Everyone coming to our country needs to realize that our national colors are red, white and blue and if they are offended by those colors then don’t come to America. If refugees are offended by patriotic Americans, then don’t come to America or go back home. If refugees are offended by representations of the American flag, then either don’t come to America or go back home.

That would be my response to refugees who claimed to be offended by fellow students wearing red, white and blue and representations of the American flag.

Is it wrong to express one’s patriotism by saying that refugees and illegals should be deported or that they do not belong in our country? After seeing the damage, physically, culturally, socially and economically that illegal aliens have had on America, don’t American citizens have a right to speak up? After seeing the damage done by terrorists hiding amongst refugees in Europe, give American’s the right to express their concerns for our national security and safety?

Doesn’t the First Amendment give Americans the right to express their opinions or views on such subjects?

Evidently NOT if you attend a public school!

Last week, students at Valley High School in Des Moines, Iowa wore the patriotic colors and representations to a high school basketball game. Their opponent was North High School. Valley High School is largely white and North High School is more racially diverse with a number of refugee students, some of which play on the school’s basketball team.

As the North High School team took the court, the patriotic clad Valley High students began waving American flags and chanting ‘deport them’ and several other comments that were reported as being rude and offensive.

The patriotic display by the Valley High students was considered to be offensive to the refugee students and liberals from North High.

Morgan Wheat, the assistant coach at North High commented:

“Any normal person, any educated person can look at that and think ‘What the hell are these kids thinking?’”

Many liberals took to Facebook and other social media, accusing the Valley High students of not being patriotic but being ‘rude, racist and ignorant’. One person posted:

“What they did was AGAINST the flag and what it stand for.”

Is it against the flag to defend your country and want to keep it safe? What’s so unpatriotic about not wanting refugees and illegals in your community after seeing what’s happened to so many other communities?

Valley High student leaders, most likely at the strong urging of school officials, issued an apology that was printed in the Des Moines Register and read:

To the Students and Staff of North High School:

It has been brought to our attention that the decision by the Valley High School student section to wear U.S.A. apparel at our game last night was offensive to members of your community and fan base. We are deeply sorry if we have offended anyone in any way. We have traditionally dressed in such a fashion for great games such as the one last night. Everyone here at Valley has immense respect not only for your team and players but for your community as a whole. Please know that our intent was in no way to offend or demean—just to support our own team in a way we have done before.

Congratulations on a wonderful season and we wish you nothing but the best of luck in the future.

Sadly, this is one a growing number of incidents where public schools have shown their support for the liberal ideology over patriotic students and America. They are bending over backwards for people, whom might pose a danger or threat to the American way of life or our safety while chastising and apologizing for patriotic American citizens.
