Mitt Romney‘s presidential campaign raised $18.25 million in the last three months, his campaign announced Wednesday, firmly establishing the former Massachusetts governor as the Republican front-runner not only in the polls but also in the 2012 GOP money race.
But his total take for the second quarter fell short of early boasts from some fund-raisers. More than half the total — $10 million — came from a single day of dialing for dollars in Las Vegas this spring. The total could be a fresh enticement for Texas Gov. Rick Perry to enter the race soon.
