Apparently acting in a movie about mental health makes you an expert on mental health. Or at least Bradley Cooper seems to think so.
The “Silver Linings Playbook” star along with his director David O. Russell met with Vice President Joe Biden yesterday to discuss mental health.
The two were most likely chosen from the large pool of Hollywood political enthusiasts because mental health is the theme of critically acclaimed film
Russell was inspired to make the movie about a bipolar man after watching his own son deal with bipolar disorder.
“It’s very personal to me. My son, I’ve been through this with my son and his friend, and that’s why I did the movie,” Russell told The Hollywood Reporter. “So when it’s personal, you know that you’re coming from the right place. You’re not coming from a reckless place. You’re coming from a very careful place. I’m 18 years deep with this kid, so I’m very invested in him and his friends.”
