Patriot Update - A Free Press for the Conservative Revolution

The misnamed American Civil Liberties Union or ACLU is an organization on a mission, and that mission is not about protecting liberty for Americans. In spite of its name, the ACLU is anti-American, uncivil, and determined to undermine liberty. In fact, the ACLU’s mission is to reduce the freedom and liberty of a substantial number of American citizens—Christians and conservatives—and transform America into a secular nation governed according to the principles of moral relativism. In the process, the ACLU hopes to remove every hint of America’s Christian heritage from the public square while simultaneously undermining the Constitutional foundation of our country.

The ACLU was founded approximately 90 years ago for the express purpose of transforming America in ways that would undermine Christian and conservative values and remove Christian symbols, principles, and teaching in from the public square. Ultimately, the ACLU hopes to transform American into a communist nation. What follows are the words of Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU:

“I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.” (1)

During the 90 years of its existence, the ACLU has “distinguished” itself by using an increasingly liberal judiciary to protect such practices as child pornography and same-sex marriages while attacking Christian values and the original intent of the Constitution.

The ACLU is one of the left’s most effective weapons for attacking everything that is sacred to Christians and conservatives. Most readers of PatriotUpdate need no reminder of the anti-Christian, anti-American activities of the ACLU. In fact, monitoring the nefarious activities of the left and keeping patriotic Americans informed of these activities is one of the goals of PatriotUpdate. The purpose of this article is to explain how readers can fight back against the ACLU by reading PatriotUpdate and supporting another organization—the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF). ADF has been described as the Christian conservative’s answer to the ACLU.

The (ADF) not only monitors the activities of the ACLU, it fights back on behalf of Americans who still believe that the Constitution is the law of the land. What follows are some of the anti-Christian, anti-conservative cases initiated by the ACLU in which the ADF came to the rescue:

• Sued a Louisiana school board for allowing prayer at a local event. An ACLU official claimed that those who allowed the prayer should be “removed from society.”

• Opposed federal legislation that would protect the phrase “one nation under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.

• Opposed federal funding of faith-based groups as an attempt to subsidize religion using tax dollars.

• Sued the state of Nebraska to overturn its Constitutional Amendment protecting traditional marriage.

• Sued the state of Wisconsin to force its prison system to provide federally-funded hormone therapy for transsexual prisoners.

• Threatened to shut down a Gospel concert sponsored by the Franklin County Children’s Services to promote the adoption of foster children.(2)

Just the threat of intervention by the ACLU can scare some organizations into taking egregiously un-Constitutional actions. For example, a high school student in Wisconsin was disciplined for including the words, “John 3:16—A Sign of Love” in a painting for his art class. Not even attempting to cover up its anti-Christian, un-Constitutional bias, the teacher gave the student a failing grade while praising another student who included a grotesque demon’s face in his painting. Attacks on freedom and liberty such as this are frightening. The good news is that the Constitution is on the side of patriotic Americans who love freedom and liberty, and the ADF is very effective at using the Constitution to fight back against the ACLU’s tyrannical attacks on these sacred concepts.
