Romney Is What’s Wrong With The Republican Party

Reading Al Gore’s comments on Mitt Romney we were reminded of all of the reasons we don’t trust the man: “Good for Mitt Romney though we’ve long passed the point where weak lip-service is enough on the Climate Crisis.

While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party.

The so-called science of global warming is more media hype and Wall Street attempts to profit on trading carbon credits than it is real science. The scientific community is split on the topic with some climatologist predicting a new mini ice age. Mitt Romney’s gullibility on this issue helps us understand why he has been so wrong on most of the vital issue of the last decade.

Romney is often trumpeted by his supporters as having business experience and they love to site this record of taking Massachusetts from a three billion dollar deficit to a one billion dollar surplus. But the cost of his balanced budgets was tough on business. Peter Nicholas, founder of Boston Scientific Corporation, stated it this way: tax rates on many corporations almost doubled because of legislation supported by Romney.

Romney’s tax policies were not helpful for many small businesses when Romney took many IRS subchapter S businesses in Massachusetts and almost doubled their tax rates; it was an important disincentive to investment, growth and job creation.

The Cato Institute reports as Governor, Romney proposed $140 million in business tax hikes through the closing of loopholes in the tax code. This led to Joseph Crosby of the Council on State Taxation to say, Romney went further than any other governor in trying to wring money out of corporations.

Romney raised taxes on business by a total of $309 million. He increased taxes on business property. He then tried to raise taxes on hotels, but was stopped by the Democrat legislature. Romney at the time joined a coalition lobbying congress to tax internet activity, and he even supported a tax on out of state commuters.

Romney refused to support the Bush tax cuts while governor, and when campaigning for Governor, refused to sign the no new taxes pledge, calling it government by gimmickry.

Now he wants us to believe he is a born again tax fighter.

But it is on the social issues that we get real heart burn. As star conservative researcher Steve Baldwin has pointed out: Romney changed his position on over thirty key issues as he prepared to run for President four years ago. Many of his conversion experiences are on issues we believe to be vital to the wellbeing of America’s families.

As Governor Romney did great damage by unilaterally ordering homosexual marriage be instituted in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Constitution clearly prohibits the judicial branch from specifically changing marriage statutes so when the court issued the Goodridge opinion favoring homosexual marriage, all Romney had to do was to declare the court had no jurisdiction and ignore it. Instead Romney asserted the opinion was now the law and ordered town clerks and Justices of the Peace to marry homosexuals, even though the legislature never acted to codify the ruling.

But the reason we will never support him for President is an action he took in 2005. Governor Romney personally issued special Governor’s one-day marriage licenses to 189 same-sex couples, including to a homosexual activist state senator and others of his personal friends in the homosexual community.

We believe he can call a homosexual union whatever he wants, but it will never be a marriage. Marriage is the union of one man with one woman ordained by God for the purpose of creating a family. Even a President Romney can’t trump God and God’s nature. Let’s hope Republican primary voters are smart enough to never let it come to that possibility.

COWARDLY BRITISH COPS COVER UP MUSLIM CRIME

    By Selwyn Duke
    June 20, 2011
    NewsWithViews

Much like a caterpillar, the West grows more self-destructive with age. And the moth it has become cannot resist being drawn toward the flame of liberalism. This results in continual forays into the heat of cultural indifference, and a recent example is the British police’s refusal to pursue Muslim criminals for fear of being labeled bigots. The Telegraphreports on the story, writing that it has “uncovered more than a dozen…cases in [the London Borough of] Tower Hamlets where both Muslims and non-Muslims have been threatened or beaten for behaviour deemed to breach fundamentalist ‘Islamic norms.’”

As an example, a Muslim man named Mohammed Monzur Rahman was found smoking during Ramadan and was beaten so severely that he required hospitalization. The police said that they “couldn’t track anyone down and there were no witnesses,” said local anti-extremism campaigner Ansar Ahmed Ullah, despite the fact that there are CCTV cameras on the street on which the incident took place.

Providing more examples of this Muslim criminality, R. Cort Kirkwood of The New American writes:

School teachers told the Telegraph that Muslims are trying to enforce the adoption of the Muslim veil for girls in schools. Parents and students, they said, harass them with “constant verbal aggression.”

Muslims forced a teacher out of his job at an elementary school, the paper reported, “for complaining that Muslim pupils were engaging in racist and anti-Semitic bullying and saying they supported terrorism.”

Beyond the teacher whom Muslims nearly murdered last year for teaching about faiths other than Islam, others [sic] teachers have felt the sting of Mohammed’s lash as well…

To expand upon the veil movement, here is what The Telegraph reports:

Teachers in several local schools have told The Sunday Telegraph that they feel “under pressure” from local Muslim extremists, who have mounted campaigns through both parents and pupils – and, in one case, through another teacher – to enforce the compulsory wearing of the veil for Muslim girls. “It was totally orchestrated,” said one teacher. “The atmosphere became extremely unpleasant for a while, with constant verbal aggression from both the children and some parents against the head over this issue.”
Of course, though, these are just, as Barack Obama might say, “typical white people,” so it’s not hard for the politically correct set to ignore them. But the atypical ones are a different matter. That is to say, Muslims are also targeting British homosexuals, which should present the powers-that-be with a dilemma: Do they side with the homosexuals in the name of eliminating “hate crimes” or with Muslims in the name of affirmative action applied to accountability?

Thus far, the sword of Allah has trumped the gay blade. WritesThe Telegraph:

Last year, a mob of 30 young Muslims stormed a local [homosexual] pub, the George and Dragon, beating and abusing patrons. Many customers of the pub told The Sunday Telegraph that they have been attacked and harassed by local Muslim youths. In 2008 a 20-year-old student, Oli Hemsley, was left permanently paralysed after an attack by a group of young Muslims outside the pub. Only one of his assailants has been caught and jailed.
There is an interesting irony here, too. Some homosexuals say that they’re now afraid to complain about Muslim oppression too vociferously for fear of being labeled bigots. Talk about being hoisted on your own politically correct petards.

    • Joy

Great Britain has lost itself in becoming too politically correct. They have already lost the war on Muslim aggression and terror.
So has France and most of Western Europe. What the Muslims couldn’t take in the Middle Ages by force they are taking by politics and Western guilt.

        I agree 100%.

do good to them that hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use

Yeah, well look whos next, America wake up.

  • a constitutionalist

I am pleased to see so many seeing through the bullshirt, smoke and mirrors that are supporting and pushing this RINO Romney down our throats yet again. He is a beltway darling and favorite of the traitorous MSM.
This man id NO conservative and as far as I’m concerned could be Oblah blah’s brother as far as policy is concerned.I fully agree with a previous poster that we have had far too many career politicians that are all too welcome on the beltway. Is Romney really going to alter and improve the way OUR business is done in Washington.I sincerely don’t think so. Although the field for Republicans is growing there are far too few true Republicans ( conservatives ) in the group. Perry is not the great hope the media is portraying. Santorum also is not a conservative.Ron Paul is ….well Ron Paul..that should speak for itself. Cain, although I like him has a few liabilities that will stop him before he gets much further. Mainly his mouth, this gets him into trouble, whilke I’m sure he could do a much better ( and sincerely )job than the poser presently there he is unelecable. Michele Bachmann is highly intelligent, well informed and has tremendous support but I’m unsure the voters are going to take “another” chance on change as her biggest liability is she is a female. Before anyone calls me names, I would vote for her but I believe it would be a wasted vote as that “change” may be way too soon for most voters.

  • Joy

What we need is a republican candidate that has a PLAN. someone who has gone to CEO’s, buisness leaders and eceonomists who were NOT educated at Harvard / Yale/ Berkely/ Standford Business schools (we have oone of those loosers already sitting in the White House)and who listened to what they said about turning the economy back around. Do we need the Reagan 4 Point Recovery Plan? Bring it on!! Do we need to go into austerity mode, cut entitlement programs and become energy independent by drilling our own oil and natural gas??? Bring it on!! But someone needs to make a PLAN!! Even if its a mediocrity, its still better than the ridicoulous nonsense spewing out of the White House and Senate these days!!! I want to hear from a candidate with a PLAN!!!!!!

    • a constitutionalist

I’m with you Joy, a great point ! Energy independence would be a super start that would also stimulate our economy in an unbelieveable way. But a sensible plan that is also workable is an absolute mandate !

      • Joy

all a candidate would have to do is make Reagan’s 4 Point recovery the base of their campaign and I think even McCain would have beaten Obama in a landslide. But whoever the Republican nominee is, they had better plan on fighting dirty in this election. Nice words aren’t going to derail the Obama/ Chicago political machine. The time for playing golf with the enemy is over: if republicans want to rescue America, its time to put up or shut up!!!!

        • The Enemy

Boehner’s playing golf with the imposter-in-chief is like the hen playing with the fox. That foolish stunt on Boehner’s behalf further reduced my confidence in his ability to carry the fight to the Marxist enemies!

This crap of “getting-along” has to be scrapped! WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST THE MARXISTS IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION FOR THE VERY SURVIVAL OF AMERICA! This is not the time for pussy-footing around. This is time for POLITICAL WARFARE!

          • Dennis

I’m with you on that, but Borhner is a coward, a spinless puzzy, he never had plans to fight Obsama, fuk that RINO trask, he needs to go to, we need Men in the white house, not fagget puzzies.

    • http://patriotupdate SICK & TIRED#1

      HERMAN CAIN!!!

  • chuck

Any Republican endorsed by Al Gore has already lost.
It’s the same dumass card they played with McCain.
This election is The Establishment vs the Tea Party.

  • polishsniper

The media is picking your candidate again like they did when they picked McCain. Ron Paul,Gingrich and Romney should go to Pelosi’s house and play checkers and talk about global warming.

    • The Enemy

polishsniper: How encouraging it is to see you are another person who “gets it”. You are correct that the liberal media “pushed” John McCain into the nomination and they are in a repeat mode this time by trying to push another RINO like Romney into the nomination. Good observation! And right-on! I hope more people wake-up to the truth of what you said. Generally speaking, whomever the Marxist media is supporting should be dropped like a hot potato.

      • a constitutionalist

        Ditto…..pass the word !

  • http://ThePatriotUpdate Atch

I would like to vote for General Paul Vallely. Check “Stand Up America” and find out exactly who he is. He has written many anti Obama articles.

  • Southern Son

As it has been stated before by several different people, there is no “perfect” candidate. If you look you can find “dirt” on all of them. The focus should be on the one thing and one thing only, get this “enemy of the people and country” out of the White House. We , as Americans, can not let this imposter continue to tear down this country as he has done. I will vote for whoever wins the Republican primary just to “free” us from this huge mistake .

    • The Enemy

Southern Son: I beg to differ, Sir. Not EVERY politician is “dirty”. The despicable media has been trying feverishly and insanely to trash Sarah Palin with no success. Similarly, Michelle Bachmann is “clean”. And, as far as we can tell so-far, the potential candidates Rick Perry and Allen West are “clean”.

  • Concerned from USA

Romney is being nudged (as Glen says) from George H.W. Bush and we don’t need anymore of George H.W. Bush’s input in the politics of this United States of America. He is behind a cesspool evil….do your homework…. check him out. Do everything in your power to outst Romney we need somebody that will truly answer only to “WE THE PEOPLE” not some puppet with their own agenda. I am really impressed w/ Perry/Bachman ticket Lets go Tea Partiers and force these rats out of office whether they be REPUB or Decommies

    • Dennis

I notice you didn’t say anything about the son of satin, Obsama, Bush is an angle in comparison. He made his share of mistakes, but good lord son, look at what Obsama has done to this country.

  • Dr. Real

Romney is not the answer…he is same ol’, same ‘ol. His successes are cloudy at best, he shows no solid committment to any philosophy, and worst of all is too much of a good old boy. We need a LEADER.

  • The Enemy

Romney is definitely NOT the right choice for the GOP candidate! I guess that’s why he is leading in the polls! The GOP always manages to shoot itself in the foot these days! Just at look at the goof they ran against Obama last time! Now they apparently want another RINO candidate.

Must they keep nominating the undesirables? Can’t they graduate into nominating a true conservative? Apparently not.

    What has America become????

Has America become the land of special interest and home of the
double standard? Let’s see: If we lie to the Congress, it’s a felony
and if Congress lies to us it’s just politics. If we dislike a black person,
we’re a racist and if a black dislikes whites, it’s their 1st Amendment
right. The government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and
they do almost nothing for the victims. In public schools you can teach
that homosexuality and lesbianism is ok, but you better not use the
word God in the process. You can murder a child in the mothers womb,
but it’s wrong to execute a mass murderer. We don’t burn books in
America, we now rewrite them. We got rid of the communist & socialist
threat by renaming them progressives. If you protest against Obama’s
policies you’re a terrorist, but if you burn an American flag or George
Bush in effigy, it’s your 1st Amendment right.

You can have pornography on TV or the internet, but you better not
put a nativity scene in a public park during Christmas. In America,
criminals are now called sick people. The government takes money
from those who work hard & gives it to those who are lazy. Parenting
has been replaced with Ritalin & video games. The land of opportunity
is now the land of hand outs.

And how do we handle a major crisis today? The Government
appoints a committee to determine who’s at fault, then threatens
them, passes a law, raises our taxes, then tells us the problem is
solved so they can get back to their reelection campaign.
