NBC is planning a four-hour miniseries about Hillary Clinton, network executives announced Saturday.
Actress Diane Lane is set to play the former first lady in the biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Former President Bill Clinton has not yet been cast.
The miniseries will cover Hillary Clinton’s life from 1998 — the year of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — through the present day, according to the report.
Executives said the project will include the possibility of Clinton running for president in 2016, but will air before Clinton would likely announce a run, to avoid equal-time concerns.
The chairman of NBC Entertainment, Bob Greenblatt, waded into political controversy about 10 years ago by electing to air on Showtime a controversial miniseries about Ronald and Nancy Reagan.
