9/11: Elephants Remember, Jackasses Forget

By: Brandon Vallorani

Can you believe that eight years have passed since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001? Most Americans remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when the news of the attacks broke. For a short time, Americans forgot what divided them and came together with a renewed sense of patriotism and faith. American flags flew across the nation and churches were filled with people looking to God for answers. America, under the leadership of President George W. Bush, began to fight back against international terrorism.

Over time, however, life got back to “normal” and people forgot what we were fighting for. The mainstream media, run by wealthy elitist Democrats, undermined the efforts of our troops to keep the tragedy of 9/11 from ever happening here again. As the political winds shifted, Democratic senators and congressmen who voted to support President Bush on the War on Terror, quickly turned their backs on their country for a chance to regain power in Washington.

Today, our Democrat president has promised to release terrorists from GITMO (the detention center at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay). He’s also traveled the globe apologizing for America to nations that have harbored terrorists and that hate our way of life. During Obama’s campaign for President, his wife admitted that she was not proud of her country most of her adult life. Do the Democrats realize that the freedom to criticize our great nation was guaranteed by the blood of our brave soldiers over the past 233 years?

Rather than remembering our fellow citizens who lost their lives on 9/11, BarackObama.com recently featured an article encouraging supporters to celebrate 9/11 as “Health Care Organizing Day.”

Even worse, the article went on urging Obama’s supporters to make phone calls on 9-11 to fight back against "Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists." Here's an excerpt:

All 50 States are coordinating in this -- as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic Process, whipped into a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders.

Thanks to the efforts of The Heritage Foundation for exposing what Obama and his team were doing, the web page shown at right was deleted (click to enlarge).

While I am not always happy with members of the Republican Party, especially turncoats like Arlen Specter and Tom Ridge, the party as a whole loves America and will never forget 9/11. I am convinced, however, that extreme leftwing elements of the Democratic Party have forgotten and have led many of our citizens to believe that we are the bad guys, not the terrorists.

One of my favorite songs is performed by Country Music Artist, Darrel Worley. As we remember this day, please pray for the families who lost love ones in the terror attacks and soldiers in the War on Terror. Then, take a moment to read the words of “Have you forgotten:”

I hear people saying we don't need this war
But, I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it everyday
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
Well, after 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And we vowed to get the one’s behind bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting for

Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yeah, some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry about bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
