The state of Texas has appealed the rejection of its voter ID law to the Supreme Court, following yesterday’s decision by a panel of federal judges in D.C.

In their decision, which I wrote about on the homepage yesterday, the judges said Texas’s law — which is considered a “strict” photo ID law, and requires voters to present a photo ID issued by the state or the U.S. government in order to vote — disproportionately affected low-income and minority voters.
