Conservative talk show host Michael Savage is offering former House Speaker Newt Gingrich $1 million to drop out of the presidential race “for the good of the nation,” calling Gingrich “unelectable.”
“While it’s true that Romney is not as strong a conservative as many would like him to be, the most pressing issue before America today is defeating Barack Obama,” Savage said in a press release. “And that is something Newt Gingrich cannot do.”
Savage cited Gingrich’s climate change ad with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the money he took from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, his past infidelity and his “right-wing social engineering” comment about Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan. Savage also faulted Gingrich for failing to implement portions of his original Contract with America and for supporting “amnesty” for illegal immigrants.
