Real American Heroes

People Working in Warehouse

The world economy is in shambles, the USA has a huge debt problem and China quite literally owns everyone.  This is truly a dark time.  Our politicians have argued and bickered and sought to lay blame for the economic collapse of recent years and instead of solving our problems have actually made things worse – which is quite a feat.  What is the answer to the problems we and the world face?  How can we solve the most difficult economic questions of our day?  My friends, I have the answer.  The only way to fix what ails our economy is to await rescue by the American citizen.

In this election, we must elect the most business friendly, economically conservative candidate possible.  We must elect a candidate who will cut taxes across the board, who will cut spending across the board (perhaps even our defense spending), and who will eliminate restrictive (and expensive) regulatory practices by the government.

Whether liberals like it or not, common sense dictates that the richest amongst us can create the most money.  The more we tax our wealthy, the less money they have to return to the economy.  When billionaire investor Warren Buffet wants to invest his money he does not place it into a vault at the local Bank of America, no, he buys shares of Bank of America.  If we tax him more, he has less money to invest, which means bank of America has less money to lend, which means Joe the Plumber on Main Street can expand his business, which means Jim the Plumber doesn’t get that job offer, which means higher unemployment and less taxes the government can collect.  The dirty little secret the liberal politicians and media don’t want you to know… cutting taxes actually increases tax revenue!  Can’t understand why the government would actually want to collect fewer taxes?  One word – power.  The higher the tax rate, especially on the wealthiest Americans, the greater the power in the federal government’s hands.  If we lower the tax rates across the board, we return the power back to the American citizen to make a difference in the economy.  Our people are our innovators; our people are our engines of change all the government can do is stifle our creativity and our drive.

The next President and Congress not only needs to lower taxes but they must cut spending.  These cuts must be deep and they must be permanent.  These cuts will hurt, and they will hurt everyone.  Welfare, education, the arts, transportation, commerce, defense – there can be NO SACRED COWS.  Our defense budget is the most onerous among conservatives, but honestly can we not better manage our money to fight smarter instead of spending billions on vehicles and weapons that will most likely never get used?  Social security, Medicare, and Medicaid must also go under the knife – and I would argue be eliminated completely.  Perhaps, there should be a sundown clause that allows older Americans to receive benefits but the programs are an albatross on the working Americans neck.  If we cut taxes in tandem with cutting spending we can ignite our most powerful resource of economic development… the American worker.

Lastly we must eliminate many government regulations that hinder growth.  Now, not all regulation can or should be eliminated, but certain governing bodies should but removed like dross from precious metal.  The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for example is just one egregious example of the attempt by government to overreach and control the lives of average American citizens for no reason but political gain.  Other examples of regulators who must face cuts; the Department of Energy, Department of Education, the Food and Drug Administration, and so many more.  Government regulation costs businesses and taxpayers exorbitant amounts of money, which would better be used by consumers making educated purchases.  There are examples of necessary forms of regulation, but by and large we have become a nanny state that attempts to coddle consumers when they don’t need the governments help.  Many consumers are much better educated on the products they use than the government, and government intervention only hurts the economy.

The average American citizen who works 9-5 Monday through Friday, who likes to eat out after church on Sunday and would love to have a brand new TV in their living room, is the real economic hero… we just need to give them the ability to save us all.  So, if we Republicans can unite together behind a candidate who will make extreme cuts to both taxes and spending and will support the elimination of many of these costly regulators and regulations.  Then, we American heroes just might be able to fix our economic problems while once again saving the rest of the world.  All in a day’s work, I say.

      The last half-dozen years have shown us that we can’t have both lower taxes and fatter government coffers. The Congressional Budget Office, the Treasury Department, the Joint Committee on Taxation, the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers and a former Bush administration economist all say that tax cuts lead to revenues that are lower than they otherwise would have been – even if they spur some economic growth. And federal revenues actually declined at the beginning of the 2000′s before rebounding.

      “Federal revenue is lower today than it would have been without the tax cuts,” Alan D. Viard of the conservative American Enterprise Institute told the Washington Post last October. Viard, who worked in the Treasury Department’s Office of Tax Analysis and the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers under President Bush, told FactCheck that “nobody can absolutely prove that.” Proof would require time travel and a reversal of tax policy. “But among economists, there’s no dispute.”

      What the article calls for, what it is describing, is Rick Perry. He is the one who said, “I want to make Washington as inconsequential in your lives as I can.” He has a proven record in his own state of attracting business, of creating an atmosphere for jobs, for cutting taxes and regulations…….all conservative values. He’s not flashy, not a good debater, not a polished Washitonian. He’s a farm boy, accomplished, not polished. He’s Christian and he loves his country. He served in the armed forces. He sounds better and better to me every time I compare him to the others.

      IF THEY COULD ONLY GET THE DEAD HEADS OFF THE SOCIAL SECURITY ROLLS THAT NEVER PAID INTO IT IN THE FIRST. AS A RED BLOODED AMERICAN FOR 59 YEARS, MAY 2012 WILL BE 40 YEARS THAT I HAVE PAID INTO THE SS SYSTEM AND NOW SOME TURKEY POLITICAN OR WRITER COMES ALONG AND SAYS THAT SS IS AN ENTITLEMENT AND IT SHOULD BE ABOLISHED. THESE INDIVIDUALS MUST HAVE BEEN HATCHED BECAUSE THEY CAN’T BE FROM PARENTS THAT WORKED ALL THEIR LIVES AND NOW GET ROBBED OF THEIR SS THAT IS DUE. WE PAID INTO THE SYSTEM FOR 40 YEARS AND ANYBODY THAT WANTS TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM THAT WORKING GROUP SHOULD BE HUNG. SOCIAL SECURITY FOR THE WORKERS OF AMERICA IS NOT AN “ENTITLEMENT”. IT IS AN INVESTMENT WE MADE, AND WE DESERVE OUR PAYMENTS NOW.

      FIRST LOWER TAXES CREATES MORE REVENUE (HARD FOR IDIOTS TO BELEIVE)
      SECOND CUTTING SPENDING WILL GET OUR BUDGET BACK ON TRACK (JUST LIKE YOU CAN DO TO GET CONTROL OF YOUR CREDIT CARDS.
      THIRD THE JOB CREATORS WILL HAVE A REASON AND MONEY TO HIRE MORE AMERICANS

      China currently has it’s own problems – and the United States is going to be lucky if China doesn’t start calling in it’s marks.

    • http://moses.vemma.com Richard Moses

      I wonder if any one realizes that what China may own of our debt, is far less than what China owes us for rebuilding their country after WW2.
      For that matter, the United States, following WW2, rebuilt most of Europe, the Pacific Rim Nations, and other countries, after WW2, as well as after the Korean Conflict. Plus, following the Viet Nam conflict, this country actually did send money to Ho Chi Minh, to help rebuild Viet Nam.
      Perhaps if all those other countries, which have our money and supposedly have our debt, were to pay us what THEY owe us, Obama would have more money to spend, without raising taxes, or spending us into oblivion.
      It is a thought.
      IMPEACH OBAMA NOW!!!!

      Better we INVITE our manufacturers back home. How about a reasonable tax rate? Maybe less oppressive regulations?

      Do you really believe they went overseas ‘for the fun’?

  • Nana

    After WWII our leaders thought we had to rebuild the world and so the world looks on us as a savior. All we did was cause a big mess. To use the old adage: We didn’t teach them to fish for themselves we just kept giving fish. That policy has messed up the world and America. Not only that, the American voter has been asleep too long. I thought the Constitution states that Congress shall pass all laws. When did the many agencies under the President become Congress? They don’t pass laws but they make so many regulations that it is almost impossible for the business owners to know what they can and cannot do. Let’s go back to the Constitution and make all those regulations have to be passed by Congress before they can go into effect. If it worked that way, all these requlations would get stopped in Congress (’cause they can’t get along) and business could operate and hire workers. The elected officials need to represent “We the People”

    Onan Coca are you insane? This entire article makes way too much sense, therefore, if your a libtard, this just won’t do.

    Great article. You’re right, the American citizens will have to step up to the plate. After all, aren’t the Tea Party just average, everday Americans that just want a decent job, a new TV once in a while, and just want the govt. to leave us the hell alone? Yes, yes, and yes.

    I’m not sure the “title” to this thread has anything to do with the written article.

    But then the US makes heroes out of sports dudes with too much money and no sense, often on drugs or abusing women.

    While everyone turns to the President to fix this mess – and Obama surely is much to blame for our current fiscal folly – it is CONGRESS, the House of Representatives in particular (especially when the Socialist Democrats led by the Princess were in power), and the Senate, with the Socialist Democrat Harry Reid acting as gate keeper, that is truly responsible. Obama couldn’t do what he does without their approval, complicit giving to the over spending and indebtedness.

    Our country is in the shape it’s in because Congress, Senate and House, the Executive Branch, the President and his minions, and the Supreme Court want it that way. They obviously like the tax system, or they would change it, the like spending more than they take in, or they would stop spending it, they like giving themselves raises and paying themselves even when they aren’t doing their Constitutional duty. Hero’s – where ?????

    • LCLC

      ThinMan -
      The “Real American Heroes” the author speaks of is the American consumer/worker/citizen. If you read the article the whole point is that our government should be about the business of making it easier for Average Joe American to boost our economy… and by boosting our economy, boost the world economy. So the “Average Joe American” is in the truest sense a “Real American hero” becuase he is the one fixing the worlds problems… again.

  • Winston

    America has become its own enemy by creating the Federal Reserve and the IMF (International Monetary Fund). If you do not know or understand the economics which is destroying America and the world then go research how our own nation’s leaders conspired with uber-wealthy global elites. What they created is coming back to haunt us in our lifetime. Wars were created by governments for purpose of politics and economics…but not at the same time, but all leading to create a global failure to pressure all nations to join in a one-world economy, government, society (including religion), but master control will still be by the global elites. It is a fact.

    I am not sure Ann Colter is correct, but saying that, i will vote for whom ever gets the nomination. I could still do a better job, only because I wouldn’t take any bribes, and I love my country.

    • Sahyan

      I’d vote for Abraham Lincoln over Obama, and he’s been *dead* since 1865.

  • Peter S. Chamberlain

    He who does not know history is doomed to repeat it. Remember 1964 when LBJ beat Goldwater, who I supported actively, resoundingly just by suggesting that Goldwater would, or could, abolish Social Security, and that was before Medicare and Medicaid, which not even Reagan dared propose cutting much less eliminating. Your local hospital and many doctors, nurses, etc., would be wiped out, and much of the expense of caring for older Americans, which their younger family members could not posibly afford, would wipe them out financially if Medicare and Medicaid were eliminated. As for cutting out the FDA, and other consumer and debtor protections, those of us conservatives who remember Thalidomide, and a dozen or so more recent examples that did get through to market before being found to be dangerous, useless, or both, are not reckless enough to get on board. We got the CFPB, etc., because the government let the politically connected financial sector run amok. The evidence of their abuses, and their misuse of their political power, is overwhelming. The romantic theory that big abortion backer Warren Buffett, or most wealthy people, invest in or buy from, or that the big banks make loans to, the self-employed or other real small businesses is laughable propaganda. As for those running for office or posting here who talk about deporting 23 million people, many of whom have been here for a long time, either they know that is physically and financially impossible and that they are just blowing smoke, or they are flat out delusional.

    • AZ Don

      Look who doesn’t realize the “illegal’s” will self deport if their source of income is cut off. The cities and states who provide sanctuary are the problem, they are providing the incentive to come and stay here.

      No matter what anyone says the illegal’s are a financial problem for communities as well as state and federal government. They are unquestionably draining us of resources and that must stop. Are there some who are productive in our society, of course. But they all came here illegality. Illegal is just as illegal for one as it is another, there should be no difference. As soon as we start making an exception for one there will be exceptions made for many if not all. How can we, or even should we, allow some to stay while insisting others leave. Is it fair, no. Some may ask, how can we be so inhumane as to insist a child who was brought here illegally should leave? Is it our fault that child was brought here? If we make the determination it is, or was, then they should stay, if not they should leave. The blame belongs to the one who brought them here, not us.

      I personally have nothing against Mexicans (I know all who are here illegally are not Mexican, but the majority are) but our laws must be obeyed. I also realize how difficult it must be to live in their own country and be held down by the government when by coming here they can get out of a very bad situation and improve their lifestyle. But they must come here legally.

      During the Reagan administration the problem was created. The three million or so that were here illegality were given amnesty and that started the influx of many millions more. To a point where now we have no idea, really, how many are here. However, in the bill that provided that amnesty the provision was made to close the border. But that was never done. Hence the problem we have today could have been avoided. However, this is just another very good example of how the government does things, and we are going to trust them with our healthcare? That’s stupid!

  • Apatriot

    Well think about this: In 1887, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinborough, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

    “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”

    “The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
    From bondage to spiritual faith;
    From spiritual faith to great courage;
    From courage to liberty;
    From liberty to abundance;
    From abundance to complacency;
    From complacency to apathy;
    From apathy to dependence;
    From dependence back into bondage.”

    The Obituary follows:
    Born 1776, Died 2012

    Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

    Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29

    Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000

    Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million

    Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

    Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

    Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

    Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

    If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

    Knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom..

    This is truly scary! Of course we are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic. Someone should point this out to Obama. Of course we know he and too many others pay little attention to The Constitution. There couldn’t be more at stake than on Nov 2012.

    This is exactly what Obama,Soros and the rest of the DSA group, Socialists,Commies and who ever wants us to fall as a Country. All people have to do is look around, So the question is how do WE THE PEOPLE stop it? or do we?

    • Covert1970

      We use lead and guts to put a stop to it !

    • AZ Don

      Your point is well taken. As is the professors, however, I personally think the United States of America is different, perhaps exceptional is more correct. May I remind you there has never been a country that has had a constitution like this country does, therefore, if we can maintain our constitution we can survive as a free nation. If not, we will not survive. To maintain it however we must resist, as a nation, the government’s lust for power. Only when government is restricted does freedom reign.

      There has never been a nation quite like the United States of America. Because of our constitution we are allowed to be armed. The second amendment is the glue that holds the rest of the constitution together. When we lose the right to keep and bear arms the rest of our God given rights will disappear within months not years. Make no mistake this administration intends to take away our second amendment rights. Notice I did not just say the president because Hillary Clinton along with all, or nearly, all the administration also supports confiscation of fire arms. They make no effort to hide that fact!

      If your overall effort is to convince citizens there is no reason to resist our demise, I fervently disagree with you. On the other hand however, if it is to convince citizens we must aggressively protect our liberties I’m 100% with you. Freedom is a constant fight, because there will always be those who desire power over us. Even from within our own country.

    • http://x Washington22

      Right on, AZ…………..we stand above ALL other nations because of our brilliant forefathers and the Constitution that they created for us. If the study of the constitution were taught once again in our schools, there would be a reverence for it. We have negelected our children and allowed ourselves to be run over by a crooked government.

    There are plenty of Heroes in America, today. Just look around. The decent people that “do the right thing” 100% of the time. The average hard working Joe that maintains a clean decent life. A few of my Heroes are; Bob “Mr. Cowboy” Lilly, Billy Graham, baseballs “Mr. Iron Man”, … people that set a good example. But we are listening and paying attention to those that are otherwise.

    The CFR and Bilderberg group control the media, and therefore, control which candidate is “electable.” That’s what the average voter forms their opinion on. So, you could say the process is rigged. IT IS! Why have the media given Romney a pass so far? They know conservative voters will stay home and even if he wins, it’s no big deal to the CFR and the powers behind the curtain.

    If there were any “real American Heros” left alive after 9-11 we would not be witnessing the agonizing excruciatinly horrible death of our bill of rights, the Constitution as a whole and the rule of law as it has been commonly understood for years. Marriage would still apply to men & women only, prayers would still be said in public places and the citizens of Illinois, Maryland, the District of Columbia,California, New York and Massachusettes would be proudly walking down the street armed with their favoite hand gun either proudly displayed in their Shiny leather or kydex holster or snugly tucked out ot sight and the bad guys would be wringin their hands as to commit their favorite crime or not.If there were any real American heros left: LBJ’s corpse would be rotting under the Fort leavenworth Penitentiary,Jimmy Carter would have bee tried for Treason and exicutied and his ashes mixed in with a lot of Alpo goin to the Japanees market, Richard Nixon would have been impeached, GHW BUSH would never become Head of the CIA and then POTUS, neither would little Georgey, nor Clinton and Certainly not Obama.Ron Paul would have been elected the first time he ran for POTUS, the two Party system would be fermenting on a compost heap in south west Mississippi, Gasoline would be less than two bucks a gallon. the entire middle east would have been over ran by the armuy of Stormin Normin. Islam would be a fadeing memory to only a hand ful of liberal eclectic history nerds, and communism would have gone the way of the dodo and passenger pidgeon. That is if there were any real American Patriots left alive in this country at all.

    • Patriot1776

      There are many patriots left in America. There are the thousands of young men and women serving in Afgahnistan and Iraq and our bases all over the world standing for freedom. There are all of the men and women who have served this great nation in our military for all of the past wars and those who served during our times of peace. These men and women were and are ready to give their lives to protect our liberty. There are the men and women who serve on the front lines of law enforcement, especially our border patrol who face danger every day knowing that our own government will not stand behind them.

      There are still millions who love this country and want it to be what it was and what it can be. We have our chance in November 2012 to take our stand.

    Yes! Trickle down economics! All this country needs is people who understand how the economy works. Unfortunately, I fear that no matter the party in office, unless Congress “lets go” nothing will ever change.

    Ron Paul, anyone?
