It felt so odd when I first started voting for Republicans toward the end of President Reagan’s second term. I’d once been a public relations and campaign consultant for Democrats, a civil rights activist who helped elect the first black mayor of Atlanta, a campaign designer and manager who launched the career of the first woman to lead the fourth largest city in America. Although it had never been my plan to do so, I’d even served in public office myself after winning a campaign for mayor of a town in which I’d live for just a year. I won a majority of votes, defeating six candidates without a run-off, something almost unheard of.

Glenn Beck’s remarkable rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial Saturday was a wake-up call for his beloved America. This nation, he reminded us, is and has been since its founding a nation under God. Failure to recognize our absolute dependence upon God, he said, has put this nation in peril.

Glenn Beck, Alveda King and others have been stepping on media eggshells and breaking new ground by mentioning God and saying that God is an important part of the solution to this nation’s and its individual’s problems. I totally agree with them. Even Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity give God a mention as important every once in a while.

If anyone has any doubts about what these people think of us and our country, check out these pictures taken by an acquaintance of mine who went to the rally in Phoenix Saturday 7/31/10 in response to SB 1070. The illegals had written all over the AZ and US Flags, laid them on the ground, and were walking on them! (I don't remember seeing this on any network or cable news programs.)

The shocking discovery of 72 murdered Hispanic migrants on a ranch just south of the U.S. border should be a wakeup call to all Americans that the security of our beloved nation begins at home. Here in Arizona we have seen firsthand the bloody consequences of the crime and violence being imported by criminal aliens across our borders. Peaceful Phoenix has been transformed into the kidnapping capital of America.

Roger Ebert is America’s most noted film reviewer. He has been described by Forbes as “the most powerful pundit in America.” He is known for his long-running film review column that first appeared Chicago Sun-Times in 1967. Television audiences know him best as the co-host with Gene Siskel of the television programs “Sneak Previews,” “At the Movies with Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert,” and “Siskel and Ebert and The Movies.” The pair had a 23 year run ended by Siskel’s cancer death in 1999.

It’s almost as if President Obama’s agenda includes provoking anger at himself. And it’s not just Republicans he’s provoking. It’s just about anybody who crosses his path, even his party’s deranged left wing.

Pakistan is an Islamic nation of about 35 Million that has been hit by flooding from monsoons affecting as many as 20 Million Pakistanis and 1/5^th of the country, having created incomprehensible havoc to a nuclear power that is already failing in its struggle to control and eliminate Al Qaeda.
