalian. At least Chalian was immediately fired for his comments about Republicans being racists. Keep in mind that anyone who disagrees with Obama is a racist.
The great news is that conservatives are in a good position right now. The Republican Convention gave Romney a boost in the polls and many people got to know him for the first time. We all got to know him better. We were able to see his compassionate side, his generosity toward others, and his passion for this country. Be encouraged. The tide is turning.
