George McClellan is an Army veteran and a retired Special Agent of the NCIS. He has 35-year background in law enforcement including five years with the California Highway Patrol and one year with the International Police Task Force in the former Yugoslavia, and local law enforcement. He is an amateur historian, bagpiper, motorcyclist, and world traveller. George is a member of the Robert Burns Club of Atlanta, Ga.,The Burns World Federation, The St. Moritz Toboggan Club, Assoc. of Former Intelligence Officers, and a Fellow with the Scottish Society of Antiquities. He travels extensively and writes about his travels throughout Europe and America. He is also a published author of a historical biography of Robert McClellan, Indian fighter, trapper and explorer, and an “Astorian” one who discovered the South Pass in Wyoming that later became the Oregon Trail. McClellan and family moved to Georgia from the United Kingdom in 1987 and retired from service at NAS Atlanta, Marietta, Ga. in 1990. He and his wife have resided in Ellijay, Ga. since 1999, where they are active in community projects. He is currently Chairman of the Gilmer Co. Republican Party. They have two sons, the oldest a graduate of the Citadel, Charleston, S.C and a Lt.Col. US Army Special Forces, combat veteran and their youngest son is a computer soft wear engineer graduate from Southern Tech (Poly). They have three grand children.
