For two hundred years the Land of the Free had managed to rise to the top of the power and influence chain by living under the protection and guidelines of the Constitution. Was it perfect? Of course not! The result, however, was a country that managed, through the freedoms and rights conveyed by the Bill of Rights, to govern itself, attain prosperity for those motivated to do so, and provide citizens with the right to defend themselves legally, under the second amendment.

Naturally, there were presidents and administrations that were interested in minimizing, reducing, or removing those rights in order to create a supposed environment of safety and equality. That was exactly what happened under Hitler. None of those previous administrations, thank God, were successful, until now. Obama’s “Hope and Change” mantra, false promises, have led to appointments of Muslims and communists to sensitive offices within the administration. Obama and his administration has managed to singlehandedly take away our rights to privacy, freedom of speech, freedoms from oppressive and invasive searches, freedom to bear arms. His Congressional avoidance, through Executive Orders, effectively turn us into subjects of the government rather than a people who are self-governed.

Most people are completely unaware, especially in light of the historical use of Executive Orders, that there is not one statement or word in our constitution, articles, Bill of Rights, or amendments, about granting the President the right to issue Executive Orders, or Memos, regardless of what they are called. Without being authorized or voted on by Congress, these orders are unconstitutional, whether the President is Republican or Democrat.

Contrary to what we hear from the liberal or conservative media, it is not Congress that is causing or allowing the illegal orders to exist or continue. It is the apathy of the American people who continue to elect congressmen on name recognition or repeated lies about what they are promising to do for the people. We see it already in the RINO stance of the Speaker of the House, Boehner. Our duly elected Congressmen have re-elected him as Speaker, in spite of his continued bloviating about conservative principals, but frequently acting in one accord with the Liberals. Liberals are statistically a smaller percentage of the voting population, but they are the vocal and more demanding portion of the population. Although most of the impoverished do not pay taxes, they effectively vote themselves benefits. The government then has to confiscate, in the form of taxes, the funds for those benefits from those who do pay taxes. It has been very well stated (although the assumed 200 year old source is not certain) A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury (does this sound familiar?) with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. It is this inclination that leads to the fall. Even the conservative representatives continue to approve higher budgets the government has absolutely no funds to pay, making them no different than the liberals, and they are effectively promising the current and future benefits will continue unbroken, if the public just trusts them.

We continue to put up with oppressive policies of a corrupt taxing authority, the IRS. We continue to allow this bankrupt government of men and women who are supposed to be representing our best interests to give billions of dollars, each year, to countries and governments that are in fact enemies of the American people, without asking us if it is okay. We are broke and our government would rather continue giving money to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and many other adversarial countries than to use the money to take care of our own people or reducing taxes so we can create more jobs and improve our own economy. The money they give to other countries is not surplus money. If we have to borrow money to pay the interest on our debt, does it not stand to reason we are borrowing money to give to other nations? Why? Because we want to be seen as “the good guys?”

America has become a nation of suicidal citizens. We would rather do nothing and hope the principal of “doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different results,” will not apply to their inaction. Surely you recognize the definition of insanity.

Our first obligation to this country is to preserve our Constitution as it has preserved us. To do that, we have to demand the three branches of government stop setting aside their responsibilities or grabbing more power than the Constitution grants. As long as “We the People” expect to keep our rights and freedoms, it is incumbent on us to stop sitting by and watching the government run over us. The “Hope and Change” mantra was, of course possible, because the American sheeple expect the government to do what WE are supposed to do. We are, of course, hampered in our representative choices by the mere fact that the parties only advance candidates who won’t make waves. I am tired of having to choose the lesser of two evils. We can and should unite as Americans first, and get candidates put forward, whether Democrats or Republicans, between whom we can vote for the better of two good choices.

The continuation of the East German Democratic Republic (which was not at all democratic or a Republic) for over forty years is an example of what we have to look forward to if we don’t stand up and take back our freedom robbing government. How long will we submit to unconstitutional activities by both elected and appointed leaders? I suggest we stand up, now, rather than to regret it later. We are founded under God and only by God will we arrest the move toward destruction.
