Lost in the adoring mainstream media reports of Al Sharpton’s actions since the death of Michael Brown is the professional bigot’s absence from yesterday’s funeral of Akai Gurley.

Gurley, the 28-year-old Black Man who lost his life in a pitch-black public housing complex stairwell in East New York, Brooklyn, was shot dead by a supposedly accidental gun discharge of an NYPD Officer.

Sharpton announced that he was to give the eulogy for the service but Gurley’s mom told the racial agitator to stay away.

Gurley’s Aunt complained to TMZ;

But Gurley’s aunt, Hertenceia Peterson — who is speaking for his mom — tells TMZ, “Al Sharpton came in, put his name on the situation, but has not even made one single call to the parents to Akai.”

Peterson says all Sharpton sees “is money and political gain and that he is turning the tragedy into a circus.”

And told the NY Post:

“It’s been a nightmare,” Gurley’s aunt, Hertencia Petersen, told The Post. “He just wants to take credit for this when he’s never even contacted my sister [Gurley’s mother].”

“Who made you the spokesperson of our family? We just want to bury our nephew with dignity and respect.”
