BORN TO LIE: New Book Released on President Obama's birth certificate and other Issues of Transparency and Trust
The most important asset an American president can have is not a majority in Congress, not a strong military, and not even a vibrant economy. As important as these factors are, there is one that is even more important: the trust of the American people. Seeming to understand this, Barack Obama ran for president on a platform of transparency. He promised that his administration would be an open book. Now, less than a year into his presidency, Barack Obama has not only broken many of his specific campaign promises, he has broken his big promise of transparency. In fact, he has established a disturbing pattern of saying one thing while running for office but doing another once elected. This is why my co-author, Archie Jones, and I decided to write this book.
Born to Lie is about a man of interesting, ironic, and sometimes disturbing contradictions: Barack Obama. On one hand, he is the first African-American ever elected President of the United States, but on the other hand he may not even be eligible to serve in that office. As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama promised the American people an administration that would be open and transparent, but as president he has shown himself to be capable of both secrecy and deceit. As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama promised to be a president of the people, but as president he has shown himself to be capable of blatant imperiousness.
As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama promised to help bridge the racial divide in America, but as president he has shown a propensity for practicing the concept of racialism. As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama promised to be a post-partisan leader, but as president he has used his Congressional majority to steamroll the opposition party and the millions of Americans it represents. As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama promised to raise taxes on only the wealthiest citizens, but as president he has already floated trial balloons on tax hikes for the middle class. As an individual Barack Obama seems to be well liked, but as president his polices are not.
Born to Lie is about the controversy surrounding Barack Obama’s eligibility to serve as President of the United States as well as numerous other issues of transparency and trust including healthcare, the economy, the military, foreign policy, socialism, entitlement, and America’s Christian heritage. It is about promises made during the presidential campaign but broken after the election. It is about arrogance, imperiousness, deceit, cover-ups, and obfuscation in the Oval Office. In addition, it is about mean-spirited attacks by President Obama’s supporters—aided and abetted by the press and media—on Americans who exercise their Constitutional right of dissent and their civic responsibility to question this president.
Questions Explored in this Book
We based our research for Born to Lie on five questions we think should be asked by Americans about President Obama. We believe that these are the kinds of questions the press and media would ask and expect satisfactory answers to if the President were not their chosen son. We also believe that these are questions that should be asked in the interest of the Democratic process, journalistic ethics, the rule of law, and the integrity of the Constitution. One chapter is devoted to each of the following questions:
Barack Obama raised his right hand, swore an oath, and became President of the United States at a critical juncture in America’s history. When he took office, our country was engaged in an on-going war on terrorism, we were dependent for oil on nations that despise everything we hold most dear, our economy was in its worst condition since the Great Depression, race relations were tense at best, and enemies bent on our destruction were circling like sharks. There have been few times in the history of our nation when strong leadership, a clear vision, unprecedented transparency, and unquestionable trust have been more badly needed. Instead, with President Obama, America got arrogance, deceit, and broken promises in domestic affairs and in foreign affairs we got apologies, naivety, and a weakened military.
Being the first African-American elected as President of the United States is an accomplishment of historic significance and monumental proportions, one of which all Americans—supporters of Obama as well as opponents—should be proud. But the historical significance of his election, as important as it is, will not pull our country out of the economic doldrums in which we are stuck. Nor will it win the support of our allies or the respect of our enemies. President Obama entered the Oval Office facing a number of major tests, tests he must pass for the good of our country. Credibility, trustworthy character, a realistic understanding of the nature of man, a sound knowledge of American history, and adherence to Godly principals would enable President Obama to pass the tests. Unfortunately for America, President Obama is failing these tests.
