Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Sunday said it is not in President Obama’s nature to “pal around” with members of Congress.

When asked if it makes getting the job done harder, Manchin said “it makes it more difficult.”

“You know, it’s hard to say ‘no’ to a friend,” Manchin said of Obama’s difficulty to foster compromise in the House or Senate. “When you build that relationship and that friendship, you are looking for ways to try to work things out and find a compromise.”
