Obamanomics: The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Written on Saturday, August 6, 2011 by

obama air force one

Like everybody else, presidents have birthdays and have a right to celebrate them and invite others to join them in the festivities. But taking advantage of the occasion to bash the rich and then charge some of them a whopping $40,000 to be able to sit near him as he observes his birthday is nothing short of outrageous.

The only thing President Obama excels in is fundraising — after all, when a president puts the arm on you, you can hardly say no. And the president has been putting the arm on a lot of his rich friends lately and raising big bucks for his upcoming reelection campaign. It’s a shame he can’t create jobs as efficiently as he raises money for himself. If he did I might even vote for him. However, he doesn’t, and so I won’t.

He should quit blaming the rich for being successful and take a look in the mirror. Instead of quoting my father to justify himself and his shocking incompetence he should try to imitate my Dad and try to govern as well as my Dad did.

In just barely two years he has driven the economy into a ditch yet has the gall to blame our economic troubles on President Bush, who has been out of office for two years. Moreover, during the last four years of the Bush presidency, Congress, which controls the purse strings and thus the economy, was controlled by the Democrats. It wasn’t George Bush who overspent; it was the Democrats on Capitol Hill who did their best to imitate the most drunken of the legendary drunken sailors.

“Spend and elect” has long been the policy for the Democratic Party and they have been on a spending spree since taking control of Capitol Hill with nary a word of caution coming from the Obama White House. The nation is already staggering over Washington’s out-of-control spending spree and we have yet to begin to pay the monstrous bills for such costly programs as Obamacare.

It appears that Barack Obama and his toadies on Capitol Hill have no concern over the fact that their overspending is placing a burden on our children and grandchildren, who will be burdened with paying the bill this generation’s overspending is putting on their shoulders. The time-honored American policy of each generation leaving their children a prosperous nation has been reversed by Obama and his Capitol Hill allies. Their heritage will be mountains of debt.

We are now experiencing a monetary crisis thanks to Obamanomics. The savings of the American people have been savaged by the president’s economic policies and the value of the dollar has plummeted, sending the price of gold skyrocketing. Economists are warning that the nation is heading into a double-dip recession.

Incredibly, the president and his toadies in the media and on Capitol Hill are blaming that growing army of Americans in the tea party for the economic problems for which he and he alone are to blame. Decent American citizens who comprise the tea party are labeled terrorists for daring to oppose Obama’s quasi-Marxist policies.

At the heart of Obamanomics is the discredited political movement that has its roots in the political and economic policies of Karl Marx. It is a policy that has wreaked havoc whenever its ugly head is raised.

Even with the debt-ceiling compromise in place, the stock market this week proved that investors are still nervous about the economy’s long-term health.

It may be a happy birthday for the president. It is not, however, a happy occasion for the American people, who are paying for the gifts he’s giving to himself.

Because my Dad was a general I was fortunate enough to meet President Eisenhower a couple of times for a couple of seconds. I later worked in LBJ Whitehouse and cursed my countries demise. I finally met Reagan and felt proud once again, take my word for it, you just got to be there. I’ve met the Bush’s and Clinton several time’s, nothing! O’B has but one goal, to destroy MY country.

Mary Ford, one of the reasons the GOP has a tough time regaining control is we have members with dumb ideas.

Nearly half of those have consistently gone along with the socialists. Rather than discharge their mandate they have decided that they know what is best for their constituents and have voted with the DC crowd. That allows them more time in the gym, surfing the net, and enjoying the grown-up pleasures provided by the lobbyists.

    • armyvet

That’s exactly why the Tea Party was formed! People are fed up with the ‘good ole boys club’ who refuse to listen to the people.

I agree Sanysue and Micro. We spent 22 years in the service and now I see what is happening and it is very shocking. Whoever would have “thunk?” (Yes, that is a word in the dictionary). Probably for this day and age and everything that is going on.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ronald Reagan when he was running for govenmor of California I was 6 or 7 years old and when he bent down to talk to me I knew he was a great man. I gave him an award from the booster club, he gave me a kiss on the cheek

    • daves

Reagan was not moved. Over the remainder of his presidency, at least 3000 people would die, mostly at the hands of the South African police and military. Another 20,000, including 6000 children, according to one estimate by a human rights group, would be arrested under “state of emergency” decrees.

Yet Reagan had the gall to say in 1985 that the “reformist administration” of South Africa had “eliminated the segregation that we once had in our own country”. In 1986, Reagan gave a speech where he said Mandela should be released but denounced sanctions with crocodile tears, claiming that they would hurt black workers, who were already ridiculously impoverished.

Reagan’s go-slow speech was denounced by Tutu, who said: “I found it quite nauseating. I think the West, for my part, can go to hell . . . Your president is the pits as far as blacks are concerned. He sits there like the great, big white chief of old.”

Later in 1986, Reagan made his greatest demonstration yet that black bodies were “expendable”. Congress had finally had enough of the carnage to vote for limited sanctions. Reagan vetoed them. Congress overrode the veto. Reagan proceeded to put no muscle behind the sanctions. Mandela remained in jail and at least 2000 political prisoners remained detained without trial.

In 1987, Reagan published a report that said additional sanctions “would not be helpful”. The gleeful South African foreign minister, Roelof Botha, said Reagan “and his administration have an understanding of the reality of South Africa”.

Reagan’s and Botha’s “reality” was rendered a fantasy by the force of world opinion and a more enlightened leadership inside South Africa.

Only a year after Reagan left office, Mandela was released. One can only wonder how much sooner he would have been released and how many lives would have been saved had Reagan not behaved like the white chief of old.

I think Obama should be the first president whereby upon retirement he does not get a pension, medical care, secret service protection and is barred from holding any office in the land or involved in politics. He also need to register as a domestic terrorist and wear a GPS tracking device and all communications monitored 24-7 for life. Never trust a Muslim mole. Now there’s some cost savings and doing the country a favor. It is my hopes the america people will rememebr this idiot as being the worse president that nation has ever had and never forgotten. We can not afford to make this mistake twice if we get a second chance. From what I’ve been listening to and hearing, the pary may be over.

  • FlaJim

The title of this piece should be ‘The Gift That Keeps Taking.’ Don’t think we’ve heard the end of debt or spending or taxing for a while.

The spending spree was barely dealt with and raising the debt ceiling was only to pay for some of the spending that’s already been done or earmarked. The ink wasn’t dry on the agreement before the usurper started whining again about ‘raising revenues’ — increasing taxes. As it is, there are several taxes about to be imposed or increased over the next year if Congress doesn’t put the brakes on them.

It should also be noted that the CBO’s less than sterling assessment of the recent agreement assumes the Bush tax cuts will expire next year, increasing current rates by 30% to 50% and adding millions of people who currently pay no taxes.

If the usurper’s goal is to destroy the US economy, and I believe it is, he’s done a bang up job of it. Once again, it will take responsible GOP leadership to pull the fat from the fire and those leaders are not currently in place.

    • armyvet

The smoke and mirrors again. There will be an automatic tax increase! The Bush tax cuts will expire, and they failed to vote to extend them. They hope no one will notice. So Obummer will get his tax increase. He is grumbling to make people think otherwise.

    • daves

Wow – President Bush only lowered the tax rates by 2 or 3 percent for the top tax bracket. Now you say they will go up 30 to 50 percent when they expire?? How does that work?

A friend of mine sent me this
and I’d like to share it with you.

Entitlement my — , I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the money, doesn’t make my benefits some kind of charity or handout !!

Congressional benefits, aka. free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that’s welfare , and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements!!!!!!……scroll down……………

    What Is wrong???

Tuesday’s Daily Bulletin paper, ran two articles on the front page side by side:

1- Calif ‘s 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit

2- The Calif Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get benefits.

Why don’t they just deport them when they arrive to register?

3- Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to Calif Taxpayers from Illegal’s using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care –

At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year.

Someone please tell me what IS wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!

We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,??????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, Turkey, Japan, and Pakistan …..home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$’s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc..

They have a ‘Benefit’ for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries.

    Sad isn’t it?

99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.
    I’m one of the 1% — I Just Did

keep up the good work, I just posted on another site about the same thing. There is a story out there about a teacher in Los Angeles that has a great story about the Title I schools and section 8 housing and yes most of them are from illegals. Hell why should they care they have it made. We will continue to carry the water because we too would like a sip. There are multiple stories about the costs of the programs funding the illegals. Why cant the liberals see that this is killing ALL of us. It will take people like you and millions more that are getting the message and making it known. I work with many of these people and lets not mistake anything, by the most part they hate our guts and have no remorse in the way they feel and the way they act. Like the teacher in L A said Its just a tomatoe I’ll pay more for it but my taxes are out of hand.

The S&P downgrade will destroy Obama and the Democrats. S&P was looking for passage of the Cap and Balance legislation that Cantor and the Tea Party has passed.

Let the Democrat’s excuses begin but that will fall on deaf ears. They will have to shoulder the blame for this all the way through the next bloodbath election. The electorate is pissed. Obama and the Democrats are toast but what sort of damage will they continue to perpetrate on : “We the People”

Government freeloaders, please disregard this message.

After the weapon sales were revealed in November 1986, President Ronald Reagan appeared on national television and denied that they had occurred. A week later, however, on November 13, 1986 Reagan returned to the airwaves to affirm that weapons were indeed transferred to Iran, but that they were not part of an exchange for hostages. On March 4, 1987 in a nationally televised address to the nation he took full responsibility and admitted that “what began as a strategic opening to Iran deteriorated, in its implementation, into trading arms for hostages.”

While hiking down along the border this morning, I saw a muslim fall into the Rio Grande River ; he was struggling to stay afloat because of all the guns and bombs he was carrying. Along with him was an illegal Mexican who was also struggling to stay afloat because of the large backpack of drugs that was strapped to his back.

If they didn’t get help, they’d surely drown. Being a responsible Texan and abiding by the law to help those in distress, I informed the El Paso County Sheriff ‘s Office and Homeland Security. It is now 4 PM , both have drowned, and neither authority has responded. I’m starting to think I wasted two stamps…

A popular practice amongst men of influence in Muslim Afghanistan is the ritual of “Bacha Bazi” – or “Dancing Boys.” You can see for yourself in this video how this self-declared religious Jihadist Muslim (who is a respected member of the community) exploits young boys for money and sexual gratification. How is it justified in the “Religion of Peace” to persuade poor parents to sell off their children into a life of homosexual sex slavery?

Well, then those rich people who did go and pay, are idiots!
If you looked at who went there, it’s the same old ‘commies’ who worship the ‘imposter’ (as The Savage Nation calls him). Many African Americans, many Jewish people who care nothing about him being anti-Israel, because they’re so ‘fat.’ They see nothing, but themselves. All of those who went, want to pay more taxes, and want him to be a dictator. Scary thought!

    • daves

Sounds very selfless to me. Willing to pay more taxes to help America’s financial situation.

I agree with Donald Trump that we should have
held up for a better deal like get rid of the
obamacare and more in pay down the cost of the
debt. We should see his real birth certificate
in Honolulu. He used the tax payers money to get his Lawyers to hold off on the group that
is going down to see if his birth certificate
is a forgery. The one he put on line was and
so the expert that will compare his real one
is being held up by the lawyers. By the way,
he used $800.000 of the tax payers money to
hold up them seeing his birth certificate. He
should not be allowed to us our money for
whatever he wants. Folks, we need to put
in laws and those in Washington need to abide
by them. There job is to serve us not to be
served and that is what they are doing living
like Kings while we suffer. Wake Up America

    • daves

Can you prove that he used tax payer money? I am pretty willing to be that it is not true.

Heard on the news today and S&P may decide to down grade the U.S. credit rating again if the debt ad deficit are not realisticly addressed. Of course Obama’s idea of addressing the problem is more taxes not realistic spending cuts, reform of the tax code, and reworking of Medicare and Social security. The GOP also needs a PR campaign negating all the lies of the Dems and Liberals. The big lie is about how the GOP wants to gut Medicare and Social Security. People need to be reminded that it was Obama that took 500 billion dollars from Medicare for Obamacare. Obama is just a big liar!!!

    • daves

This might be the most common line of attack of them all. We’ve seen many versions of the claim that the health care bill cuts Medicare by $500 billion. That’s actually a reduction in the future growth of spending over 10 years, not a slashing of the current budget, as we’ve pointed out. To put that in context: The Congressional Budget Office estimates that federal Medicare spending will be $519 billion this year, and $929 billion in fiscal year 2020, even with these cuts. The health care law calls for a reduction in the currently projected growth of federal outlays of about 7 percent over the decade.

Claims that these cuts will “hurt the quality of our care” ignore the fact that the law adds some benefits to Medicare, such as free preventive care and more prescription drug coverage. And the law (section 3601) says that guaranteed Medicare benefits can’t be reduced. But one group of seniors — those on Medicare Advantage plans, about 10 million beneficiaries — will likely lose the extra benefits they receive, such as gym memberships or spare eyeglasses. These private plans currently get paid more by the government per enrollee than traditional Medicare, and the law brings those payments in line with the regular program, over time.

Great article. But please! Please! Could you and other political columnists refrain from using the “Drunken Sailor” metaphor.

I was a proud sailor serving my country. Yeah, I got drunk. Wouldn’t you if you were out at sea for long periods of time fighting for and defending your country. That’s a hell of a lot more than one can say about the Obama guy and his Democratic thieves.

Call them “Drunk Socialists”, or something like that. Why not have a naming contest (to have some fun) and come up with a new metaphor. Winner gets a trip to your Dad’s Library.

The article says people’s savings have been savaged by Obamanomics. I would agree but that is not the whole story. People are still saving because they want to save. They are just not saving in a way that is trackable by the financial services industry. People are not buying that new car or newer model used car unless they can pay cash.

And what about people who are converting savings to gold and silver? How would the financial services industry track that? We can see it by the spot price of precious metals. The downright volatility in the silver market is very telling, even though it has yet to eclipse the all-time high of around $50 per ounce, there have been swings of 10% in the spot price in a single day!.
