With the recent 2014 election one would hope that change is really on the horizon, but the vote for a CR Omnibus budget during the lame duck session once again proves the DC elites are cut from the same cloth and opposed to any change that will challenge their power base. By passing the budget bill the old effectively neutered the new Senate and House members until September or the new fiscal year. For all the Speaker of the house promised, he did nothing but deliver a bill to the president that not only funded Obamacare, illegals, pet projects, and out of control spending, he claimed it was all in the name of avoiding a shutdown. Personally I feel the government works most efficiently during a shutdown as they don’t create any more problems for us working stiffs. The GOP got majorities in the House in 2010 and the House and Senate in the last election because of the resounding response against the president and his policies. Yet Boehner, McConnell, McCain and all the other establishment types, in the spirit of cooperation, are giving the administration everything it wants. They are also on the war path to rid the GOP of conservatives and Tea Party types, even though it was conservatives and Tea Party types that delivered majorities to both houses. The majorities were not delivered based on wanting more establishment or GOP policies but rather because voters are fed up with progressive ideas and policies. The progressive ideology in DC is like a cancer that has infected the whole body and needs removed if the House and Senate are to survive. Progressives in both parties are so accustomed to lying that they tell the American people what they are going to do and then do just the opposite. To make matters worse the GOP continues to ignore the conservative base and push for a more moderate progressive ideology. All that has got them was a loss with Dole, McCain, and Romney and the losses will continue to pile up if they run Jeb or Romney again. The middle looks the same whatever party you’re in, and the GOP desire to be Democrat lite will bring about a third party. Is there a Reagan conservative out there?
The politicians in Washington DC who proclaim there are two parties are as big a bunch of phonies as the mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, (born Warren Wilhelm, Jr.). See Wilhelm knew he could not get elected to much anything in New York without being a bonafide Italian so he changed his name, not his bad policies, to his mother’s maiden name and the voters elected a disaster. Now Mayor Wilhelm spouts one thing to the media but creates problems by his actions, decisions, and alliances. In the same way talk is cheap in DC where we have GOP senators and congressman say one thing but create new problems by their actions, decisions, and alliances as they push a progressive agenda down our throats. Over 60% of the voters did not want Obamacare but Boehner funded it. No surprise over 60% did not want Boehner as the Speaker, but the newly elected did what the rest of DC does, ignored their constituents.
The current GOP, not unlike their Democratic counterparts, has no problem with spending money, or surrendering the power of the purse. Under Boehner the debt has grown by more than four trillion dollars, we still have no answers on Fast and Furious, IRS intimidation, or NSA spying which can only mean he supports them or has cut a deal. Also under his leadership the establishment GOP does not respect the constitution, welcomes open borders, Obamacare, crushing conservatives, the gay agenda, big government, using the military as a bill payer, and making military retires pay more than their fair share. Boehner is quick to say one thing on camera then go cut a deal with the president in between tanning sessions. So what is the difference between the GOP and DNC? There is no difference. They have become one giant Washington aristocracy bent on being the DC ruling monopoly. They are nothing more than the get re-elected party and seem to have no interest in statesmanship or service. The current class of rulers in DC obviously missed George Washington’s ideology that great leaders are willing to walk away from power rather than doing everything to hold on to it. In today’s political environment the quest for absolute power is like a cancer that slowly takes over politicians until it overcomes them and they die. Rather than serve their constituents, they do all they can to serve themselves. Boehner was going to serve one term, but the corruption of DC power had him fight hard to secure a third term, and those who opposed him will surely pay.
The quest to hold on to power is seen in the vindictive retaliation on Capitol Hill, in Arizona, and by the senate majority leader against those who challenge the power structure, mainly conservatives and Tea Party constitutionalists. As stated before Democrats are good at winning elections and the GOP is good at defeating conservatives. The current ruling class is a failure! This is demonstrated by their destructive social policies, the debt, and their failure to stimulate the economy by turning American ingenuity and entrepreneurship loose.
Airline pilots are not allowed to work beyond age 65 because according to the US government they are no longer capable of making sound on-the-spot decisions. Why can’t we apply that train of thought to the establishment politicians who have overstayed their welcome or usefulness in DC? If not term limits how about age limits to stem the senility parade of pick pockets posing as senior statesmen.
Louie Gohmert from Texas stated that he serves two masters, His Lord and Savior and his constituents that sent him to DC. Wouldn’t it be great if the GOP and DNC understood that?
