While Weiner Wept, DOJ Potentially Charged with Obstruction of Justice

I was going to entitle this article “Weinergate Distracts Attention Away from Major Breaking Story” but it’s a little long and not quite as catchy…
Two days ago Facebook icon/blogger ‘Ulster Man’ released an intriguing bit of news on his blog in which he said he received information from a “White House Insider” suggesting something major was about to happen in Washington. Ulster Man wrote:
“In a brief but informative update, our longtime D.C. insider tells of Democratic Party operatives joining with their Republican counterparts to ensure Barack Obama is a one-term president… A significant development is to be revealed regarding the DOJ very soon now. That is the information I have been given most recently.”
And Ulsterman’s ‘Insider’ wrote:
“Where we are at in all of this is now a fully integrated operation against Barack Obama’s re-election bid that includes both Democrats and Republicans… The powers now aligning against Obama are significant. They are motivated. And they are very-very serious about defeating Barack Obama.
Watch the news cycle closely over the next 72 hours. You may be in for a treat, and there will be more to come.”
Of course, once Rep. Anthony Weiner’s press conference began on Monday everyone assumed this was going to be the ‘major news’ Ulster Man was talking about.
It wasn’t.
While the entire world watched Weiner weep for the cameras about his probable porn addictions, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) filed subpoenas against the Department of Justice, potentially charging Eric Holder and company with Obstruction of Justice.
The reason, according to the Daily Caller, is because “the Obama administration still hasn’t complied with Issa’s requests for documents or a subpoena he issued on April 1. Before Attorney General Eric Holder appeared at a Judiciary Committee, DOJ supplied several documents that were already public.”
The DOJ also allowed Issa’s investigative team to “view several heavily redacted documents in DOJ headquarters, but wouldn’t allow his team to take them back to the committee for further inspection.”
The documents the DOJ provided were “so redacted you weren’t sure there was writing underneath.”
So on the day of Weinergate, Rep. Issa announced the June 13 hearings to examine whether DOJ is required to respond to a “lawfully issued and valid Congressional subpoena.”
This should have been front-page news but ironically CBS was the only major news source I could find that (barely) mentioned anything about it on Monday:
“The first in a series of Congressional hearings into the so-called ‘gunwalker’ scandal is set for Monday, June 13th. The title: ‘Obstruction of Justice: Does the Justice Department Have to Respond to a Lawfully Issued and Valid Congressional Subpoena?’”
And as of 4:00 p.m. PST, the only other major media source I can find reporting about this is Andrew Breitbart’s Big Peace. From an article called “Will Public Be Intentionally Distracted From Project Gunrunner Hearings?”, journalist Ben Barrack writes:
“Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), chairman of the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform is about to lower the boom with hearings – in phases – on the Project Gunrunner scandal, possibly as early as June 13th. This scandal blows the one involving Sestak out of the water and is looking more and more like Watergate with murder. Sipsey Street is quoting a source allegedly close to the investigation as saying he will be “surprised” if Attorney General Eric Holder doesn’t end up in “federal prison.”
How in the world is a news story that could potentially place Attorney General Eric Holder in federal prison not breaking news?
By ignoring the subpoena and requests for documents, Eric Holder and the Obama administration may be in for the biggest fight of their entire political careers thus far. (You would think a smart-guy lawyer like Holder would know better than to ignore a subpoena, but apparently not…)
Like the Weiner press conference on Monday, one can only imagine the distractions we will begin witnessing within the next few weeks.
“Here we are on the eve of a scandal that could very likely bring this administration crashing down if the truth comes out,” wrote Barrack. “Whistleblowers and informants are flooding the offices of both Issa and Republican Senator Charles Grassley with mountains of extremely devastating information about a plan to put guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. One of those guns was found at the murder scene of Border Agent Brian Terry.”
“It remains to be seen what will grab the headlines during Issa’s hearings into the Gunrunner scandal,” Barrack continues, “but one thing is for certain. The Obama administration absolutely wants this scandal nowhere near the front pages.”
Perhaps one of those distractions will be the launch of the second Gaza flotilla, aptly named ‘Audacity of Hope’ (after Obama’s book). It is scheduled to set sail on June 20—the week of the hearings. Since seven members of congress are also endorsing the Audacity, there’s a pretty good chance that the timing of this event will be nothing short of impeccable. ..
Regarding the Gunwalker/Gunrunner Scandal, Representative Darrell Issa has said, “We know that this Administration at the highest levels approved a process that allowed thousands of high powered weapons, basically AK-47s and M-16 look alikes, to go to the worst of the worst on both sides of the borders.”
“This was an operation approved in Washington,” Issa said. And yesterday, he added, “We have a slew of subpeonas that we expect to be issuing for people here in Washington.”
This is huge news, especially considering Obama and Holder are potentially having ‘loyalty’ problems within the White House.
The latest to jump ship is Austan Goolsbee, the new Chair of Obama’s Council on Economic Advisers. Goolsbee resigned this week, officially saying he wanted to return to his teaching position at the University of Chicago.
However, again from Ulster Man’s “Inside” source, “reports are suggesting that Goolsbee was increasingly at odds with the more numerous and left-leaning economic advisers within the Obama White House .”
Other top Obama team members who have left their posts within the past year are Lawrence Summers, Peter Orszag, Jared Bernstein, Robert Gibbs and Christina Romer. The only original Obama team member remaining is former Federal Reserve member Timothy Geithner.
So this has been a major news day—but you would never know by reading any of the major online news sources. Even now, when scrolling down my Facebook wall of over 5,000 friends, the main story I continue to see over and over is –you guessed it–Weinergate.
All I can say is stay tuned, stay focused and stay on your toes, folks. Keep in mind that for every whining Weiner story, something much more important may be hovering in the background.

This is huge! And no one’s talking about it in the MSM…including FOX.
Of course there won’t be anything concrete tying Obama to it but Holder is in this up to his neck. Obama will hard pressed to limit his guilt by association.
The effect on Obama will be determined in the court of public opinion not the courts. If this plays out as I hope it will, it could be the nail in Obama’s coffin.
I sure hope this is true (but I have learned just not to trust liberals for anything)-maybe they see him as the danger we have for quite some time. Maybe protecting the country means something to them after all! Let’s hope so.

What has been redacted from subpoenaed documents is the order from Obama to let as many guns as possible be transferred to Mexican cartels to increase the violence, so the Obama administration can use this increase in violence by American arms as a reason to push for more and complete gun control in the USA. I’ll bet right now that those unedited and uncensored documents will never see the light of day or justice. It amazes me, as Weinergate is a prime example, how any conservative even hints impropiety, suffers the consequence of the law or is forced to resign, yet the liberals are immune to our laws, and this will be proven by what happens to Eric Holder of the DOJ (what a laughable position for him to hold), the redactless documents being subpoenaed, and the exposure of Obama in the decision making on why and what happened.

Not too awful long ago I wrote about the Communist Party USA and their support for many of the identical principles endorsed by the Democrat Party here in the US. I listed the various similarities but now I have some even more honest words from the Communists themselves. He goes on to brag that among other things, “heightened class and democratic struggle…all have combined to produce an unprecedented situation – and opportunity.” How long have I been railing on against this Democrat Party effort to frame the current political debate as one of class? Clearly even the ones seeking to wage this struggle freely admit that is their effort and how said effort is an “opportunity” for them?

I have been raising h**l with my Congressman for 2 mos trying to give this thing more traction and when the Border agent was killed with one of the rifles they let go I was really pissed. I’m afraid to hope for too much yet. I think I’ll just wait and see what happens. I sincerely hope that they could bet Obama out forever. But right now I don’t know if this is a rumor or actual truth. Seems to me that if it were the truth they wouldn’t want anyone knowing since then Obama would know he was going to have to fight. while I agree with the article’s premise and my fellow bloggers, I do have a different opinion on what’s going on.
In my gut, I feel that the release of a Birth Certificate that hasn’t stood up to scrutiny has caught a lot of Democrats staring in the headlights.
They rightfully believe that it will be shown to be fraudulent by investigation and know Obama is toast.
It may not be proven fraudulent until AFTER the next election, and that would be worse than now.
They don’t want to go down with him and are looking for an exit.
The deal between Dems and GOP is probably going like this.
Dems: We will stop Obama from being re-elected if the GOP won’t use the BC before the elections.
GOP: A-OK.
And this BFTE scandal is going to get at LEAST Holder, if not Obama.
So the other part of the deal is to ONLY get Holder and leave Obama alone as a 1 term President. However, they do get to run another good candidate. It’s their only chance.
GOP: A-OK.
And what is the GOP getting besides Obama gone in 2012? HOLDER!
Now, don’t think for a second that this won’t become apparent to the Obama crowd before long. And I guarantee you, Obama WILL throw Holder under the bus before Obama even comes close to being behind bars, himself.

Finally, something that can get past Obama’s teflon shield. This is huge and if the GOP can shine the light on this and call it as it truly is, then Obama is done. I love the Dems and R’s getting in bed together with the common goal to get the worst president in the entire history of the US-out. This is why we should only elect people who are born in the US. I write to the White House, my Representative and my Senators 3-5 times a week, every week, without fail. Beleive it or not, I get replies from them most of the time too. And I’ve seen them vote how I want them to also, I bet because they heard from others who think like I do and want what I want done.

Our system isn’t perfect but, AS FOUNDED, it’s still a lot better than anything anyone else has come up with. Unfortunately we have strayed far off the path established for us in our Constitution and that is why we are in such trouble now. I wasn’t surprised at the fake BC (or the fraud involved), I have two points on this post – even if O-bum-uh had been born here, he became a citizen of Indonesia at age 0 when his mother married and Indonesian and gave up her citizenship to become an Indonesian citizen. O-bum-uh got US money as a foreign student, he used an Indonesian passport for travel to Egypt when he was in his 20′s and the only way to re-gain US citizenship if he had been born here would be to take an official Oath of Allegiance to the US Constitution and there would be a public record of that – I do not believe he ever did that – his allegiance lies elsewhere. Point number 2 – DO you know what O=bum-uh is doing now to bring US down??? When GWB was in office, the US mints were printing millions of $$ per month, mostly $1, 5, 10, 20 and a few $50′s; now O-bum-uh is printing 50-80 Trillion dollars per month- mostly $100′s. Do you think in our economy we are wearing out 58 – 80 million hundred dollar bills per month?? He is bankrupting America by devaluing the dollar by the hour. Mexico will not even accept US currency (law enacted Nov 2010) and will not exchange US money for Mexican currency for tourist unles you have a certain Mexican bank account); Saudi Arabia and other oil countries will not take US currency; Amsterdam will not accept US $$, and the International Monetary Fund has been considering removing the US dollar as the standard for 2 years and any day they will remove the dollar and NO Country will take our US currency – we have nothing to back up the paper with. It is all documented. So folks, Wall STreet will crash and burn, the US will not be able to get oil, food, etc from abroad, etc. Some folks are putting up food and water for a few months duration until things settle – but I believe O=bum-uh is goign to have the wealthy oil countries run by his muslim brotherhood, step in and control the country.
