Our right to privacy is being violated even at this very moment by our Federal Government. You and I as citizens of this once great country, the United States of America, have a right to our privacy. It is stated in the 4th Amendment of the constitution of these the United States, and I quote: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Today all Americans without individual warrant are having the seizure of their private effects. I am a Verizon customer and who I call, or who calls me, or who I text, or who sends me a text, is in my opinion one of my private effects. Is this not an example of the abuse of the writ of assistance? A writ of assistance is a type of general search warrant. It was the abuse of writs of assistance prior to the Revolutionary War which fueled the rebellion against the British Government. Surely this current violation will fuel the unrest and feed a sense of a need to rise up and restore our freedoms, a patriotic feeling even now sweeping our country. Speaking of sweeping; there needs to be a deep cleaning of the bureaucrats in Washington.

On the 25th of April of this year, the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court) granted the government an unlimited authority for the duration of three months the obtaining of data. This writ of assistance ends on July 19th of this year. During this time period phone numbers of both parties, location data, call duration, unique identifiers, and the time the calls were made are handed over to the government. The content of our conversations supposedly are not included in the data gathered.

Many will see this as a continuation of George Bush’s Patriot Act. However this is not at all like what happened under Bush. This is more in depth and includes domestic calls. This is of everyone and is a daily monitoring of our personal lives. This is not a monitoring of only calls to foreign countries by suspected terrorists. This is a monitoring of you and me, us normal law abiding citizens. The information they gather about us will be used by the current administration for the advancement of their current agenda of oppressing the Great Republic of the United States. We are losing our freedoms.

Our phone data is no longer private. Our e-mail data is also no longer private. What we do on the internet is no longer private. For instance Google is collecting a lot of data on all of their users and it is my understanding that this is available to the government. Did you know that all banks have to disclose to the government our personal bank records? When you open a bank account you have to sign a release for the government to have access in order to open the account.

Now we know that the IRS uses the information gathered from the collection of our personal data to target individuals. It is well known that what a person posts on Facebook is available to the government. It appears that nothing we do is private anymore. With the soon to be enforced obamacare even our private conversations with our personal physicians will be accessed by the government. The thought of the IRS being over my personal health is a frightening thought and a true invasion of my privacy. Do you and I want the government knowing about all of our intimate health issues? Well get ready for full disclosure, for that is where we are headed.

Worse yet, us tax payers are paying out of our own pockets the expense of taking away our own privacy from ourselves. Does that make sense? The government is almost finished in their building of a very large data collecting operation in Utah. The Salt Lake Tribune covered a story about this on May 18th of this year and I quote: “computers at the data center will collect electronic information—from emails to cellphone records to purchasing receipts—from all over the world, store it and look for threatening patterns.” The Utah Data Center is so large that it is expected to “consume $40 million of electricity a year.” This center is to be completed this coming October of 2013, just in time for the enforcing of obamacare. As we know some government bureaucrats think that groups of people who are conservative or Christian or who are Veterans represent threatening patterns. Heaven forbid that one of these bureaucrats are in charge of a drone.

Gone is our right as a people to be secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, for our right has been violated, and no warrants were even issued, there was no probable cause, it wasn’t supported by oath or affirmation, nor is it particularly describing as to the place to be searched, nor are listed the names of us persons or of our things to be seized. Our freedom is gone and some people are saying that it is a good thing and it is for our own good and our own welfare. I implore all Americans with even an ounce of patriotism in their blood to oppose this theft of our personal right.
