When Do the Hits Stop Coming?

I am so angry at what I have seen over the weekend, that I just have to take a break from my “What It Means To Be Conservative” series and write about something more pressing.

Solyndra, Fast and Furious, the usurpation of the Constitution via Presidential (tyrannical) implementation of the so-called “Dream Act” – any single one of these scandals dwarfs Watergate in scope and consequence. Yet, the Republican lawmakers currently holding office seem completely impotent. Is there nothing that can be done to stop or at least slow down the blatant trashing of Obama’s Presidential oath? Obviously, the Democrats should not be expected to take any action. After all, they didn’t like the Constitution in the first place. The Democrats currently in Congress love the donation rich environment of the radical “green” movement. And in their minds it was worth the life of one border patrol agent as long as it allowed them to ship guns out of the U.S. and to Mexican drug lord. And what’s the Constitution when compared to 800,000 undocumented worker votes. (Since it is racist to check voter ID cards, what is to stop illegals from voting? And isn’t the “Justice” Department suing Florida for not keeping illegals on their voter rolls?)

I don’t know about our readers, but I for one have grown weary of news panel pundits, often joined by a government official or Republican politician, shaking their heads and agreeing with one another that Obama’s actions are “bad”. We all realize that the actions are bad on any number of levels. We don’t need panelists and politicians wielding toothless condemnations to tell us that. We want something DONE about it.

On the Sunday news shows I waited for SOME Republican Congressman, or perhaps Mitt Romney, to condemn Barack Obama’s institution of the Dream Act by Presidential declaration. However, all I saw was a bit of head wagging as if to say, “Oh, isn’t that frustrating that our President would stomp all over the Constitution.” Even Alan West, who I donate to and admire, didn’t offer any solution to use the power of the Legislative branch to stop this.

Of course, it doesn’t help that the sycophant media, derelict in their duty yet again, will not even report the story accurately, much less call into question the actions of their beloved. There is no need for this columnist to decry yet again the bias in the media or its inherent unfairness. That broken record has been played far too often. Bias in the media is now a given, no less a constant, no less a mathematical certainty, than the speed of light in a vacuum was for Mr. Einstein. But one would think that there would at least be a fraction of professional pride amongst “reporters”. One would think that a sliver of patriotism, of respect for the building blocks of the republic, would still exist somewhere in the White House press pool.

When Neil Munro of The Daily Caller did fire an appropriate question at the President (“Mr. President, is this decision {to legalize illegals} the ‘right thing to do’ for the American worker?”)The rest of the media apparently contemplated running the guy down with their cars!
When does this stop? When do these abuses add up to enough that someone in some position of authority actually does something about it? Do we still have impeachment proceedings in this nation? You may say that impeachment is premature in the case of Fast and Furious or even Solyndra, but the institution of the dream act is open lawlessness. The President of The United States took to the Rose Garden and announced to the world that he intended to break the law!

The House holds the authority to begin impeachment proceedings. The last time I checked, the Republicans hold the majority in the House. This nation shouldn’t wait till November and hope that the results of the election halt Barack Obama’s power grabs. The Republicans in Congress should begin to take action NOW.
