Billionaire businessman Donald Trump dined with Texas Gov. Rick Perry Wednesday night in New York City. The following day, Trump praised presidential candidate “Jim” Perry and said he was “impressed with him.”
Trump, who toyed with running in the Republican primary earlier this year, also said that he would run as an independent candidate for president if Republicans chose “the wrong candidate” and if the country’s economic situation did not improve.
One candidate who he has not met with is Texas Rep. Ron Paul, but Trump volunteered, “I like Ron Paul very much.”
