Romney Is What’s Wrong With The Republican Party

Reading Al Gore’s comments on Mitt Romney we were reminded of all of the reasons we don’t trust the man: “Good for Mitt Romney though we’ve long passed the point where weak lip-service is enough on the Climate Crisis.

While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party.

The so-called science of global warming is more media hype and Wall Street attempts to profit on trading carbon credits than it is real science. The scientific community is split on the topic with some climatologist predicting a new mini ice age. Mitt Romney’s gullibility on this issue helps us understand why he has been so wrong on most of the vital issue of the last decade.

Romney is often trumpeted by his supporters as having business experience and they love to site this record of taking Massachusetts from a three billion dollar deficit to a one billion dollar surplus. But the cost of his balanced budgets was tough on business. Peter Nicholas, founder of Boston Scientific Corporation, stated it this way: tax rates on many corporations almost doubled because of legislation supported by Romney.

Romney’s tax policies were not helpful for many small businesses when Romney took many IRS subchapter S businesses in Massachusetts and almost doubled their tax rates; it was an important disincentive to investment, growth and job creation.

The Cato Institute reports as Governor, Romney proposed $140 million in business tax hikes through the closing of loopholes in the tax code. This led to Joseph Crosby of the Council on State Taxation to say, Romney went further than any other governor in trying to wring money out of corporations.

Romney raised taxes on business by a total of $309 million. He increased taxes on business property. He then tried to raise taxes on hotels, but was stopped by the Democrat legislature. Romney at the time joined a coalition lobbying congress to tax internet activity, and he even supported a tax on out of state commuters.

Romney refused to support the Bush tax cuts while governor, and when campaigning for Governor, refused to sign the no new taxes pledge, calling it government by gimmickry.

Now he wants us to believe he is a born again tax fighter.

But it is on the social issues that we get real heart burn. As star conservative researcher Steve Baldwin has pointed out: Romney changed his position on over thirty key issues as he prepared to run for President four years ago. Many of his conversion experiences are on issues we believe to be vital to the wellbeing of America’s families.

As Governor Romney did great damage by unilaterally ordering homosexual marriage be instituted in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Constitution clearly prohibits the judicial branch from specifically changing marriage statutes so when the court issued the Goodridge opinion favoring homosexual marriage, all Romney had to do was to declare the court had no jurisdiction and ignore it. Instead Romney asserted the opinion was now the law and ordered town clerks and Justices of the Peace to marry homosexuals, even though the legislature never acted to codify the ruling.

But the reason we will never support him for President is an action he took in 2005. Governor Romney personally issued special Governor’s one-day marriage licenses to 189 same-sex couples, including to a homosexual activist state senator and others of his personal friends in the homosexual community.

We believe he can call a homosexual union whatever he wants, but it will never be a marriage. Marriage is the union of one man with one woman ordained by God for the purpose of creating a family. Even a President Romney can’t trump God and God’s nature. Let’s hope Republican primary voters are smart enough to never let it come to that possibility.

What is wrong with somet ticket like Perry/Paul? Works for me, whereas a go-along Romneyite or lunatics like Trump or that squirrel-toasting moralist Hucksterbee do, most assuredly, NOT!

I WILL throw one more red-meat bomb out here—I am, as far as I can tell, a prenatal conservative Republican. From that 66-year perspective, these “social conservative”, hyper-religious “Republicans” are NEW on the bus. I think running the religious/anti-abortion litmus test constantly is what is causing many good people to stay out of conservative politics. Republicans used to be (when not flirting with Progressivism) a true conservative bedrock for the nation: constitutionalism, military strength, true Federalism, low-taxes-small, unobtrusive-government types. Then along comes a herd of Bible-thumpers, proselytizing and preaching and shifts the GOP into a less-attractive stance. I’m reminded of a friend who suddenly realized exactly what segment of our population was undergoing the vast majority of abortions. She came to her senses and said that it was “better to be unborn than to be raised in a drug-and-crime “family” hell-hole and spending the balance of one’s adult years in prison”.

We GOPers do indeed need to wake up. Leave the Bible at home, accept that others’ lifestyles are others’ own business—unless they break existing laws. Atheists, agnostics and that ilk (I belong) do NOT try and punish others for their beliefs—we just don’t partake in anything but political and economic venues. Take a good long look at the incredible irony of the Puritans and Separatists and how THEY treated others who did not cleave to their religious philosophy. In short, I am tired of seeing perfectly good candidates put through the Christian zealots’ wringer.

As far as AIPAC and Israel go—-let them fight their own freakin’ wars. I was a naval officer in the 1960′s and I know where Israel’s priorities lie, v.a.v. the US. We should bail out of the Middle East, buy the oil (better yet, extract our own) and defend out own border. I say border, because my Bruins took care of any carniverous threat posed by Canadians!!!

We need red-blooded, even militarily “blooded”, strong fiscal and nationalist leaders, and our GOP community has ‘em by the train-loads. Let’s separate church from state, bail out of someone else’s wars, bring the troops home, man the Mexcrement border and shut the social-welfare machine down, implant a MAXIMUM 10% FLAT—repeat–FLAT tax and get on with business. Drop all this communistic* PC sissy crap and tell the liberals to STFU or move to Cuba and Venezuela, where they belong.

*Google PC—it started with CPUSA in the 1930′s.

First I’d like to say that I would like a candidate with your beliefs. With that said, I’d suggest to check Perry out a little closer as I’ve read reports from some Texans that speak of his “liberal/progressive leanings” specifically his relationship with the Bildergerg Group and his unwavering support of the proposed MexiAmericanada highway. Several Texans have voiced their complete and adament rejection of this man. I haven’t completed my investigation of this man yet so I suggest you check him out for yourself as I do not want anyone to accept my word blindly on anything so important.

I want a candiate that, bleeds the Constitution and what our Fore Fathers established. I am “OVER” the Democrats and Rebublicans that are loving their POWER! Mitt Romney is not my canidate as he is a RINO! There are others more qualified, HOPE AND CHANGE IS A JOKE…..GOING TOWARD SOCIALISM AND THAT IS NOT WHAT AMERICA IS!

We The People, need to remove all RINOS, DINOS, 1 PINO and 1 VPINO from office, wait, and some of them supreme court judges to.

It is obvious that the authors of this article have an intense dislike for Romney. But, I would far prefer him to Obama.
As a devoted Republican, leaning toward Libertarian, I have not yet decided, but, tentatively prefer Pawlenty.
Romney’s problem in Massachusetts was that he somehow got elected in a heavily-Democrat state. Thus, to maintain support of the public, he had to advocate for policies which were more liberal than conservative (witness the health care law).
Bottom line, I will vote for Romney if he wins the Republican nomination, but, at this point, am hoping that a better alternative comes to the top (Perry maybe?).

This Floyd Brown is has absolutly no idea what he is talking about. Like a earlier post read. “you can’t believe even half of what you hear” and even much much less of what you read specially from this, journalist??? He peeks with FORKED TOUNG —.

  • JIm

Greyhawk and Raymond have said it all. I’ve lived in MA for 36 years. Romney is just as described..a flip-flopping RINO whose position on anything changes as needed. He’s another McPain(who is no war hero…lived in Hanoi as a guest at a private apt., gave the NV all air attack routes causing a 60% increaase in downed/lost aircraft and whose CO wanted to try him for treason, but Daddy,Adm. McCain,CIC of all Pacific, stopped it). FYI the Mormon church is owned by the Illuminati/Rothchilds.
WATCHOUT for Perry, he is another Romney.
    I’ll go for Ventura,Cain Rubio,Palin,Christie
West, De Mint. I don’t want another turncoat like Scott Brown Kennedy!

Here we go again — getting away from the real issues and focusing on a candidates religious ideology. Who care if he is Mormom or Muslim. Or his position on abortion. Time we ditch that issue too. Who cares. Lets focus on the real issue — the economy.

Romney is a liar. Thats it. He doesn’t deserve to be in the Rep.race. He is setting us up. Obama at least told the truth by not promising anything except change. We got that. Romney has no credibility because he supports both sides of an issue.

          • Dogswife1969

I don’t see anyone on here bashing Pelosi’s catholism. Is anyone on here saying anything akin to what’s being bandied about here towards the church Obama went to before being elected? NO! The mormons my friends tend to be a very conservative group of people. You are trashing and branding a group of people because they believe differently than you religiously. These are some of the folks who will stand next to you in combat, or have your back in hard times; will you do the same for them or will you not because you don’t like their religion? I thought that freedom of religion was part of what conservatives fight for. The folks on the left are the ones who I thought wanted to control the thoughts and ideas of others. I thought for a second I was in the right group of people but I can see now that I’m not. Friends: I hope to never see the day when any peaceful religion is scorned and deemed unacceptable. Your religion may be next. If you have questions about the mormons or their beliefs, why don’t you ask them or attend a church. Don’t sit on here with your vitriol, trashing fellow patriots and citizens of this country because you don’t like their religion. I AM A MORMON AND PROUD OF IT! I don’t like nor will I vote for Romney. His religion has no bearing on my decision. His ethics and past legislative actions are what command my decision. I also will not base my voting decision on the SPECIFIC religion of other candidates, mormon or not. I’m more interested in whether these folks believe in allowing me to have freedom to choose my religion or whether they want me to look to the government rather than a god in heaven. When freedom of religion is taken from me, I will have no other freedoms and neither will you!

          • CarolTex

Butch……….And you know for certain that the Mormon God is not the God of the Bible? How? From all that I have read and learned about the Mormon Church, they are not only believers in God (Jehovah), but are also very devout Christians. You should be ashamed of yourself for spouting off about something of which you clearly know nothing. I believe that is called Biggotry.

Balderdash and poppy cock, Romney is a good man. I’ve lived in Massachusettts 35 years, and we have never had such a wonderful governor. His healthcare bill was only 70 pages and affected few of i any major way, in contrast to the 2000 page crap sandwich which is Obozocare, which affects everyone, and inncludes rationing and death panels to boot. During the ’08 campaign for GOP nomination, Romney was the only one conservative enough to earn Tom Tancredo’s endorsement when Tom dropped out of the race. Hardly a liberal. McCain on the other hand WAS/IS a RINO and he and Huckabee disrespected Romney just as you snide people have. Grow up and smell the coffee: Romney is the most likely to win over Obama in the 2012 election. Stop shooting yourselves in the foot.

          • Fenderman52

File the Mormon Bible under “FICTION.” Jesse Ventura said if Ron Paul dumps the Republican Party he’d join up with him. Now THAT I’d like to see!

My bigotry says that Mormonism is a false doctrine. It is preying on those who tend toward religion, but are fundamentally and scripturally uninformed.

        • SONshine Man

John, you are so ignorant! It’s NOT “the economy STUPID”! It’s CHARACTER that matters. And that means what someone personally BELIEVES IN. If you support abortion, then don’t you DARE claim to support the US Constitution that promotes “life” along with “liberty”. And guess what? Without LIFE, you have no liberty! You go ahead and promote this whole culture of death that no longer holds life as sacred and therefore of great value. You go ahead and be stupid and gullible enough to believe in the lie that the economy takes precedence over the MORAL issues like abortion or what religion a candidate is part of. I’ve got news for you, bud. What you believe affects how you LIVE.

          Why do you think there’s so much corruption in our government now? It’s because those in elected office don’t have the absolute truth of God ruling in their hearts where it counts. Things like, “Thou shalt not steal”;
“Thou shalt not bear false witness”; and
“Thou shalt not commit adultery” have no bearing on these politicians’ thinking because they live by, “If it feels good, do it!” and “What’s in it for me?” That’s why they have no problem with lying, deception, stealing, extortion, adultery, fornication, sodomy, child molestation, etc.

You go ahead and believe that “the economy” is the main issue, and I’ll tell you what: when those who believe abortion is OK (which is MURDER, by the way) end up coming to YOUR door because they then deem YOU as being “worthless” as well, then think back to how YOU supported their devaluing of life and tried to justify sin. That is the natural outcome of supporting ANY form of devaluing of God’s gift of life. You go from the unborn to those with Down’s Syndrome to the elderly with Alzheimer’s, and on and on and on. Where does it end?

This has very much to do with one’s personal religious beliefs. Hitler’s religion was one of superiority (his own “God trip”) which, in HIS mind have him license to murder 25 MILLION people, including 6 MILLION jews. Stalin’s and Mao’s “atheism” (which is a religion) caused them to justify the slaughter of some 125 MILLION of their own people collectively who wouldn’t adhere to their religion of COMMUNISM. The same principle applies with the Popes who murdered hundreds of millions, and now the muslims who are slaightering millions of Christians in all Islamic dominated countries.

So please, save your wacked-out, irrational, illogical “reasoning” and come to grips with the reality that it is the MORAL AND SPIRITUAL issues that are the “bottom line” for America and the world! The main reason “the economy” is so bad in America is because we have made money, wealth, and prosperity one of our major IDOLS (false gods). We are under the judgment of almighty God, and unless we REPENT as a nation and turn to Jesus Christ, we will be destroyed by him!

One last thing: RON PAUL 2012! Support anyone else and you’ll have 4 more years of the “Obama-nation”, gauranteed!

          • Rolf

You were right on everything said until the last RON PAUL! He has about as much chance being Pres as a nowball in hell.We want to win this time and get rid of the kid occupeing the white house.

          • Bcorp

Ron Paul? Huh? He believes in do what you want, sex, abortion, drugs for the government to get out of the way. Duh? Get a clue as to what your support. Not my opinion, but his words during the debate. Did you not listen?

          • Dan Talbot

Ron Paul? Are you nutz? He is Cindy Sheehan in drag when it comes to defense.

          • SONshine Man

You people are obviously ignorant of what our US Constitution says. Ron Paul makes it clear: he wants the Federal Government OUT of our lives completely. If you believe a “central government” should be in control at all, then move to China or Saudi Arabia, or (if it were possible) time travel back to 1930′s Germany or Stalinist Russia. All have “central federal governments” and when that is in control, you end up with TYRANNY, which, by the way, is what we are NOW in the early stages of here in America. Why do you think our Revolutionary War happened? Are you
so naive or just plain stupid? Do you not see that we are heading right back to what our founding fathers fought AGAINST? And it is due to the failings of BOTH parties?

Ron Paul may be running as a “Republican”; but make no mistake, he really does NOT fit in with the “GOP” and their “war on terror” expansion of BIG GOVERNMENT and their INVASION of foreign nations to profit the arms producers and the oil industry, as well as Big Corporations like GE, GM, AIG, Goldman Sachs, and the 6 major BANKS! No! What Ron Paul stans for is what our founding fathers did, and that is “States Rights”, the 9th and 10th Amendments.

Go back in this nation’s history, study what they worked so hard to establish. They established a situation where not only did the States have power over the Feds (and that was to never change), but EACH INDIVIDUAL had power over the states. They’re known as “sovereign citizens”. If you believe that the government should
“regulate and control” everything, including and especially moral issues, then you show how ignorant and uninformed you are and you should NOT call yourself an “AMERICAN”.

The founders of the United States of America understood that the purpose for government is to “punish evil” and “praise doing well” (Romans 13:1-5). It is NOT to provide for ANY of our needs; NOR is it to tell ANY of us how our personal lives should be conducted. That is the entire spirit and emphasis of the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments to the Constitution). That doesn’t mean lawlessness. There is included in those freedoms the idea of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, and with that, treating your fellow man with justice, honesty, and integrity. That is why there are laws against murder, theft, bribery, extortion, lying, etc. We used to have laws in every state against sex crimes where the death penalty was applicable, but thanks to the “work” of ALFRED KINSEY and his globalist “backers” (like the Rockefellers), that is all gone. But I again emphasize, it was THE STATES that enforced this, not the FEDS!

You wonder why we have this monster called the “Federal Government” that is now sticking their hands down our pants in airports (and soon bus and train stations as well); tracking ALL of us with “red light cameras” and RFID chips; engineering and carrying out “terrorist attacks” against us while blaming it on our “enemies” (just like Hitler did); forcing us all to pay into
“Social Security” which is a ploy to pay the interest on the “debt” we owe the criminal Bankster Cartel that runs the Federal Reserve and the IRS; taking veterans pensions to “help pay down the debt”; giving “bail outs” to off-shore banks; invading nations that have no “WMD’s” in the name of the fake “war on terror” and wholesale slaughtering of innocent UNARMED men, women, and children in those nations, raping and molesting MANY of them before brutally torturing and murdering them; allowing congress to vote themselves RAISES, plus get THE SAME OR BETTER in “pension” after they leave office every year for the rest of their lives; won’t close our borders, allows MILLIONS of illegals to be here, but “fights terrorism” abroad; illegally spies on the American public through eaves dropping, warrantless wire tapping, etc through their “Patriot Act” and “Homeland Security” (which was set up for YOU AND ME all along!); has our military conduct “check points” on roadways all over America contrary to the 1878 “Posse Comintatus” law that forbids military “law enforcement” because only DICTATORSHIPS do so; makes us all “take off your shoes, belts, etc.” when you enter any government building because we’re SLAVES and “USELESS FEEDERS” rather than CITIZENS to them; continues to RAISE taxes and INCREASE the “debt ceiling” while they SPEND! SPEND! SPEND! our money; etc. etc. etc.

So, when are you gonna get FED up and finally have had enough? If you want “more of the same”, support anyone BUT Ron Paul. Some of you “sheeple” are so stupid, you fail to understand how politics in America works. We have a ONE party system with TWO “factions” that put on a better show than the WWE for PUBLIC CONSUMPTION. They “fight with each other” ON camera, but behind the scenes, like an old “Who” song says: “Meet the new boss; same as the old boss”. That’s what you get from this “two party” system. People got sick of Bush Sr., they “elected” Clinton. He did his time, bring in George W. Bush; then Obama. It never ends. What you people fail to see is that these PUPPETS all work for the same
“string pullers” called the NEW WORLD ORDER.

That’s why they attack Ron Paul through Faux (Fox) News. They slander and misrepresent him, going so far as to misreport this year’s CPAC meeting where Ron Paul won BIG TIME (just like last year). Yet, what does Faux News do? They play LAST YEAR’S coverage, where they placed a microphone in the ROMNEY crowd who was “booing” Ron Paul even though the REST of the crowd overwhelmingly cheered him. THIS year, they couldn’t pull that, so instead of showing how pretty much EVERYONE was cheering for Ron Paul, they simply “mistakenly” showed LAST YEAR’S footage! How CON-venient! How deceptive. That’s because the globalist run media KNOWS that the momentum is with RON PAUL, because his message of LIBERTY and TRULY CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT appeals to so many!

It is time for all you SHEEPLE to wake up, quit supporting all the Neo-Con (Fake Conservative) “candidates” and get on board with supporting the only truly conservative Presidential candidate: RON PAUL 2012! You support anyone else, you WILL have 4 more years of the “Obama-nation”. Guaranteed! “Doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell”? Keep dreaming! You vote for anyone OTHER than Ron Paul, you WILL be “wasting your vote”. Ron Paul is a man of GOOD CHARACTER, OF INTEGRITY, HONESTY, AND HONOUR! He’s not a “politician” but a STATESMAN! That is what we need in the White House, AND in the House and Senate and the Supreme Court, as well as ALL State and Local governments!

The Mormon Church is as cultic as you can get and I am suspicious of any man, woman or child who can believe such silly heresies. Romney is not qualified to be President because he has made terribly bad decisions in his personal and religious life.

          • SONshine Man

Carol, what? You’ve never heard of Roman Catholicism? Almost one BILLION adherents world wide. They are the largest cult in history. And since when do sheer numbers determine whether something is true or false? Like someone else wrote in response to you, Islam has one BILLON adherents world wide. Based on your “logic” then, Mohammed’s blind followers are nothing but good, godly people despite all their oppression and emslavement of women as sex slaves and their murder of all who disagree with them. No, it isn’t QUANTITY but QUALITY that counts when it comes to religion. It is the true followers of Jesus Christ who are in the minority (meaning those who are “born again” and adhere strictly to what the Bible says). Yet, we know that WE ALONE have the absolute truth that makes people “free indeed” (John 8:31&32) because Jesus Christ is the ONLY way of salvation and his word is inerrent, infallble, inspired, and perfectly preserved!

        • SONshine Man

Amen Scott! You are 100% right! Mormonism is one of the most deceptive religions ever because they claim “Jesus” in their belief system, just like Catholicism. They claim to be “Christian” but they add to God’s word with their “Book of Mormon”, “Doctrines and Covenants”, and “Pearl of Great Price” books. We who are saved by Jesus Christ take THE BIBLE ALONE (King James Version) as our ONLY rule of life and religious practice.
The Jesus of the Bible is LORD, and that means GOD. In Moromonism, the adherents believe they can “become a god”, which is Satan’s original lie to the human race: “ye shall be as gods” (Genesis 3:5). Mormonism is a LIE from Satan just like Islam and Catholicism and Buddhism and Hinduism and the New Age movement and the whole “New World Order” that is working towards WORLD GOVERNMENT! One last thing: RON PAUL 2012!

“Hello LINDA! So, I take it that YOU are a ‘MORON’, excuse me, a ‘MORMON’ of a ‘deceitful, decrepit and ANTI-CHRISTIAN group?! You PROFESS CHRISTIANITY, but NONE OF YOU, practice what you PREACH. Read the Holy Bible, the KING JAMES version of 1611, and then tell EVERYBODY about CHRISTIANITY! WE, human beings, should be more GRATEFUL to “OUR LOVING FATHER ‘GOD’ IN HEAVEN” for creating us and EVERYTHING ELSE that HE has provided for us! You know the book I mean LINDA, it starts out like this: “In the beginning GOD, created the heavens and the earth. No if’s, and’s or BUT’S about it”!!

King James (first of England, 5th of Scotland) was a practicing homosexual. How could they have named a Bible version after him. He was directly responsible for me being born an American because he sold my Scottish ancestors as slaves to the New World. And yes, I know what I’m talking about. I have our family history dating back to the 1400′s

          • SONshine Man

Carol, you are so deceived. King James was NOT “a practicing homosexual” and it was “Bloody Mary” (Mary, queen of Scots) that was responsible for your ancestry. You have your history all wrong. James was a very godly king who ruled for the Lord and that is why he is attacked with the lies and slander like what you put here. Get your history straight! The King James Version is the ONLY version in English that is 100% in line with the inspired text. Your “Book of Mormon” is nothing but a Satanic counterfeit, and as a matter of fact, I have read documentation where hand writing experts have exposed Joseph Smith’s FRAUD for plagerizing the work of an earlier heretic (about 25 years prior) who actually wrote what Joseph Smith claims he “received from God” in those “golden plates” and published in his “Book of Mormon”. The so-called “reformed Egyptian” language Joseph Smith claims those golden plates were written in has been debunked by language experts who have testified that there is NO SUCH LANGUAGE OR DIALECT! You attack what is absolute truth while supporting what is proven a satanic deception and fraud. Typically deceived! Just like your “prophet” Joseph Smith and his political disciple, Mitt Romney! Aside from his religious beliefs, Romney’s fraud is so obvious as his “Romney Care” was THE BLUPRINT for OBAMACARE! Romney attempts to excuse this in the last debate stating that HIS plan is better because it “only applies to one state, not the whole country”. GIVE ME A BREAK!

            ………………………………………………………………..
QUESTION: Is King James a homosexual?

            ANSWER: No.

EXPLANATION: King James I of England, who authorized the translation of the now famous King James Bible, was considered by many to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, monarchs that England has ever seen.
Through his wisdom and determination he united the warring tribes of Scotland into a unified nation, and then joined England and Scotland to form the foundation for what is now known as the British Empire.

At a time when only the churches of England possessed the Bible in English, King James’ desire was that the common people should have the Bible in their native tongue. Thus, in 1603, King James called 54 of history’s most learned men together to accomplish this great task. At a time when the leaders of the world wished to keep their subjects in spiritual ignorance, King James offered his subjects the greatest gift that he could give them. Their own copy of the Word of God in English.

James, who was fluent in Latin, Greek, and French, and schooled in Italian and Spanish even wrote a tract entitled “Counterblast to Tobacco”,which was written to help thwart the use of tobacco in England.

Such a man was sure to have enemies. One such man, Anthony Weldon, had to be excluded from the court. Weldon swore vengeance. It was not until 1650, twenty-five years after the death of James that Weldon saw his chance. He wrote a paper calling James a homosexual. Obviously, James, being dead, was in no condition to defend himself.

The report was largely ignored since there were still enough people alive who knew it wasn’t true. In fact, it lay dormant for years, until recently when it was picked up by Christians who hoped that vilifying King James, would tarnish the Bible that bears his name so that Christians would turn away from God’s book to a more “modern” translation.

It seems though, that Weldon’s false account is being once again largely ignored by the majority of Christianity with the exception of those with an ulterior motive, such as its author had.
It might also be mentioned here that the Roman Catholic Church was so desperate to keep the true Bible out of the hands of the English people that it attempted to kill King James and all of Parliament in 1605.

In 1605 a Roman Catholic by the name of Guy Fawkes, under the direction of a Jesuit priest by the name of Henry Garnet, was found in the basement of Parliament with thirty-six barrels of gunpowder which he was to use to blow up King James and the entire Parliament. After killing the king, they planned on imprisoning his children, re-establishing England as a state loyal to the Pope and kill all who resisted. Needless to say, the perfect English Bible would have been one of the plot’s victims. Fawkes and Garnet and eight other conspirators were caught and hanged.
It seems that those who work so hard to discredit the character of King James join an unholy lot.

        • Dan Talbot

where do you get the silly idea that Mormons believe themselves to be gods? Name the doctrine please. Is that why the Mormon Tabernacle choir sings “Jesus Savior Pilot Me”? You are so uninformed it is sad. Mormons have great morals…wish the unruly brats in many Pentecostal Holy-Roller churches had such high morals as Mormons.

          • SONshine Man

Dan, you are obviously ignorant because Momonism’s most basic premise is:
“AS MAN IS, GOD ONCE WAS; AND AS GOD IS, MAN MAY BECOME.” If that is not believing in your own “godhood”, I don’t know what is! And by the way, many Pentecostal and Charismatic groups bel;ieve the same heresy, except they believe they ARE a “god” right now. Thus, their belief in “the power of the spoken word”, that they can “create reality” by “positive confession”. So it is with ALL false religion. Man making himself God, a sure sign of being marked by sin and the satanic “seed” in each sinner until they receive Jesus Christ and are born again.

The Mormons are FOOLS, believing in a false prophet named Joseph Smith who denied that Jesus Christ is God and sought to MAKE HIMSELF GOD, just like HIS FATHER THE DEVIL (John 8:44). Smith claims to have SEEN GOD, which, according to John 1:18 proves he’s a false prophet: “No man hath seen God at any time.” End of story! Mormonism is nothing more than one more in a LONG line of false religions and cults that Satan Cleverly comes up with to keep people “lost and blind” and on their way to a devil’s burning HELL! Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life”, and no man comes to the Father but by HIM! (John 14:6) We don’t need Joseph Smith and his false Book of Morons; or the Pope and his “dog-crapma”; or Mohammed and his “Korn-bran”; or Charles Taze Russell and his “Watch out for the Watch Tower Slickciety”; or Mary Baker Eddie and her “Anti-Christian Quasi-science”. We just need JESUS CHRIST AND HIS WORD (the King James Version). Period!

          You’re 100% right.

          • SONshine Man

Raymond, I appreciate all your comments. You’re right on in everything you’ve posted here! You obviously do what many of these people never do, and that is STUDY. And what you do is study THE TRUTH which enables you to REPROVE THE LIES, like about Mormonism.

Paul said, “Am I become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” And Jesus said, “You want to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth.” When people want their “itching ears” catered to, they don’t like it when someone comes along preaching GOD’S TRUTH. But one day, unless they repent and get saved, they will tremble with fear when they stand before the living God, CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, to give an account; and THEN there will be NO arguing, NO more excuses!

Keep preaching the truth, there’s always someone out there who WILL listen. America is in really sad shape, mainly because people refuse to hear the truth and would rather stick with their petty little lies that please their flesh. How sad to hold on to a lie, only to end up IN HELL! I’m glad I’m saved by Jesus Christ and on my way to heaven. It’s because people are lost and Biblically illiterate that they believe heretical fools like Joseph Smith, the Popes, Mohammed, Charles Taze Russell, Mary Baker Eddie, and Harold Camping and his false “end of the world” teachings!

People in America are in for a very RUDE awakening! Just wait till we have full blown MARTIAL LAW here (which we are now in the first stages of!) When the “FEMA Camps” are open for business, people will WISH they had listened! But it will be too late! “America: Land of the freaks, home of the slaves!”

Agree! It is not Romney, but the writer who is painting the entire GOP with Romney’s brush. I agree that the items listed above makes it difficult for true blue conservatives to support Romney, but I have two questions for anyone who agrees with this writer:
        1. Do the things Romney did in Massachusetts diminish the need to replace Barack Obama, and
        2. Should Romney win the nomination, so we guarantee an Obama victory in 2012 by NOT voting for Romney?

I guess the real point is, between the things Romney has done and the things Obama has done, which one would you rather have in the White House?

I think what is wrong with the GOP is there are too many well meaning people who paint themselves into a philosophical corner and then have to choose between supporting a candidate they dislike or staying at home (which is the same as voting for a candidate that they hate.

I wonder what the fallout will be when Rick Perry becomes the new favorite and then has to explain signing a b ill that requires preteen girls be vacinated gainst HPV.

Item 1). Mormons are not Christians.
Your suggesting they are reveals your lack of
        understanding concerning God’s Word.

Item 2). What you believe determines how you’re
going to act, how you treat other people.
To suggest otherwise is utter foolishness.

Item 3). The Rothchild’s, The Mellon Family,

Morons, The Vatican, Islam, Masons & various
other groups which desire to have a 1 world

at what or who is supporting Glenn Beck or

Neither beat him yet he gave it up to McCain who couldn’t have won against pee wee herman. So we have romney to thank for obama and the condition of our country today. Then when he said he thinks global warming is real and man made, he convinced me he is a Mino Rino (Mormon in name only) as well. ………………………………Mormon Myths Exposed by Their Own Literature

Myth #1: Reading the Book of Mormon will tell you all about Mormon doctrine.
The Book of Mormon fails to teach the unique doctrine Latter-day Saints feel is necessary to believe and practice in order to become gods.

Myth #2: The book of Mormon has been proven by archaeology.
To date, nothing has been found to verify Book of Mormon sites. In fact, many within the Mormon Church are beginning to abandon the idea that the Book of Mormon is a book of verifiable history. No credible archaeologist outside of the Mormon Church considers the book to have any New World archaeological value.

Myth #3: Brigham Young never taught Adam was God.
Not only did Brigham Young teach that Adam was Michael the Archangel, the Ancient of Days, he also taught that Adam was “our Father and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do.”

He finished this message by saying, “Now, let all who may hear these doctrines, pause before they make light of them, or treat them with indifference, for they will prove their salvation or damnation.” (Journal of Discourses 1:50,51). Notice Young called this teaching a “doctrine,” not a “theory” as most Mormons like to refer to it today.

Myth #4: All of Joseph Smith’s prophecies came to pass.
If that was true, Jesus would have returned in 1891 (Documentary History of the Church (DHC) 2:182), the Civil War would have poured out upon all nations (Doctrines & Covenants 1:87:1-3); the wicked of Smith’s generation would have been swept from off the face of the land (DHC 1:315); and a temple would have been built in Independence, Missouri by the generation living in 1832 (D&C 84:4,5).

Myth #5: Joseph Smith died as a “lamb led to the slaughter.”
The fact is, Joseph Smith died in a gun battle using a pistol that was smuggled to him while incarcerated at Carthage jail. According to the DHC, Joseph Smith pulled this six-shooter from his pocket and “snapped the pistol six successive times; only three of the barrels, however, were discharged. I afterwards understood that two or three were wounded by these discharges, two of whom, I am informed, died” (John Taylor, Volume 7, pp. 102-103).

Myth #6: Polygamy was necessary in early Utah because there were more women than men.
The fact is there were more men than women in early Utah when polygamy was being practiced. Mormon Apostle John Widtsoe wrote on pages 390-91 of his book entitled Evidences and Reconciliations: “The most common of these conjectures is that the Church, through plural marriage, sought to provide husbands for its large surplus of female members. The applied assumption in this theory, that there have been more females than male members in the Church, is not supported by existing evidence. On the contrary, there seem always to have been more males than females in the Church… The theory that plural marriage was a consequence of a surplus of female church members fails from lack of evidence.”

I promise you, Mormons and Christians have more in common with conservatism than any other group.

        • http://patriotupdate.com Raymond

Gordon B. Hinckley, 96-year-old president of the Mormons, told the biannual meeting of the Latter Day Saints that the Book of Mormon contains a valid account of Christ’s dealings with the American Indians. This “valid account” claims that a group of Jews called the Jaredites came to America from the Middle East at the time of the tower of Babel. None of them survived, being that they were eventually destroyed by wars.

Another group from the Hebrew tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim migrated to America around 589 BC. They supposedly split into two groups, the Nephites and the Lamanites. The first were also destroyed by war but the Lamanites became ancestors of the Native Americans, according to the Book of Mormon account.

Author Thomas Heinze points out in his book, Answers To My Mormon Friends, that there is no clear historical or archeological evidence supporting this tale. By contrast, “Many cities mentioned in the Bible have indeed been uncovered by archeologists just where the Bible said.” Mormons have long sought to verify scientifically the Book of Mormon story. Overwhelming evidence has accumulated indicating that the story is pure fiction.

At one point they claimed that the Smithsonian Institution used the Book of Mormon as a guide to almost all of the major archeological discoveries in the Western Hemisphere. Queries to the Smithsonian brought this “diplomatic” response: “The Smithsonian Institution has never used the Book of Mormon in any way as a scientific guide. Smithsonian archeologists see no connection between the archeology of the New World and subject matter of the book… We know of no authentic cases of ancient Egyptian or Hebrew writing having been found in the New World.”

Speaking of languages, Heinze points out that nowhere in any of the Native American languages do you find any traces of Hebrew or Egyptian roots. In addition, recent DNA testing and other evidence firmly links the Native Americans to Mongolian tribes, not Hebrew.

Then there is the problem of the animals. Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi chapter 18 verse 25 says that the immigrants found cows, oxen, donkeys, horses and goats in the American wilderness. But all of the animals listed were not native to the New World. They were all brought by the Europeans a thousand years after the supposed landing of the Jaredites and Lamanites.

How sad that 12 million Mormons are resting their eternal destiny on such fiction. Soul winners, we must do all we can to introduce them to the real Jesus Christ who is the Saviour of the true saints in these latter days.

Heinze’s book is gentle enough to give to a Mormon who is willing to consider the truth. It also contains invaluable information for anyone considering becoming a Mormon or soul winners wanting to sharpen their witness to these precious, lost people.

          • Paul

Raymond is spot on – it’s not hatred of Mormons it’s a clear presentation of facts. Why does everyone who points out the bad things in people get labeled a “hater”?

Mormons are trying – with tv, radio, and print ads – to tell us how wonderful life as a mormon is. How it’s all about men creating a perfect society and becoming gods. They believe that the One True God, who revealed Himself by His Word, the Bible, and through His Son, Jesus Christ, is Himself an elevated, glorified man.

This folks is downright humanism. And Humanism – the belief that man is essentially good and can decide morality for himself apart from God – is precisely why we’re in this mess of a world that we’re in.

God tells a different story: For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. There is none righteous, not even one. The wages of sin (disobedience to God) is death [notice it's not elevation, enlightenment, or any other such impossible nonsense] BUT the free gift of God is eternal life, THROUGH JESUS CHIRST.

The Constitution is suitable to govern a moral and religious people (belief based not on any old religion but following the One True God and His only Son) -it is wholly inadequate for any other. Just look at the last dozen or so presidents, and the last dozen or so congresses and you’ll see the truth in that.

Godless America has walked all over the Constitution, and the federal system has taken more freedom from the people (and more of their livelihood) and given itself more power. And a large part of that power has been to remove God from every aspect of government and from the lives of the people it governs. Godless America has called evil good (same sex marriage, legalized abortion, war when we are not protecting ourselves, but seeking to institute “change” on others by force) and good evil (praying in public places is outlawed, parents’ rights are set aside whenever the state deems the state would do things differently, removal of God from ideology, law, society, removal of the people’s right to protect themselves from harm)

A mormon president, like an atheist president, like one claiming to be Christian but enamored of power, prestige, and profit (Clinton, Bush, Obama…) – is anathema to this country and its people.

It remains to be seen about Perry, but he is one governor who met Obama on the runway and put a letter into his hand after Obama had refused to acknowledge requests to meet with Perry. Perry also knows what he is doing with the financial business of his state, since 47% of all the jobs in the country in the last 2 yrs have been created in Texas. Texas has more Fortune 500 companies than any other state. Why? Because the business climate there is so much better. MD’s are also moving there in droves due to the law that people who file FRIVILOUS suits have to pay court costs if they LOSE. I’m certainly not going to rule him out just yet.

Evidence is continuing to surface that Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, had built quite a reputation as a local magician in rural New York prior to his supposed discovery of the golden plates and the “translation” of them to the Book of Mormon.

From the beginning, stories have circulated that placed young Smith in a family involved in “blessing crops, finding lost articles, predicting future events or prophesying, and using divine rods and seer stones.” These have been vigorously disputed by Mormon leaders as hear-say and unreliable.

But in 1971 a researcher of Mormon history found county documents in the musty basement of the jail in Norwich, New York containing evidence of Smith being arrested and evidently convicted of being a “disorderly person and an imposter.” Evidence presented told of his using a “certain stone” to find hidden treasure, lost articles, old gold mines, and buried money.

These court records substantiated the other accounts which Mormon leaders had tried to discount. Through letters and written records of Smith family members, neighbors and acquaintances, a picture emerges of a family involved in a variety of occult practices including animal sacrifices.

The most damning evidence involves this “peep stone.” When Joseph supposedly received the Golden Plates from the angel Maroni, they came with a pair of high-tech spectacles called urim and thummim. With these he was to translate the plates into English.

However, those who helped him with the translation claim that instead, he used the peep stone placed in the crown of a hat that he pulled over his face to close out the light. With the plates safely hidden in the nearby forest, Smith would be able to see the translation through the peep stone in the hat and dictate it to an accomplice.

Thus the same peep stone that failed to find buried treasure and got Smith convicted of fraud, was the instrument used to write the book of Mormon.

Evidence of fraud continues in the book of Mormon that goes into great detail about a vast American civilization which had immigrated from the middle east hundreds of years before Christ. Modern archaeologists have found absolutely no evidence of such a civilization.

It appears safe to conclude that the whole Mormon movement is founded on the wild delusions of a young man goaded by occult spirits with which he and his family had become all too familiar.

Mormonism stands or falls on the testimony of Joseph Smith, a New England farm boy. He claimed an angel named “Moroni” had visited him, leading him to ancient plates which said the American Indians were descended from immigrants from Jerusalem.

These immigrants were supposed to have been fair skinned. However, because of wickedness, many became darker skinned. The dark-skinned men eventually killed all the light-skinned (righteous) men, with only Moroni surviving.

Before his death, Moroni is supposed to have buried the records of his people, written by his father “Mormon,” in the ground in what is now New York state.

        Magic Stones
These records were reportedly written in “Reformed Egyptian” language, buried with two transparent stones. If one looked through these stones, one could read the “Reformed Egyptian” in his own language and translate “without error.”

Mormons today have little to say about the thousands of “corrections” made to their book since Smith’s first edition. In addition to the “historical” matter, The Book of Mormon contains much material quoted from the King James Bible.

Smith’s Book of Mormon was first printed in 1830. On April 6, 1830, the Mormon Church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) was formed with six members at Fayette, New York.

Leader Contradicts The Book of Mormon
Although claiming that The Book of Mormon was the inspired Word of God, more perfect and complete than any other, Joseph Smith later began teaching doctrines which were contrary to his own book.

By 1844, Smith had thousands of followers. He found himself in jail at Carthage, Illinois over the destruction of William Law’s print shop after Law had printed a paper revealing Smith’s polygamy.

An angry mob attacked the jail and Smith, using a pistol which had been smuggled to him, began firing into the crowd. Smith died in the blazing gunfire which ensued.

Although the Mormons broke into many factions, Brigham Young became president of the largest group. He led them to what is now Utah, arriving in the summer of 1847. Young was a brilliant colonizer who was able to organize the Mormons into a powerful group in Utah.

        53 Wives!
Married to 53 wives, Young added many new teachings to Mormonism. Among these was the concept of “blood atonement,” writing that there are sins which the blood of Jesus Christ cannot atone. Young claimed that the culprit’s only hope was to have his own blood shed to atone for his sins.

It is possible that this doctrine was responsible for the infamous Mountain Meadow Massacre, in which 117 men, women and children, ages 8 and up, were slaughtered without warning.

Mormon Bishop John Lee, having led the attack, died at the hands of a United States firing squad claiming that he had simply followed orders from his Mormon superiors.

Mormonism has since grown into one of America’s largest religious movements, with tens of thousands of “missionaries” recruiting more members each year.

Most of their “proselytes” come from other churches. Led astray by the false Mormon “prophets,” they find themselves in a cult from which few escape.

To single handed to destroy the Church Of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.
Actually I see you very often on nearly everything with Romney or The Church mentioned. In fact if neither is mentioned you attempt to inject the rants you seem to have mastered.
You remember the smart men were the ones who fought JESUS CHRIST so hard when he walked the earth.
Is this a speciel calling from Satan for you to fight JESUS so hard?
You really sound like an ex member who got caught in adultery and you were ex-comunicated and your wife left you, and now it’s Joseph Smith’s fault.
What will really be heart breaking for you is, there will be a day coming when you will beg our FATHER to please send you a Mormon Elder in your torment. Not a Bapt, Methodist, or TV preacher, but, an Elder who you hate so much. Sorry, that’s the way it will be, without fail!

O Greer, what is really heart breaking is that you are completely deceived and have no idea who Jesus Christ is or the knowledge of Truth. No, Raymond will not be calling for any Morman elder on that day but you will be joining with all those who the Bible clearly states will be doing this; “every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” I can only pray with Raymond that you will know the truth and be free from all your deception.

    • CarolTex

If Romney were guilty of all of the things that you espouse, then he wouldn’t be fit to live, much less govern. However, there are many of us who have a different opinion of the actual positions that he has taken,(not your clearly slanted version of his positions). Further, I am uncertain what your biggoted slap at the Mormon Church is all about. But if you truly knew anything at all about the Mormon Church, you would be ashamed of your rant, and would look to crawl under a rock. That is where you belong.

      • SONshine Man

Carol, you are obviously ignorant of the history of Mormonism, and as a Texan it is that should be ashamed! Joseph Smith was as much a false prophet as Mohammed. There was no “angel Moroni” (that was merely THE DEVIL in disguise); his doctrines and teachings are an abomination to God, especially Moronism’s most basic premise: “As man is, God once was; and as God is, man may become.” That is the oldest lie in the Bible, straight from the lying mouth of Satan: “ye shall be as gods”. (Genesis 3:5) No mortal man will EVER be “a god”, let alone THE God! Joseph Smith is tauted as some “martyr” due to how the LDS “church” distorts the truth about how he died. The man was a criminal, guilty of not only religious heresy, but participated in witchcraft with his “peep stones” that he wrongly called the “Urim and Thummim” as a perversion of what the Old Testament Jewish high priest wore. Joseph Smith died when he attempted to flee justice after making a jail break, and when the armed posse was attempting to apprehend him, he shot at them and they had to kill him in self defense. Thus it is no coincidence that Mitt Romney adheres to such a deceptive system in his own religious beliefs. That’s why he has no problem being a member of the globalist Council on Foreign Relations that is one of the major “players” in bringing in the
“fourth beast” world government prophesied in the Bible. Romney is a traitor to America; he is no friend of the Republic NOR is he a true Christian. He’s as fake as his “church” and the “Jesus Christ” they claim! Jesus is God, not a “man who became a god” as the Mormons believe! So with all that said, how is anyone who speaks out against Romney’s Mormonism being slanderous? Should we mention Smith’s and Brigham Young’s abominable doctrine of POLYGAMY? What about their racist view of black people, that the black race came from the third of the angels who tried to “stay neutral” between the third that sided with Lucifer and the third that sided with God against them? This is all well known fact, it is what Mormonism is based on! So WAKE UP MORMONS and not only do NOT support Romney but stop supporting the false system that is really a counterfeit of true Christianity and a CULT! One last thing: the “moral”
“family oriented” image that Mormnonism puts forth for public CON-sumption is nothing but a religious “dog and pony show” because their women have one of the HIGHEST suicide rates of any religious group in the world. Reason being: Mormonsim is a bad as Islam when it comes to the enslavement of women. They force their women to live up to their false “perfection” because they believe that their men will one day be a “god” that inhabits their own “celestial world” with all of their wives who therefore MUST be perfect to make it to that place with them. If those poor deceived and degraded women don’t live “up to par” (in the estimation of their Mormon “elders” and “prophets”), well, sorry! Girl, you’re OUT! That is the bondage they put their women under, and so they get so discouraged and depressed when they fail to “live up to” such an unrighteous system, many end up KILLING themselves! That shows how wicked ALL false religion is. That’s why we need to return to the one true God, the God of THE BIBLE who was the God of MANY of our founding fathers. That’s who JESUS CHRIST is! That’s who we ALL need! Oh, let me not fail to mention: RON PAUL 2012! Support anyone BUT him if you want 4 more years of the “Obama-nation”!

        Who Are The Mormons?

The Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They follow a religion founded by Joseph Smith, the first Mormon prophet, following a series of visions which started around 1820.

While they kept themselves separate during their early years, condemning all Christian churches and putting great emphasis on their prophet Joseph Smith, more recently there have been many changes in their culture and even a few changes in their doctrine.

Their emphasis now is much less on Joseph Smith and much more on Jesus Christ. As a Christian, I applaud and encourage this increased emphasis on Christ. I hope this direction will continue, and that many will come to trust Him completely and exclusively for their salvation.

In addition, where once Mormons were somewhat known for dysfunctional families with numerous downtrodden wives, in more recent years they have come to be admired for their strong emphasis on sound families and high moral values. In a world where alcohol and drug abuse abound, Mormons excel. A good Mormon does not even drink coffee or tea.

        The Mormon’s Scriptures

The Mormons have four books as their scriptures:

        • The Bible, King James Version
        • The Book of Mormon (My abbreviation: B of M)
        • The Doctrine and Covenants
        • The Pearl of Great Price.
The Mormons consider The Book of Mormon to be the most important of these books. In addition, the president of the Church is considered to be a living prophet.

Where Did the Book of Mormon Come From?

Joseph Smith said that an angel showed him The Book Of Mormon written on gold plates in a language he called Reformed Egyptian.1. He said that he translated these plates into English. The gold plates are not now available, and the Reformed Egyptian language is not known. The reason to believe that the plates once existed is faith in the word of Joseph Smith and eleven others who said they had seen them.

The Book of Mormon Introduction includes two statements. One, called “the testimony of the three witnesses” contains the names of the three. The second, called “the testimony of the eight witnesses” is followed by eight names. Both groups say they have seen the plates.

The first three witnesses, Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, and Martin Harris are given the most importance because Doctrine and Covenants predicted: “I will give them power that they may behold and view these things as they are; And to none else will I grant this power…” The Book of Mormon predicted:

“…The book shall be hid from the eyes of the world that the eyes of none shall behold it save it be that the three witnesses shall behold it by the power of God… And there is none other which shall view it, save it be a few according to the will of God…”
Doctrine and Covenants 17:2 says, “And it is by your faith that you shall obtain a view of them.” By their faith, then, and by the power of God, the witnesses were to have viewed the plates.

Can we believe their witness? All of the three witnesses were excommunicated later by the Mormons themselves who accused them of lying, stealing, cheating, counterfeiting, defrauding, and persecuting the Mormons.

One of the Mormon’s own scriptures, Doctrine and Covenants, has God saying that it was not wise to send Oliver Cowdery, the first of the three witnesses, carrying church money and a manuscript unless someone who was honest went with him (69:1). He later became a Methodist, and was eventually buried by a Methodist minister.

Another Mormon scripture went so far as to call Martin Harris, another of the three witnesses, a “wicked man” and a liar. The Mormons themselves do not want to accept a later witness of David Whitmer:

“In June 1838, God spoke to me again by His own voice from the heavens and told me to ‘separate myself from among the Latter Day Saints.’”
From time to time, Whitmer belonged to at least three Mormon splinter groups.

It seems clear that the three witnesses did say they saw the plates. The question is, can we believe their testimony? If we can believe the statements of Joseph Smith and other Mormon leaders about the character of these three witnesses, particularly the accusations that they were liars, there is little to give us faith in The Book of Mormonother than the word of Joseph Smith himself.

We will leave the three witnesses with Joseph Smith’s blessing:

“Such characters as McLellin, John Whitmer, David Whitmer, Oliver Cowdery, and Martin Harris are too mean to mention; and we had liked to have forgotten them.”
David Whitmer, one of the first three witnesses, wrote that all of the second group of eight witnesses who were then living, except Joseph’s father and two brothers, had left the Church of Latter-day Saints.

        Correcting the Most Correct Book

Protestants, Catholics, and Mormons all consider the Bible the inspired word of God. The original Hebrew and Greek documents of the Bible no longer exist, but there are many ancient copies. Great effort is made to compare these copies to one another to determine which copies reflect the original, and which contain errors in copying. The object is to determine what the original Old Testament Hebrew and the original New Testament Greek actually said.

The introduction to The Book of Mormon states that it was written by ancient prophets by the spirit of prophecy and revelation on gold plates. The plates were later, “delivered to Joseph Smith, who translated them by the gift and power of God.” Smith is then quoted as saying,

“I told the brethren that The Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”

Though the English translation of The Book of Mormon serves as the original from which other translations are made, Mormon leaders have made over 4,000 corrections in Smith’s translation. Many of the changes were made to correct embarrassing spelling and grammatical errors such as “…Adam and Eve, which was our first parents.” Mormon Apostle B.H. Roberts wrote,

“Are those flagrant errors in grammar chargeable to the Lord? To say so is to invite ridicule… That old theory cannot be successfully maintained; that is that the Urim and the Thummim did the translating, the prophet nothing beyond repeating what he saw reflected in that instrument.”
Other corrections were added as Joseph Smith’s view of God changed. For example, “mother of God” in the original 1830 version becomes “mother of the Son of God” (B of M, 1 Nephi 11:18). And “King Benjamin” becomes “King Mosiah” (B of M, Ether 4:1).

Instead of trying to determine and maintain the original just as Smith had first written it, as is the case with the Bible, Mormon leaders felt that it needed correction. After cleaning up the grammar, and correcting other mistakes, some Mormon leaders tell people that since Joseph Smith had little education, he would have to have had divine guidance to have written The Book of Mormon so well!

Jerald and Sandra Tanner’s website, Utah Lighthouse Ministries (www.utlm.org) will direct you to great quantities of well documented information, including many of the changes, plus links to images of the pages of the original 1830 Book of Mormon so you can compare them yourself. (www.irr.org/mit/changingscrips.html)

The eighth article in the Mormon statement of faith is:

“We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God.”
While Mormons tell outsiders that they believe the Bible, and it is in the list of the four books they accept as scripture, in practice, the Bible gets downgraded. When a point comes up in the conversation in which Mormon belief contradicts the Bible, Mormons are often taught that in that point, the Bible must have been translated incorrectly.

In practice the Bible is subordinated to The Book of Mormon and to today’s Mormon teachings. Speaking of the Bible, The Book of Mormon states:

“…after the book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God.”
The explanation is given that this means the Catholic Church changed the Bible so that many parts of it are no longer trustworthy.

It is easy to check out that idea. Many parts of the Hebrew Old Testament were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls which had been hidden at various times from 100 BC to 100 AD in caves near the Dead Sea. They remained there until 1946 when the first of these manuscripts was found. The scrolls of the Bible were among the oldest of the Dead Sea Scrolls. These parts of the Bible were hidden before there was a Catholic Church, and found relatively recently, so they could not have been changed. No “plain and precious things were taken away from” the Old Testament.

This leaves only the New Testament, and there are more ancient documents of the New Testament still in existence than of any other ancient book. How could any church have gathered up and changed all those copies? Mormons claim that specific changes which they mention were made in translating the Bible. No old Greek or Hebrew manuscript of the Bible of any age backs up these claims.

The only translation of the Bible that the Catholic Church accepted up through the time of the Protestant Reformation was the Latin Vulgate, translated by Saint Jerome around 400 AD. From that time until the last few hundred years, Catholics opposed any new translations of the Bible, so only Protestants translated it. Protestants translated directly from the Greek and Hebrew, not from anything the Catholic Church could have changed. Therefore, while the Catholic Church could have influenced the translation of the Latin Vulgate, and other translations which depended on the Vulgate, they could not change the Protestant translations which are the great majority.

I read from the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament every day, not as an expert but as a student. Since these are the original languages of the Bible, I can say from personal experience that the differences between what Mormons believe and the Bible are not caused by mistranslations of the Bible.

The Bible has been translated into more languages than any other book. You can check different translations of the Bible in every language you know. They use different words to express the meaning of the original, but you will never find one translation that says “King Benjamin” where another translates “King Mosiah.” though this change was made in The Book of Mormon. If one book should be considered inferior to the other because of translation problems, the Bible should be honored above The Book of Mormon, not the other way around.

Like The Book of Mormon, the other official Mormon Scriptures, Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price have also undergone many corrections. As I will point out later, in many instances where Mormon doctrine contradicts the Bible, it also contradicts The Book of Mormon, and sometimes the first part of Doctrine and Covenants. In these cases Mormon leaders tend to criticize the Bible, saying it was translated incorrectly, while ignoring the same contradictions with their other two books.

Mormons usually say they know that Mormon beliefs are correct because they have been taught to pray that the Holy Ghost would give them the testimony, that is, knowledge received by revelation from the Holy Ghost, which teaches them that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is “the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth.”

Some have prayed for the testimony, and feel that they have it and that Mormonism is right, but others who have prayed feel just as strongly that it is wrong. Still others think they have received the testimony that one or another of the Mormon splinter groups is the true church. God has told me, by His Spirit and through the Bible, that in the points where Mormon doctrine contradicts the Bible, Mormon doctrine is wrong.

Why should we pray for this testimony only about Mormonism and The Book of Mormon? How about Islam and the Koran? The Jehovah’s Witnesses, Scientology? We need God’s guidance, but people who rely on their feelings and purposely ignore the objective evidence can often be manipulated into believing things that are not true.

When Jesus Christ rose from the dead, he did not ask His disciples to believe in His resurrection only on the basis of the testimony of the Holy Ghost. He also showed them His hands and his feet, and ate in their presence. The evidence supported the testimony. If a testimony really is from the Holy Ghost, it is true, and the physical evidence will confirm, rather than refute that testimony.

It is easy to check out the evidence that confirms or refutes Smith’s ability as a translator. Whether or not the gold plates of The Book of Mormon and its language “Reformed Egyptian” really existed, Smith later acquired a real ancient Egyptian manuscript. It was not written in hieroglyphics, but in the script called hieratic which came into use after hieroglyphics. Smith claimed to have translated this manuscript. He called the translation The Book of Abraham, written by the Abraham of the Old Testament. It is the second part of The Pearl of Great Price, one of the Mormon scriptures.

The manuscript, a papyrus, was thought to have been lost in the Chicago fire, but later found its way into the Metropolitan Museum of New York. Because it was identified by the Mormon Church as the one from which Smith had made his translation, the museum donated the papyrus to the Church.

The church’s identification of the manuscript could hardly be in error because to protect the fragile papyrus, it had been backed in Smith’s time with heavy old paper with writing on the back which helped the church to recognize it as authentic. This translation has given the church and the world the opportunity to put Smith’s ability to translate Egyptian to the test.

A number of qualified Egyptologists have stated in writing that the manuscript made no mention at all of Abraham, but spoke instead of pagan funerals. One expert, Samuel A.B. Mercer, wrote:

“All the scholars come to the same conclusion, viz. that Smith could not possibly translate any Egyptian text, as his translation of the facsimiles shows. Any pupil of mine who would show such absolute ignorance of Egyptian as Smith does, could not possibly expect to get more than a zero in an examination in Egyptology…”
Smith translated one word, which was the name of an Egyptian moon god, one hundred seventy seven different ways in different places in the text, none correctly.

A Mormon named Grant Howard was excommunicated from the church for pointing out one letter which Smith had translated into seventy six words.1

Because these manuscripts show that neither Smith or any spirit that may have inspired him could translate Egyptian, some Mormons have denied that the manuscripts which were found were the same ones which Smith had “translated.” This theory can quickly be eliminated two ways.

Smith included pictures from the manuscripts in three places in the Book of Abraham, a part of the Mormon scripture, Pearl of Great Price. (See pages 28, 34, and 42.) Smith wrote detailed explanations of the pictures which are there with them. Some of these pictures have writing on them, so Marvin Cowan sent them to experts who translated them and attested that they have nothing to do with Abraham, and that Smith’s explanations are false.14 You can send them to an expert too.

Also, photos were taken of the other pieces of papyri. One includes the picture on page 28 of Pearl of Great Price, along with a good deal of writing on each side of the picture. It is undeniably the manuscript which Smith claimed to have translated. Since the engraved plates of The Book of Mormon are no longer with us, this is the only manuscript in existence by which we can judge whether or not Smith could translate Egyptian. He could not.

While Smith’s statement about where his story of Abraham came from is not trustworthy, this does not mean that his whole book of Abraham is made up. Some of it comes from the King James Bible, which was translated into English from Greek and Hebrew in 1611. Compare Genesis 12:1-13 with Abraham 2 in The Pearl of Great Price. Smith made his “translation” some time after 1835 when he acquired the ancient Egyptian manuscript. If he had really translated this from Egyptian, how could he use old English expressions like “removed from thence?” This phrase is word for word the way it was translated in the King James Bible, first published two hundred years before Smith’s “translation,” and thousands of years after Smith said Abraham had written the book in Egyptian.

It should not be inferred that Smith copied the whole book of Abraham from the King James Bible. He did not. Some passages, however, like the two samples below are too close to King James English to be accidental:

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:” (Genesis 12:1).

Compare this to Smith’s translation from The Pearl of Great Price:
“Now the Lord had said unto me: Abraham, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee.” (Abraham 2:3)
In this verse, only two words of Smith’s “translation” are different than the words of the King James Bible.

Compare also the first half of Genesis 1:30:

“And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth…”
The first half of Abraham 4:30 is identical.

“And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth…”
(Compare also Genesis 12:2 with Abraham 2:9; Genesis 12:3 with Abraham 2:11, Genesis 12:4 with Abraham 2:14.) Smith must have copied these and other passages from the King James Bible.

The Book of Abraham is important because:

        • It shows that Joseph Smith was either untruthful or seriously deluded in attributing the source of the Book of Abraham to a papyrus which had nothing to do with the content of his Book of Abraham.
        • It exposes Smith’s inability to translate Egyptian, a very important fact, because Reformed Egyptian is the language from which he claimed to have translated The Book of Mormon.
        • The Book of Abraham is a source of the doctrine that blacks could not be allowed into the Mormon priesthood. While this doctrine has always been morally wrong, it later became politically incorrect, and an embarrassment to the Mormon church. L.D.S. President Kimball had a revelation in 1978 which reversed the doctrine.
The Book of Moses, another of the books in The Pearl of Great Price, has at least one whole page which is almost word for word the old English of the King James Bible. (Compare Moses 4:8-25 to Genesis 3:2-19.)

The prize for the longest section copied from the King James Bible, however, goes to 2 Nephi in The Book of Mormon. Chapters 12-24 are copied nearly word for word from Isaiah chapters 2-14, in all, about fifteen pages. The King James is an almost word for word translation from the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament. In some places this does not make good English so the translators had to add some connecting words. To help us recognize what was in the original and what was not, the words they added were italicized in some editions, and put in brackets in others. Even these words which were not in the original Hebrew, but existed only in the King James Bible, ended up in The Book of Mormon.

Mormons are told: “Moroni deposited the plates in the Hill Cumorah in about 421 A.D”17 If these plates were really hidden away over a thousand years before the King James Bible was translated into English, and Joseph had translated The Book of Mormon from those plates, how could he have translated hundreds of words, one after another, in exact King James English? Had he memorized that much of the Bible, or did he copy them?

History, Archeology, and The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon tells of groups of Jews who left the land of Israel and moved to what was probably Central America:

        • The Jaredites left at the time of the Tower of Babel, and were eventually destroyed by wars.
        • A group from the half tribe of Manasseh and from the tribe of Ephraim led by Lehi arrived around 589 B.C. They eventually split into two groups, the Nephites who were destroyed by war, and the Lamanites who became the ancestors of the Native Americans. (See the first two paragraphs of the Introduction to The Book of Mormon.)

The Book of Mormon is presented as true history and gives a number of details which we can check out. Mormons often claim that archeological discoveries confirm the statements of The Book of Mormon. Many cities, mentioned in the Bible have indeed been uncovered by archeologists just where the Bible said.

However, no archeological evidence has been found in the Americas that directly verifies The Book of Mormon. Artifacts that have been found which could have been produced and used by the people of The Book of Mormon, could also have been produced and used by other people. Mormons have claimed, for example, that the Smithsonian Institution officially recognized The Book of Mormonand that it had been used as the guide to almost all of the major discoveries. This generated so many inquires that the Smithsonian had to write out a stock answer which denies the claim. Here are a few excerpts:

“…The Smithsonian Institution has never used The Book of Mormon in any way as a scientific guide. Smithsonian archeologists see no connection between the archeology of the New World and the subject matter of the book… We know of no authentic cases of ancient Egyptian or Hebrew writing having been found in the New World.”

As of 2001, the answer had been abbreviated to:
“Your inquiry of February 7 concerning the Smithsonian Institution’s alleged use of The Book of Mormon as a scientific guide has been received in this office for response. The Book of Mormon is a religious document and not a scientific guide. The Smithsonian Institution has never used it in archeological research, and any information that you have received to the contrary is incorrect. Your interest in the Smithsonian Institution is appreciated.”
        The Languages

According to The Book of Mormon, the languages spoken by the first people to live in the Americas were Hebrew and Egyptian. If this were true, at least some of the native American languages should contain words which clearly show this origin. English has thousands of words which contain Greek and Latin roots. After two thousand years these roots still show the influences of Greek and Latin. If The Book of Mormonis correct, many Indian words should contain Hebrew and Egyptian roots. Many English words come to us from Spanish, French and the Germanic languages. Hebrew and Egyptian words, however, are not found in any of the Indian languages.

We use the Japanese word “tsunami” for tidal waves. Many such foreign words tend to creep into languages when there is some contact between the people, but Hebrew or Egyptian words did not creep into the native American languages.

The Hebrew immigrants, according to The Book of Mormon, knew how to read and write. If these really were the original languages it would seem probable that with all the archeological finds in Central America, manuscripts or inscriptions in Hebrew or Egyptian would be found. While Mormons point to a few artifacts which may well have arrived from across the ocean, particularly from Japan, these artifacts do not indicate that the inhabitants of the Americas came from there.

        The Animals
“And it came to pass that we did find upon the land of promise as we journeyed into the wilderness that there were beasts in the forest of every kind, both the cow and the ox, and the ass and the horse, and the goat and the wild goat…”
All the animals mentioned were imported to the Americas by Europeans after Columbus discovered America. None are believed to have lived in Latin America a few hundred years before and after the time of Christ when the migrations of The Book of Mormon were to have taken place. Native animals, such as the Alpaca and the Llama, are never mentioned in The Book of Mormon.

        The People
Many of the old inhabitants of the Americas are well known, the Incas, Aztecs, and the Mayas for example. None of these are mentioned in The Book of Mormon. It speaks instead of Jaredites, Nephites, and Lamanites. All are supposed to have come from the general area of Israel. None of these are mentioned in any other history of the new world. The Indians of America are, for the most part, of Mongolian origin.
In addition to the metals that people of the Americas are known to have used, The Book of Mormon says they also used iron and steel, implying an iron industry much larger than could be based on an occasional iron meteorite.20 No iron industry in America in this period has been reported in history or found by archeologists. While it is possible that American Indians had iron and steel industries which left no trace, the fact that none have been found is an additional evidence to consider.

    • SONshine Man

I agree with you completely. I would just remind you that there is only ONE candidate you should support, and that is RON PAUL. If you want 4 more years of the “Obama-nation”, support anyone else.

      • Dan Talbot

Ron Paul? Why not his clone, Cindy Sheehan? They both want the DoD to surrender our interests around the globe. Smarten up.

        • SONshine Man

“Our interests around the globe”? You mean like invading countries that have NOTHING to do with any threat against us simply to expand the ANGLO-AMERICAN EMPIRE? You mean like nations that have NO “WMD’s” (like Bush lied to us about in the case of Iraq and the government is now pushing the same lie about Iran)? You mean like molesting, raping, abusing, torturing, and slaughtering innocent UNARMED men, womnen, and children by the MILLIONS in those nations we are invading? You mean like growing and protecting the POPPIE FIELDS in Afghanistan which WE harvest and OUR GOVERNMENT imports into this country with their fake “war on drugs” compliments of our DEA? You mean like how our government is now conducting “war” in EIGHT middle eastern countries, several of which are OUR ALLIES (like Pakistan) at a cost of ONE BILLION DOLLARS PER WEEK while our own economy is almost shot to the pit? You mean like how all our “global interests” are leading to MORE AND MORE POLICE STATE MEASURES HERE IN AMERICA due to this so-called “war on terror”? You mean all those “global interests” that have our Pentagon-directed media telling the American people that “we got Bin-laden” when the fact is he died of Marfan’s Syndrome TEN YEARS AGO? You mean all those “global interests” that are now the excuse for the TSA to stick their hands down the pants of 6 year old little girls and UP INTO the vagina of Miss America and SQUEEZE the testicles of Texas Legislators and Congressman? You mean all THOSE “global interests” where we are WAY LESS FREE since 9-11 even though Bush told us “the terrorists attacked us because they hate our freedom so much?” You mean all those “global interests” that make our freedoms SO PRECIOUS that we now have HARDLY ANY LEFT? You mean THOSE “global interests”?

Dan, get your head out of the clouds and GET REAL! We’re now in the first atages of MARTIAL LAW! Wake up before it’s too late! It’s because of gullible “sheeple” like YOU that this nation is where she’s at, and why the New World Order is taking over! DUH!
          RON PAUL 2012!!!

    • NoCAGal

I’m liking Bachmann and Santorum a lot!!!

      • a constitutionalist

Bachmann ok. Santorum, better study up a little. He’s not the conservative he pretends to be. we in Pennsylvania threw him out some years back !

    • Apache6

      Here’s MY Carbon Footprint: AR15,and .45acp !!

    • O Greer

WoW, you have all the answers. And everyone sounds like it came from a bar stool. I really like that cartoon about Rothchild/ LDS Church. Did that come about after a mushroom trip? You are in need of a padded cell.

    • American with a Birth Certificate…

If Romney is really for shariah in America anywhere for any reason then I will not vote for him.

  • Dan Worthington

Unfortunately, if Romney runs, he will get the Mormon vote just because he is a Mormon.
I hope Mormons will wake up (Just like I hope all Americans wake up) and realize what a fake he is. WAKE UP MORMONS !!!!!!!

  • James

I am a Republican but if he becomes the only choice at election time I will not vote at all. Plain and simple. Period.

    • TooToo

What a poor attitude! If you can’t support your party, don’t throw a tantrum, get out of the party! Don’t take your marbles and go home!

    • Heyoka

This is exactly why we are in this mess, apathy. We have three choices here, vote, roll over and just stop whining or pick up a gun….

Dispare is the killer of the mind and feeds the fear that kills the heart.

    • Swede

You have got to hold your nose and vote for whoever the nominee is against Obama or you will contribute to the continued demise of our republic.

      • A Mere American

Voting Romney in is the same as Obama being re-elected. We have to make sure he doesn’t become the nominee in the Primary. Only way we are going to stop him and get someone in that does love America and all she stands for.

      • Dorothy Carroll

        I agree.

      • NORTHERN BULL DOG

        Sweedw:
Iagree with you 1000%- regardless we have to vote a no vote is a vote for the SOB MUSLIN now in office!! Hell a dog catcher would make a better president than that Anti- American SOB MUSLIN!! therfore if you have to HOLD YOUR NOSE,”if neccesary” & VOTE!!

        • Apache6

I starting to get real pissed at having to vote for the lesser of two EVILS every election,WE THE PEOPLE must vote for the most Conservative person running!! this is no longer about PARTY,IT’S about PRINCIPLES!! WE must stand FIRM!!!

      • American with a Birth Certificate…

        Well said and true…..

    • deb

don’t ya’ll know that it’s romneys turn as promised in 2008. that’s why he droppped out so early, so mccain could have his turn. i’m tired of this pecking order the republican party has laid out for itself. come on bachmann, palin, perry some one not already on the rino lit!!!!

      • Robert Green

Deb is absolutley on target, the Repuplican leadership does have a “your turn” mentality.I am sick of hearing from Romney and other RINOS. It is time for grass roots conservatives to take controll of the party.Do understand this is our last chance to save our republic.

        • am2sweet

In thinking about it you two are right. It’s like they draw sticks or something the the one with the shortest one gets to run for office. Or rather win the parties vote. I do still like Perry, Bachmann, Palin, and Cain. Two others haven’t said they are running along with Palin who hasn’t said either but seems they would do well if they did.

      • Christian Archer

I’m a native Texan and I think you should drop Mr. Perry off your list. The Texas state constitution gives our governor the authority to call up the Texas National Guard and secure our border. Has Gov. Perry done this? No!!! I can’t speak for all Texas constitutional conservatives but I am one who is against Gov. Perry being president of the U.S. He didn’t even have the guts to back Gov. Jan Brewer and Arizona’s SB 1070. He’s weak on illegal immigration and panders to the Latinos fearing they may be in masse for granting amnesty to ALL illegal immigrants. Gov. Perry was also for a Trans-Texas Corridor that would allow Mexican truck drivers to transfer their goods all the way to Kansas City, Kansas without being checked at the U.S./Mexico border. Land was taken away from farmers and land owners (eminent domain) to start this project. We Texans raised HELL and the project was canned.

        • Al Tallant

Response to your earlier post on Perry and his trans atlantic corridor and?
One thing you forgot to add was Perry speaking before The Bilderberg Group. Wonder what his affiliation is?

          • Christian Archer

It’s not a trans-Alantic corridor, it was called a Trans-Texas corridor. Regarding Gov. Perry’s connection with the Bilderberg Group, I have never seen his name come up on any lists of people attending the Bilderberg Group meetings. I’m somewhat astute regarding the Bilderberg Group and their desire for world dominance. Take a look at Alex Jones’ Prison Planet and the videos he has regarding the Bilderberg Group. There’s also much more information about that secret organization and who attends their meetings. Franklin Ruehl also has some information regarding their purposes and goals. I don’t believe that Rick Perry is part of that group, at least my research hasn’t uncovered him as being a part.

          • SONshine Man

Al (and for Christian Archer who responded to your post): please go HERE for the factual documentation on Rick Perry and the Bilderbergs:

            http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/may2007/310507rickperry.htm

He IS a Bilderberg member which is why he is now being promoted so hot and heavy by the Neo-Con Republican/Pentagon-controlled globalist media as THE one to “save America from Obama”. Perry is fake. He is no “Christian” NOR is he a true
“Conservative”. I’m from Texas and I am well familiar with “Governor Zoolander” as he is mockingly known there. Anyone that lies to the Texas public that the “HPV” vaccine was MANDITORY for girls is a scum bag. There is NO LAW ANYWHERE compelling anyone to be vaccinated (one of the biggest lies pushed by the Government Schools, by the way!) That vaccine is responsible for THOUSANDS of girls now experiencing severe health problems, and to date, around 100 have DIED from it. But then, that’s no big deal to “Governor Rick” when you consider he has relatives who work for Merck Pharmaceutical (the eugenicist maker of Gardosil) and that they contributed substantially to his re-election campaign in 2008. Perry is a traitor. He violated the Logan Act as you’ll see in the article I’ve linked here. No true American would EVER attend a Bilderberg meeting. They are one of the main groups working for world government. FDR (President Roosevelt) made a very telling statement:
“Presidents are selected, not elected.” That’s why we should all be supporting the ONLY viable candidate for President: RON PAUL. He stands for the US Constitution; he’s not a “bought and paid for establishment insider”; he is the ONLY one in Congress who has NEVER voted for a tax increase NOR for a raise for himself and his fellow Congressmen. He is a modern day Thomas Jefferson. If you want more tyranny, support someone other than him. RON PAUL 2012!

      • Charlie

        Sing it, Sister!

The succession mentality of the Republican Party has all but guaranteed we probably won’t have a truly good candidate from them for at least another ten to twenty years if that keeps up.

Right now, the Republicans have several good candidates- Ron Paul, Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty and Michelle Bachmann come to mind. However, if they follow tradition, they’ll choose the weakest link. Romney is not a great candidate, although, depending on who the Libertarians nominante, I may vote for him if he gets the nomination simply because four more years of President Obama is something we can’t take as a country.

The parties, Republican and Democart, as well as the press, need to stop anointing successors and let the electorate make real decisions for their candidates. I think we would have better candidates and better government in the long run if that happened.

Oh…wait, that would screw up their goals of making a complete mess of the nation. Nevermind.

        • Greg

Pawlenty was for Cap & Trade the second worst law next to NAFTA. He says he saw the light, too late.

      • Apache6

        DEB,I’m going with TEAM BACHMANN!!!!

    • Eddie G.

Dumb choice Jimmy,Romney stinks but anything is better than Obama, even Charlie Sheen. Hold yer nose n’ vote,it’s your civic duty. We can always use the milquetoast congress to fight Romney when he f*cks up.

      • Apache6

NO,no more holding OUR nose, and voting for the lesser of two evils!! WE THE PEOPLE,must pick the RIGHT(pun intended)person this TIME!!

        • Apache6

          P.S. AND IT’S NOT ROMNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • a constitutionalist

While I fully agree that I’m sick of voting for the lesser of two evils. That seems to be ALL we ever do.I know people that are so sick they won’t vote at all. We cannot allow this to continue or we are doomed. I’ll take a puke bag with me into the voying booth if it will help me vote this muslim poser POS out of office !

          • a constitutionalist

Correction: Sorry, should have been voting booth !

    • JC711

James, by NOT voting for Romney in a Romney vs OBAMA contest, you are helping OBAMA !!! IS that what you want ??? Obama is MUCH WORSE than Romney. Please reconsider your foolish stance, and vote for the LESSER evil. Let’s hope it’s NOT Romney, though…

      • Dorothy Carroll

ALL James’s out there, PLEASE pay attention.
Going fishing on election day insures another four year of Communism in the White House.

      • DAVID

This what is wrong with you Rino’s. Lesser of 2 evils is still evil. Romney should not even be a consideration. If this country is headed to hell, the question shouldn’t be do we take a plane or should we take a bus? It should be, we need to change directions quickly. Romney is the bus. He believes man made global warming (same as Obummer), he put in Obamney care, he was pro-choice before he became pro-life(sort of), he was against the Bush tax cuts. The liberal tendency’s should scare you.

      • http://patriotupdate.com Raymond

        Well put.

    • Klaus

Not voting at all is not a good idea. Anyone is better than Obama. Keep in mind that appointees end up running our country. I don’t believe Romney would appoint communists like Obama has. By the way, I am no Romney fan either, or McCain for that matter. I voted for Sarah Palin.

      • Dorothy Carroll

Sarah would vote for Romney over Obama.

        • Rockyspoon

Excellent point, Dorothy! I’m no Romney lover, but my local dog catcher would make a better president than Obama has or ever will.

    • Madasahatter

Yes, it would be so much better to have Obama in the White House another 4 years than Romney. We can all then look forward to the New World Order.

      • Rockyspoon

        Your sarcasm is aptly framed.

    • http://RomneyIsWhat’sWrongWithTheRepublicanParty Oregondriver

What is wrong is that so many of these “republican voters” are planning on sitting out the election if “their” favorite is not the final selection….which means that they would rather have another four years of Obummer than try to get things changed for the better (ABO = Anyone But Obama!) Grow up people! This is not a schoolyard we are concerned with….it is the future of our nation!

      • a constitutionalist

I will admit the 2nd to last thing I want to hear is “Anyone but Oblah blah”…but the last thing I want to hear is “I’ll stay home on election day ’cause my candidate isn’t on the ticket”. People, this would be catastrophic as well as Un American. We have a slim chance at best to be rid of this POS and we MUST not let it go. Think of all the soldiers that have fought and died to support this Republic, far too many for me to imagine. Did they sacrifice so we can sit home on election day and allow a towelhead to again hijack our country with the express intent to destroy it ? I don’t think so ! Our soldiers never give up and neither should we. Those who are thinking of staying home, please think again and help us remove an evil from our house !

    • Aberdeem

If you do you will be casting a vote for Obama and I will not be thanking you.

    • nucstrike

I’d vote for Mortimer Snurd just to get obummer out!

    • Butch

      James,
Count me in….I’m with you…I have enought to answer for when I stand before the Lord, but Voting for a Cult Priest will not be one of the things…I’ll stay home come election day

    • Steven

You are part of the problem.

    • http://! Bobcat

you are the cause of the problem, by not voting you are helping ole dumb shI*, we need to get rid of him. VOTE!!!
      bachmann/palin.

    • Dan Talbot

you threaten to not vote if Romney is the candidate….you are mistaken. NOT VOTING IS A VOTE. It is a vote you will silently, stupidly, and deludedly caste for Obozo.

  • Gary

Unlike most politicians I am not going to speak for all of the other citizens. I don’t have any idea why but their speaking for me is not always appreciated. I live in Texas and voted for Perry only because I could not vote for Mr Toll road White. Yes, I again was forced to vote for the better of two evils. Mr. Perry has been misusing our taxes and tried to force a trans Texas corridor down our throats ala the socialist medical program of obama. Perry is not for the general populace he is for Rick Perry in my opinion.

    • Dorothy Carroll

Rick Perry has made some mistakes, done some things with which we don’t agree, note I was and still am, vehemently agains the TTC, Rick is man enough to admit his mistakes and change his attitude. How many other folks in elected office do this?

      • a constitutionalist

Did he really change his thoughts, attitude and decisions or did he just SAY he did ?

        Big difference ! !

  • ALFRED E. NEUMAN

ROMNEY IS A POLITICAL HACK JUST AS HIS FATHER WAS. COULD NOT MAKE IT IN THE AUTO MFG. BUSINESS SO HE TURNED TO MICHIGAN POLITICS.WHAT A SAD SACK HACK THIS MAN IS. “HE SPEAK WITH FORKED TONGUE”!

  • Heyoka

Romney is a Morman but we in the church know a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is the second comming of the same old RINO bunch and it seems more of a true liberal than anything. I would trust this man no further that I can throw an African Elephant. He is just dividing the conservative voting block.

We need to be a grass roots movement to elect a new president and one with really conservative principles. If they have not lived by these principle then know them for the deceivers they are.

Romney becomming a conservative is akin to a lepard changing its spots… not gonna happen.

Regardless of what the rest of the Christian people we Mormons who are true to the Bible and even the Book of Mormon, we consider them companion books that support each other, believ that the Framers were Divinly inspired and that the Constitution was an inspired document. It echos the truth the Bible states about being under God not a so called king. Samuel warned the people what would happen when the chose to have a king over them… not a thing has changed.

If we do not organize on a grass roots level and pour all our resorces and prayers behind a proper candidate the “system” will drain us of resourcs, they will divide the vote, and either a weak candidate will fail in the election or we will get a liberal in republican clothes.

The term Republic is the key, not party but for of government. See Artocle IV Section 4 and find out what the framers meant by it and the promise of anyone who takes upon themselves the mantle of authorty takes upon themselves the responsibility to live by this provision. If they do not walk the talk they are deceivers and liars, I don’ care what they have painted themselves to be.

    • Dorothy Carroll

Thanks for your opinion as a Mormon. Some people object to Romney because of his church affiliation, I don’t consider that detrimental. I do object to his being middle-of-the-road RINO. Don’t feel we can survive 8 years of Obama Marxism, will vote for RINO if the only alternative, but I certainly can’t get enthused about him as a candidate.

    • nobama

Don’t believe for one moment that you are a mormon. The way you quote and rant it’s strictly NOT MORMON. Anybody who is Mormon knows that Mitt Romney has been called in to help on some VERY difficult projects, Salt Lake City Olympics, which would NEVER happen unless he was the best person to fix the problem, and he did. One thing is sure, he knows how to turn around huge corporations and he knows how to assemble qualified teams to help. He also has listened to what the PEOPLE wanted, when they wanted a state health plan, and he has also listened when people said they do NOT want a national plan. Face it, he simply is the most qualified to make the economic turn around this country needs AND he will LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE!

      • Dan Talbot

        Nobama, you are 100% correct.

  • pj powers

anyone that gore endorses is no friend of the people!

    • JC711

PJ, I FULLY agree. B U T, everyone on this site KNOWS in their heart, that Obama is WORSE, and will ALWAYS be WORSE than Romney.
I hope Romney does not get the nomination. If he does, I will vote for him. He is NOT as dangerous as BHO. B.Hussein MUST leave.

      • Michael

How true JC711, but aren’t you tired of voting for the “lesser of the two evils”? I certainly am. The Republicans haven’t had a real candidate since Ronald Reagan. We all need to get out and vote in the primary so we have to opportunity to vote FOR a candidate instead of voting against one. In 2008, I voted against Obozo more than I voted for McCain. Either way, we’d be screwed but, if McCain had won we would have been less screwed.

        • JC711

Yes, Michael, in this post- and one above, asking James to change his foolish stance of NOT voting – I stressed that Romney IS NOT our first choice, by any stretch of the imagination. And, YES ! I’d love to be able to vote FOR a fine candidate, rather than vote against one… HOWEVER, if it comes down to Obama vs Romney, it is our DUTY to vote against Obama. I’m trying, trying so very hard, to open the eyes of these stubborn ( well-intentioned, but deluded ) Patriots who think it’s better to NOT vote, than to vote for Romney. It is BETTER to vote Obama OUT ! He is dangerous. He is far more dangerous than Romney will ever be. So, IF IT COMES DOWN TO that duo, vote for R to get rid of BHO !!! By NOT voting BHO out, you are KEEPING him IN :(

    • Dorothy Carroll

Gore endorsement absolutely STINKS. Was probably done on purpose to discredit Romney.

    • Dan Talbot

how gullible you are! Does Romney welcome Gore’s endorsement. I wonder. Probably NOT. Romney has no control over who feigns an endorsement for crafty reverse-psychology purposes. It is pathetic you can’t see through it.

  • Steve

The gop failed us in the last election by choosing a candidate the grassroots supporters couldn’t or wouldn’t get behind, I hope the same mistakes not repeated by another RINO, “moderate” or social conseritive being chosen

    • Dan Talbot

as I said before, when Tom Tancredo droped out of the GOP race in 2008, Romney was the only one whom Tom considered to be conservative enough to win Tom’s unqualified endorsement. That certainly negates your pathetic attempt to paint Romney as a RINO (unless you feel Tancredo is a RINO, in which case there is no reasoning with you).

  • granolajoe

ENOUGH HYPOCRISY! Fire the ba$%#rd. Expose his liberalism in conservative clothing. We don’t need another Bush, McCain or any other turncoat.

    • http://yahoo Nancy

granoljoe ; I don’t quite understand your statement; you list all the ones you want to fire, and have included G.W. ;I think you are showing your ignorance , here.

G.W. is not in that category ; he was the last good president; we were $500,000,000
in debt; The Moos-lim imposter took office and said he would cut that in half , the first year.
But ; he lied ; O’bummer has spent more ,since being in office, than all the previous presidents, COMBINED , We are now $ 14,000,000,000 in debt .

Look at the numbers; do you see the difference ?

Try not to vote, so stupid , next time , do your homework, so I won’t have to call you a ( SHEEPLE ) again.
