America is going through a dark time. To anyone with sense, it’s clear that the principles that once defined our nation — personal liberty, individual pursuit of happiness, reliance on God, dedication to preserving the legitimate rights of mankind, devotion to education, moral strength and the ideal of excellence — have been co-opted by men and women who have used their power and wealth to transform our nation into a Marxist state and reduce our people to a future of virtual slavery.
Many of us conservatives have been talking for years about the need to renew the country and revive those founding principles found in the Constitution, the Declaration and the spirit of those Colonials who threw off the yoke of British oppression to transform themselves into Americans.
But at some point, as the saying goes, the rubber has to meet the road.
Is now that time?
Larry Klayman, the outspoken founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, has announced a plan to go to Washington, D.C., on November 19 and escort President Obama from office. He’s hoping that the disgruntled right, we of the long complaints, will join him and answer the question “you and what army?”
OK, patriots. It’s gut check time.
Klayman, who isn’t known to be clinically insane, says that demonstrators will model their invasion after the tactics of Gandhi and “peacefully shut the city down, by blocking roads and massing in front of the White House chanting for Obama to get out of our nation’s capital.”
He also hopes to put victims of Obama’s policies on stage across from the White House, including those who have lost loved ones because of the president’s decisions.
Klayman said: “I call upon millions of Americans who have been appalled and disgusted by Obama’s criminality – his Muslim, socialist, anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, anti-white, pro-illegal immigrant, pro-radical gay and lesbian agenda – among other outrages, to descend on Washington, D.C., en masse, and demand that he leave town and resign from office if he does not want to face prison time.”
Klayman may not be just out on a limb. The Founding Fathers weren’t exactly shy about standing up to ol’ King George or calling for armed rebellion.
In fact, Thomas Jefferson was well-known for his feelings that acts of rebellion were necessary to keep a nation’s spirit honest and alive. That attitude was shared by the other Founding Fathers and made it into the Declaration of Independence:
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
Young people today don’t understand the radical daring of the Declaration, nor the philosophical and theological depth its assertions are based upon. Schools don’t have any interest in teaching kids that rights come from God rather than the state, or that people have the right to oppose the state, much less the duty to overthrow it when it becomes oppressive.
All the efforts to keep God out of schools, to dumb down and rewrite history, to turn people into unthinking idiots, have had as one of the chief aims preventing people from realizing that they, not the state, have the final say in how the country is run. The people in power, people like President Obama, want to create a pliant, weak-willed, powerless permanent underclass.
And they will succeed, unless they are stopped.
The many of the abuses listed for King George in the Declaration read like a checklist for the Obama Administration:
- “He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.” How about those executive orders blocking investigation of the Fast and Furious scandal.
- “He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.” Obamacare, anyone?
- “He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to civil power.” And he’s militarized police and federal agencies across the country.
Anyone who joins Klayman will be calling down the thunder. The federal government already has the capability to snoop on all Americans, all the time (and probably does). It’s also known that this Administration goes after its enemies, even imagined ones.
How likely is it that participants in an actual rebellion will get a pass?
Like I said, gut check.
In the end, conservatives need to ask ourselves what we are prepared to do to save our country.
