With the Willis Tower visible in the distance against a backdrop of clear blue sky, President Barack Obama set off for Mexico on Sunday aboard Air Force One at the conclusion of a weekend spent in his hometown with family and friends.
The president arrived atO’Hare International Airportvia helicopter about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and waved to members of the press corps before boarding his plane.
It was the first time in two years that the Obamas visited Chicago as a family, staying at their Kenwood home, and the president spent most his time out of public view.
On Saturday, Obama, wife Michelle and daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 11, made the short jaunt to the home of friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett for the wedding of her daughter. Laura Jarrett married fellow Harvard Law grad Tony Balkissoon.
