Planned Parenthood Rep: Christianity “Going Down”

Written on Monday, January 6, 2014 by

For those of us so very blessed to have raised our personal white flag in mankind’s inherently fruitless struggle against the Creator, there can be no joy in watching God-deniers continue to labor under the grandest of all deceptions. Regardless of how nasty they may be as individuals, there can be only sadness, genuine pity and prayer.

Still, it is instructive.

When the atheist gives voice to his or her God-denial, it provides those in Truth a small glimpse into the same dark spirit – old as Adam – that prompted the psalmist to observe: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good” (Psalm 14:1).

Valerie Tarico is one such God-denier. She’s on a fool’s errand. A steadfast disciple to the unholy trinity of “LGBT,” atheist and pro-abortion activism, Ms. Tarico proudly sits on the Board of Advocates for Planned Parenthood – America’s premier one-stop-death-shop.

For “progressives” like Tarico, the term “religious fundamentalism” is a euphemism for orthodox Christianity. In a tedious, though unintentionally funny screed recently published at under the headline: “10 signs that religious fundamentalism is going down,” Ms. Tarico gives empty hope to her fellow hopeless with a word salad steeped in anti-Christian bigotry and wishful thinking. I share excerpts only because they so clearly encapsulate the broader secular-”progressive” mindset. Ms. Tarico’s reflections are so hyperbolic – so far removed from reality – that they require little additional commentary.

“[T]hings are looking bright for those who would like to see humanity more grounded in science and reason,” she begins. “If you are a nonbeliever in the mood for a party, here are 10 reasons to celebrate.”

She then rattles off a litany of tired claims the pagan left has repeated annually since the year 0001.

The nutshell? Atheism is on the rise, while Christianity is in decline. “Queer sexuality” is winning, while “biblical sexuality” is losing, yada, yada and so forth. (Total truth, of course, can be ignored, disobeyed, denied, temporarily repressed or masked, but it can never lose.)

“From Hollywood celebs like Cameron Diaz and Angelina Jolie to high school students, skeptics are opening up,” she caws, going on to sing the praises of fellow atheists like Alain de Botton, who “simply posits the nonexistence of God and then goes on to discuss what humanity can glean from the rubble of religious traditions.” (You know, Christian “rubble” like charity, hospitals, nursing, the Red Cross, the abolition of slavery, the civil rights movement, et. al.)

Ms. Tarico then throws out a few earthshaking discoveries – scriptural “dog whistles,” I guess – that, heretofore, have somehow eluded every biblical scholar since the Apostle Paul: “Perhaps the most consistent sexual theme in the Bible,” she declares, “is that a woman’s consent is not needed or even preferred before sex.”

Say what?

“By demanding an end to rape culture,” she adds (whatever that is), “today’s young women and men are making the Bible writers look as if they were members of a tribal, Iron Age culture in which women were property like livestock and children – to be traded, sold and won in battle. Small wonder the culture warriors have ramped up their fight against contraception and abortion. Imagine if, on top of everything else, all women got access to expensive top-tier contraceptives and the power to end ill-conceived childbearing.”

Zing. Ouch. Busted. Small wonder, indeed, Valerie. (See why I said little additional commentary is required? OK, I admit it: I have considered selling my children. Don’t judge. You haven’t driven cross-country with them.)

In perfect keeping with the instinctive habits of the indigenous North American “progressive,” Ms. Tarico then goes on to make up a bunch more crap.

Of “believers in recovery” she waxes worried, while sounding the alarm over some really scary sounding pretend thingy called “Religious Trauma Syndrome,” followed with analysis most scholarly on the imaginary “relationship between religion and mental illnesses like depression, anxiety disorders and panic.”

Finally, Ms. Tarico offers hope beyond hope that “religious fundamentalism itself may one day be treatable.”

Shazam! Electrodes, anyone?

Oy vey.

While “a mind is a terrible thing to waste,” how much more a soul? The secular-”progressive” mind is a curious thing – a waste of God’s purpose for the very soul, the very life to whom it was gifted.

What is the meaning of life? It’s not complicated. The meaning of life is to “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Luke 10:27).

This is true freedom. “It is for Freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:5).

From the freedom of Christ stems “the fruit of the Spirit,” which is “love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).

Without Christ, there is no freedom.

There is only death.

Those who live by the Spirit of Christ “will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want (Galatians 5:16-17).

This is at odds with man’s fleshly desire – which began in the garden – for autonomy from God. The God-denier seeks to fill the void where Christ belongs with “acts of the flesh.”

Warned Paul: “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21).

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24).

Those who do not – have not.

When God-deniers like Ms. Tarico dig in their heels, a pitiable paradox occurs. While they think they’ve achieved intellectual enlightenment and freedom, they have, instead, been played for the fool. They have become slaves to the flesh, and playthings to the enemy.

Ultimately, there is no autonomy. In the end we each belong to one Master or the other.

Ms. Tarico, the end is just the beginning.

And eternity is a very long time.

So very well said. Thank you!

Christianity rising…now, if only the Churches would join in.

    • MyronJPoltroonian

As I’ve been saying for years now, “The only thing I have against ‘Organized Religion’ is that it’s so ‘Organized’.”

    • Eagle2758

The Church is not perfect, and will not be until our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ returns. It is OUR responsibility to stand our ground,eh.

    • Grammy

That’s right. The problem with most of the feel good churches these days is that they want people to leave with a false sense of security instead of with the truth of God. These false church leaders will answer to God one day as well.

    • charles

may churches have a very flesh oriented sermons. still begging GOD to be merciful or supply needs or that he would heal. not teaching that at the moment of receiving JESUS your old nature dies and we are given a new spirit. we have not been given a spirit of bondage again to fear but a spirit of adoption where by we cry abba father.this new spirit or nature only produces good fruit and cannot sin. it is the same spirit we will have for all eternity. it is perfect and it is exactly how GOD see you now. because we are adopted we share in the inheritance with JESUS equally. we already have everything inside our new spirits.all the joy, peace and faith we could ever need. to be more then conquers means not only do we have the victory, but we share in the spoils. everything JESUS said was the truth, so when he said verily verily, he is saying that this is truth you will have trouble wrapping your mind around. go to: AWMI.NET. have the eyes of your heart opened.

  • CajunPatriot

True Christianity is based on the Rock–Christ Jesus. He cannot go down again, since He has already been there and overcame hell, death, and the grave, and rose again! He is unshakeable, He is un-moveable. He is the Conqueror and will not return to a defeated Church. Christ is returning as the Ruling King. If you are with Christ Jesus, you shall not be defeated and shall not be ashamed. He will protect you and provide for you. I know. I have been there and done that and will continue in Christ.

  • Sam

These radicals aren’t going to get me to agree with them. I love Jesus and always will. It’s only going to be a little while longer before we are going home.

  • Mys77

The mentally ill have a following…look at this woman and then say, is there any reason why we should listen to the deranged? Look at the happy abortionist, the destroyer of babies, families, love, kindness, joy…look at this woman and her sick rants….. The sad thing, PP kills innocent babies. Christians don’t….we are still having children, loving children, going to church…. praising God…. and this woman is so evil, why doesn’t she just take herself out? Christianity dying, no….still here, still praising and spreading the gospel….and having babies.

    • rightsmite

By the time most of these young fools and morons realize what they have said and what they have done their life will be over and they will be begging God to save them. It seems that are youth and most young adults are mentally ill. It is that group that is attempting to destroy what was once called civilization. They are all just “young cannibals”

    • Eagle2758

Another Crusade will open their young, naive, gullible eyes.

    • Grammy

Amen! You can tell we are winning the war for Christ by their desperate rants such as this. They are sad and pathetic, I actually feel sorry for them.

    • charles

Christianty does not stand on anything man does or does not do. it stands ONLY on what JESUS did.actually, there are those that claim to be a Christian, that are having abortions and viewing porn. also engaging in much destructive behavior. many churches are teaching things that are not true and not teaching stuff that is true.

  • david pope

i am not a religious person but i do support their right to live their faith. i will never support the attacks that are going on right now. one thing i will tell they relgious people. you better get up off your butt and start standing up for yourself

    • Eagle2758

Ever heard of the Crusades? That’s how you remind them,eh. Sounds like it’s time for another – Lock & Load.

    • rightsmite

A new “crusade” will not help it will make things worse. The crusades are what feeds the Muslim hate today. They have NOT forgotten. They do not call them the Crusades, they call them the CROSS WARS and to this day they paint crosses on targets not a bullseye. George Bush on the day of 9-11 said this will begin a NEW Crusade, which fueled their rage. The left actually points to the Crusades as proof that Christians are barbarians and like Muslims their religious fanaticism has to be stamped out. Neither the left nor the muslims recognizes that Jews and Christians do NOT kill unless they are attacked and are NOT commit suicidal acts of terrorism because of the religious reformation of the Middle Ages. Our current problem is NOT religious it’s Political. It’s the current political ideology that’s causing the problems. We need a change of political regime that’s permanent or for at least 50 yrs to rid our country of the communist vermin and their Marxist -Hitleristic ideology and attitude. The left is currently taking us down the road of Hitler. Read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and you will see where we are. It’s very freightening. The left has almost taken our ability to do anything at the polls and now we can’t trust some who say they are on the right. Its Time to clean house. Kristalknacht awaits us if we do nothing.

    • Laddyboy

You sound like you are reading from some ‘Common Core’ books that the government is trying to trick/buy/force onto the American People.

    • rightsmite

No, I am NOT reading from a book I am just stating facts. I know Muslims and the Crusades are a real hot button for them. If you want to read about the damage the Crusades created read Constantines Sword.

    • NoMoreMarxistsInDC

That’s horsesh*t. Muslims were the instigators of the Crusades. They invaded Christian lands. Besides they were up against all of Christian Europe. There was NO United States at the time. They are making stuff up to instigate wars and attacks against us. They were still doing it on the Barbary Coast when our Marines went in and kicked their ass*s once and for all.

And, what about the Russians and the Chinese and the Indians they’ve been terrorizing????? MOOSLIMS hate everybody. What needs to happen is Russian, Chinese and Indian armies need to sweep in and take Mecca and level it to the ground and demoralize their religious psyche for generations.

    • rightsmite

It does not make any difference to the Muslims who instigated the crusades to them it’s their way or the highway and the invasion and taking of Jerusalem in 1100 ad in their minds was justified just as every terrorist act is justified. It does not matter that the united states existed or not in the time of the crusades, what does that have to do with the rational of Muslims for their war against Christianity? You missed the point. It doesn’t make any difference if they are the aggressors or what the situation is, it is still the other side fault as is everything today. No matter what crime they commit they are innocent in their deranged mind because Allah told them to do it. The world will not be safe until the ideology of Islam and jihad are destroyed. By the time the world finally realizes that Islam is not a religion but a political ideology like Marxism, it will be too late. America is full of fools like the ones that support Obama and the Muslims know it and see us as an easy target, they will take their time torturing and destroying us .

  • bbarnicle

PBS years ago did a multi-part series on the history of witchcraft, written from what I took to be the witchs’ perspective (which made it more accurate, in my mind). Anyway, a large part of one segment explained how birth control and abortion has its roots in witchcraft. Through the centuries, women have relied on their local witch or female healer or pagan ‘spells’ to give them power over childbearing. This went beyond just making herbal medicines to induce abortion or work as a contraception….it was directly interwoven with a godess/female power religion. Sure, some women bought potions just for the practical use as a contraception., but I’m saying that by their own admission and their own history-based documentary (with sources), the females that held and passed on this potion/spell knowledge did so within a witchcraft and female-power agenda.

The documentary drew a solid line from centuries of abortion and contraception use to witchcraft and the desire of women to be freed from the control of their husbands or men in general…a kind of age-old feminism. To me, I see that same spirit continued in the Planned Parenthood from the Margaret Sangers of the world.

  • bmoc

Sorry, church attendance is up. You must be living in a different dimension.

  • mari

She just wants to hurry the day when she can dance around a golden calf and sacrifice more children to her idol.

  • Graywolf12

I think she is a little confused. It is Islam not Christianity that places no value on females. Like Jesus told the devil “It is written down, look it up”.

  • rightsmite

While these idiots are destroying Christianity and our culture , the Muslims are hiding and waiting for the opportunity to kill all of them. That day will come sooner than they think if they keep to their destructive agenda.

  • Eagle2758

These turds need to be reminded what the Crusades were about, muzzies included. L&L.

  • Gregory Tbd

Planned parenthood was formed to keep the negro population down. Google it!

    • charles

that was the intention of the founder, margret sanger. there is a margret sanger award given out every yr. h. clinton gladly received it. google the georgia guide stones. interesting to say the least.

  • OleDad48

Matt, excellent post! As Christianity “goes down” in America, the danger from Muslim takeover increases. The signs are everywhere, and anyone who has studied biblical prophecy (particularly Daniel and Revelation) knows at the end, Israel stands alone before the “kings of the world.” America has been blessed by nearly 250 years of religious freedom. But America is turning from God to Self, discipline to comfort, rightness to nonchalance, moral standing to perversion. We are growing weaker, but it need not continue in this direction, at least in the short term. We have a choice, and America’s future will be determined by the choices each of us makes. The blindness of the Left makes them think they can break away from God and His Word and everything will just continue on as always. We already see the folly of that.

  • Verdes Lutz

Tarico, like all of the other PP advocates, is insane. The only reason to take this person seriously is because of the danger to life and liberty that she represents — she is an advocate of murder and perversion. If she had real power she would completely destroy civilization instead of doing it slowly, incrementally due to the constraints of civilization upon her — there is only so much that decent people can take. Whatever she has wrong with her goes deep. Scientists should study her.

    • edwinrad

Planned Parenthood is the outstretched arm of king Herod.

  • Grampy

Hopefully, Ms. Tarico will show up when the REAL Americans march on Washington in the spring. It will be the beginning of the restoration of our great country, and pitiful fools such as Tarico better not stand in the way.

  • Chuck Smith

Looks like this one (Ms Tarico) was one that got away from the abortion table. Her mother must be very proud of this woman ; or this is an abortion gone wild and she survived to continue the killing of babies.

  • Brown One

The gospel is radically because it calls men to give up their natural instinct to dominate and abuse women becoming servants as Christ sacrificially living for their wife’s best even they are not always so lovable. Christ is the model for the husband. This is the not Hollywood type of love that encourages men to abuse and use women as discard objects in their quests to sexually satisfied themselves. Unfortunately man-made traditions in Christianity have twisted scripture to allow abuse from men over women and the answer to this to radically call men to radically follow Christ’s example of love not false church traditions.

  • dan from ohio

Satan also thought Christianity was going down when Jesus was nailed to the cross.Sorry YOU LOSE!

    • wizard

No, Satan new that if JESUS made it to the cross that it was all over for Satan. JESUS is the ultimate sacrifice to all of us and for our sins.

  • Steve Tanton

This woman, Valerie Tarico is sadly, very sick.

    • Laddyboy

She needs to be interred in a mental hospital as Barry and his Co-conspirators. Excepting those eligible of Treason will have their hospital stay shortened forever.

  • Chet

Outstanding piece. Sadly, shouuld she continue on and ultimately die in her Sins she wiil be faced with those very words at the Great White Throne Judgment. Such place is beyond human comprehension as to the reality of God’s awareness of man’s every thought, word and deed. And as well, aware of the numerous opportunities for forgiveness and salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, but you would not.

I recall as a kid when a man sinned, say he was married and had a girlfriend, or was a gambler, a drunk or whatever, by and large, he would be looked down upon by the family, neighbors, his coworkes etc. In other words, he would have a price to pay for his wrongdoings (sins) and that’s aside from his accountability to the Almighty. And though he loved his sins he did not hate God, merely preferring to continue on and avoid the notion of God and repentance, for a season anyway. Not so today, we have a different class of lost sinner among us. A man can do pretty much whatever he wants with whomever he wants and no one cares. Then, there’s the crowd that not only rejects the Lord but actually hate him and his people. Such can be seen via atheist groups and others who demand no Merry Christmas, no Crosses in public, take God out of our Pledge of Allegiance and off our money, no simple little Nativity Scenes, no posting of the 10 Commandments and no praying in public unless of course one is in a crisis. Then there’s those who promote sexual promiscuity, i.e., fornication, adultery, homosexuality and abortion. And these people are not suffering in this life whatsoever, but, rather, are prospering like crazy. They are affluent, they manipulate the news, they’re wealthy, respected, and control the government and are in good health. There is no penalty in this life anymore for man’s wicked ways. In fact, one might even ride higher in the saddle gaining more and more all the time. And they’ll do so till they snap-out into eternity lost…

    • guestforaday

Chet you nailed it. No one cares anymore. I saw 2 bumperstickers on one car that said it all: “Ask me if i care” and “dont blame me, its not my fault”. Pretty much sums up the mentality of too many people nowadays. I work with mostly 20-somethings and they have no shame, no tact, no discretion. They will talk about anything with anyone, things that we were taught to not discuss in polite company (and i grew up in the 70’s). Still, there are many of us who do care and ask them, “Hey, that person may not want you talking about that” or “Dont you care?” or “Why do you do things like that if it creates so much drama/hurt/trouble in your life?” Not many people are taught right from wrong anymore either. If it feels good, do it….seems to be the golden rule now rather than, Treat others as you would like to be treated.

    • fableraye

The wind that goes through your very soul when you “Believe” is beyond trying to explain, it is glorious and it is life changing, this world is not our home.

  • Tony Donaldson

She’s just in love with herself. Her great utopia and free sex for everyone sounds kind of 1960 ish. She’ll actually pray to God some day. He’ll listen. She’ll learn. Her lessons in life are just beginning. She will always be in pain and misery. Her words prove her worth.

  • Buster Handcock

    Just a bunch of damn F O O L S!

  • Laddyboy

These ‘planned parenthood’ people are only hoods. Barry lied when he said he drew a line in the sand. He is not an American. Wait till you cross the ‘line’ of a true blooded American.

  • Harold

Fools have no conscience, just look at those in the capital who are running the country,(into the hole that is.)
If they, from the white house down had the best interests of America at heart, they would all resign. As far as ‘planned murderhood’ is concerned they are what the Bible calls fools!

  • William 1

She is sooooo ignorant about what the Bible says about sex! The very act of A MARRIAGE COVENANT proves her wrong and that is Gods position on all sex!
Every time one of theses braying jackasses opens their mouths on any thing shows the stoopid level of their “communist education”!

  • PatriotVet

When she is lying on her death bed, she, like all atheists and other fools will be soooo repentant. She WILL cry out to God for forgiveness! Just in case! And our Heavenly FATHER WILL forgive her IF she is truly repentant! Because that IS who is HE is! But, if she is not truly repentant, she WILL BURN for all eternity.

  • Kaitty

From your quotes etc i realize she is badly informed, has no idea as to what the Bible teaches and says
all for man’s benefit! A beautiful, loving gift! God being in charge Christianity will never die nor disappear.
So many just do not know what they are talking about.

  • Ed Leon

Absolutely beautiful article, well written, perfectly documented scripturally, and it hits the nail right on the head. Thank you Matt!!

  • 1776revisited

It’s kinda funny…I read this article as a Christian Libertarian and it just gives mo more strength, heart, and desire to fight harder than ever before…We must speak out politically, we must prepare for the destruction that is to come to this country, we must stand our ground against the Marxist progressives attacks, we must network with like minded individuals, and we must give glory to God always…They have no idea what kind of revolutionary machine they are creating…In the end, we win and they lose…

  • aRareSaneOne

They should stop slamming Christians and start slamming Jews who believe only in the Old Testament that liberals and atheists so like to twist but that would cause an uproar in their friends

  • Theand

If Believing in God is foolish and just a myth as the atheist insist. Why are they putting so much time, money, and energy into fighting a myth.

  • D Anderson

VERY WELL SAID, Matt Barber! What a gifted writer you are!

  • slave2six

Posted on CNS News by Valerie Tarico:

“The article opens with a bit of misinformation, and I would be most grateful if you could correct it. Although you represent my views with some accuracy, I am not a representative of Planned Parenthood and have no formal relationship with their national organization in any capacity. I realize that other articles have described me as a board member or member of their 400 person board of advocates, but this was in error. You could call me a Planned Parenthood “supporter” in the title, and that would be accurate. That said, my views are my own.

As a writer I realize how quickly errors and misinformation can spread across the internet.
    Valerie Tarico”

It seems only right and proper for a journalist to get his facts straight.

  • Taz Bright

I believe it’s time for me to pray and fast for Mrs. Valerie Tarico
