The definition of “insanity” by various dictionaries (e.g. Merriam-Webster Dictionary):
Unsoundness of mind or lack of the ability to understand.
Extreme foolishness or irrationality.
Characteristic of or associated with persons afflicted with insanity: an
insane laugh; insane babbling.
I would add to that: lack of ability to recognize and be in harmony with reality.
“Mocking and scorning” (as opposed to intelligent reasoning) could also be included here as characteristics. Here’s what the Bible says about mocking and scorning. Proverbs 24:9, “The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.” Psalm 1:1, “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.”
I recently saw this subject line of an email in my email box about a recent article in the Huffington Post:
Homosexuals Demand that Chick-Fil-A Stop Serving “Gay Chicken”
My immediate reaction was one of disbelief. Could someone really think that they are seriously making a point? How desperate liberals usually are, just to try to make an anti-conservative point. I mean, pet owners know that animals will rub themselves on anything to try to relieve a sexual itch. But they aren’t selective or exclusive in that behavior, and therefore they can’t be branded as being one way or another.
“My god is a god of love” is something often heard by liberals who try to simultaneously claim they are Christian and excuse homosexual behavior. But even Bob Beckel (I’m no fan), an embarrassingly staunch liberal who says he is a Christian, concedes that the Bible is very anti-homosexual (something that most gays won’t acknowledge). Well, the real God is also a God of order and rules that are consistent with His design. And it is those rules that allow love and peace to exist.
That article is just another example that says that gays are basically insane and are using the public square to try to ground their insanity. They didn’t used to be called “queers” for no reason. And the American Psychiatric Association used to have homosexuality officially listed as the #1 psychological sexual disorder (hence, insanity) up until 1972 when they held their national convention in San Francisco and were bullied into changing their stance.
So it must be recognized that we are dealing with insane people. In fact that’s true for all liberals to one degree or another. Therefore we can’t be too surprised when they don’t act and speak civilly or rationally (which in itself is a sign of insanity … that is: being out of touch with reality).
I won’t be surprised if this article gets emotional responses. But it is a sign of insanity when people can’t peacefully reason their position first. The Bible says “Be slow to anger”, which means that anger is a part of God’s invention. But there should always be an attempt to peacefully and intelligently reason first. Hebrews 12:14, “Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”
A friend recently said: “The problem is that, unlike when we were growing up, the gay thing has now become so political. It was never that way when they were in the closet. Now everything has political overtones because homosexuality is not only accepted in our society, but even revered and respected. I can tell you for a fact that my daughters and their friends think that it’s perfectly “normal” to be “queer”. Therefore if you express any opinion that contradicts their lifestyle, you get hammered over it.” (There’s even a new TV show called “The New Normal” [as if God’s basic design could be modified], as Hollywood steps up its agenda to force sin on America).
Me: “Of course. That’s what insane people do … they “hammer” instead of intelligently and peacefully reason. (And by definition, an attribute of insanity is: not being in touch with reality.) It’s just good to recognize what we are dealing with and not be surprised when people are blind to the truth.”
Him: “And even if it’s not intended to cause a stir, they turn it into a political firestorm.”
Me: “…which is just an expression of their personal internal firestorm and not a reflection on the truth. And as the Bible says, only THE truth will set a person free. So until they align with the truth, they won’t be completely internally free. And opinions are not a substitute for what the truths of reality are, which are fixed and not changeable by beliefs or opinions. And the more that a person gets in line with reality, the more sane they become.
The way to tell who is in insanity or not is by who gets emotional and who peacefully and intelligently reasons. And those emotions don’t have to necessarily be anger, they can also be arrogance, despair, mocking, etc.”
Some might say that I’m being “homophobic” or anti-gay. But what if what I’m saying is the truth? (And I’ve proven it to be with my books and DVDs). Then wouldn’t it be better to hear it now, while a person is still alive and can do something about it? And wouldn’t it be more loving to tell the truth and take the possible heat … rather than remain quiet and let people have a disaster after their life, and perhaps diseases and traumas now?
In fact it is Biblically mandated that Christians and Jews say something now:
Ezekiel 3:18 “When I say to a wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.”
Ezekiel 3:20 “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.”
Ezekiel 33:6 “But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.”
Mark 8:38 “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
