I don’t understand all the feigned indignation by liberals over the most recent episode of ignoring the law. Most Americans don’t even know about the Nevada ranch incident last week as only FOX news covered the armed standoff between the US government and ranchers. The Standoff at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada has Harry Reid saying “Well, it’s not over. We can’t have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it’s not over,” Interesting words when you have a senate majority leader who has been steeped in accusations of lawlessness, who violated election law by using campaign funds to buy jewelry from his granddaughter, saying we need to pay attention to the law. Reid is the same senator who has done nothing to find out the truth about Fast and Furious and who at Justice was involved, and he has done nothing to get to the bottom of the IRS nonprofit intimidation scandal. He’s done nothing to get to the bottom of the lawless crowds that attacked the consulate in Benghazi and killed four Americans, and he certainly was not interested in getting to the bottom of the cover up, lies and deceptions surrounding the terrorist attack. He did not seem to care or to seek swift justice for those shot by Maj Hasan during his terrorist attack at Fort Hood. I wonder if the lack of response played into the attack this year. He also could care less about how the president and AG ignore the laws they don’t like and decide what part of other laws they will enforce. All this said, it is almost comical that he would even dare make a statement about Americans that violate the law, unless this is an admission that the president is not an American. I guess what the senator meant to say is that if a conservative violates the law we can’t allow it. In February Senator Cruz stated that “there is a “pattern of lawlessness” underway by the Obama administration that is truly “breathtaking,” and it should concern everyone. He also stated that “those on the left who are willing to excuse the president’s lawlessness and disregarding federal law, there will come another president… of the other party.”
As far as Mr. Bundy ignoring the law, the real question is, if the top two law enforcers don’t enforce all laws, ignore some and choose the parts of others they like, are we as Americans required to live by the law or do we have the luxury of blowing off the ones we don’t care for as well? Leadership by example would say we don’t have to obey the law either.
Interesting that Obama is trying to be known as a golfing president, goof off would be more appropriate. A friend after seeing him golf said it is good entertainment to watch as he is beyond poor, but not a surprise after seeing how he throws a baseball. I don’t know what he sees in golf since in the game of golf there are absolutes. Your score is dependent upon how well you play not anyone else, I.E. your success is earned not given to you. It doesn’t matter how long you have been on the tour, or how good a guy you are, if you don’t win or finish high you don’t get paid. There is no redistribution of wealth and even more interesting is that when you do something wrong, you own up to it, take the penalty, don’t blame it on someone or something else, even if it means losing an event. I am surprised he thinks it is OK for someone to win more than one time in a year or to have multiple victories at the same event, all without government help. I wonder what his approach to the rules of golf is. After all, they are enforced by an honor system where you have to play by all the rules and there is no gray area, but he probably just blows off those rules also?
The other question that the Bundy standoff brings up is if Democrats and progressives are so uptight about firearms and people owning them, and the lawlessness they cause, why are all these government agencies showing up with armed law enforcement officers of their own? Why do agencies with little to do with crime fighting have active law enforcement operations in their agency? Why does the BLM, Forest Service, IRS, Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Department of the Interior, EPA, NOAA, NASA, Government printing office, National institutes of Health, FEMA Postal Service to name a few need all these armed law enforcement officials? According to estimates there are 25,000 sworn law enforcement officers in departments that are not associated with fighting crime and another 3,812 criminal investigators that are not associated with Treasury, Justice or DHS. One has to ask is this Obama’s personal Army, he talked about.
This would explain why progressives are in such a rush to infringe upon law abiding American citizen’s 2nd amendment rights and disarm them. This would also explain why the Federal government is buying up so much ammunition as they made it clear to the protesters in Nevada stating “we have the authority to shoot you.” I am glad there was no bloodshed as it appears this administration is trying to provoke an armed conflict among the citizenry with all his devise rhetoric and over armed agencies. One positive event during the standoff is that the Federal government showed they can build a border fence pretty darn quick when they want to; however, this one was to keep Americans out. Even though ranchers were tempted to Lock and load, the liberal lawlessness was shut down as they heeded the advice seen on the British subway signs to” Stay Calm.” Hopefully it’s not before the storm.
