Senator Rand Paul confirmed that he is considering a presidential run in 2016 but said that he would not make a final decision before next year.
His admission came on Wednesday under the pretense of saying that he would like to help shape the public debate.
‘I want to be part of the national debate. Whether I run or not, being considered is something that allows me to have, I think, a larger microphone,’ he said at a breakfast held by the Christian Science Monitor on Wednesday.
‘We’re considering it. We won’t make a decision before 2014.’
