Not a smidgen of corruption.
In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) said former IRS official Lois Lerner broke the law by failing to back up the e-mails the IRS has said were lost in a computer crash.
When CNN anchor Candy Crowley asked him whether or not Lerner crashed her computer purposefully, Issa said that we’ll “probably never know” but that the information gained from e-mails that were recovered demonstrates that the ex-IRS official did indeed violate laws.
“She broke some regulations, she broke some laws,” explained the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. “She sent, trying to get prosecution apparently, she sent 1.1 million tax records over to the Department of Justice including inappropriate, or actually illegal, 6103 disclosures on behalf of conservative groups.”
