This week the NYT reported that their internal investigation of Benghazi showed that al-Qaeda really wasn’t a factor in the September 11, 2012 attacks on Benghazi that killed four Americans, including our Ambassador to Libya. The report also lent some credence to the idea that the Youtube video, Innocence of Muslims, was at the root of the anger and the attacks. Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) has a scathing retort delivered with a full measure of logic. Video and partial transcript below. Read background on the NYT report designed to give Hillary a scrubbing, here. Note that the author, David D. Kirkpatrick stepped out early, following the Obama-Clinton-Rice line that the video was to blame. Now he’s dancing as fast as he can.
PERINO: Congressman, what do you think the New York Times got wrong?
GOWDY: Well, first of all I want to congratulate the NYT. It only took 15 months for them to figure out how to spell Benghazi, so maybe in another 15 months their report will actually catch up with the truth.
